Something About Nothing..........#6

Hi all.

Andy, congrats on Sweeney Todd

Sorry everyone is so sick. So far, I have been lucky.

I have a little extra $ this week, so I'm thinking of buying my tickets for September. Should I do it now, or wait?

tickets for the plane?
park ?

or tickets to go see andy in todd sweeny?

i say spend the money now for what ever it is.
and if you are buying cake, make it an upside down pineapple cake and i'll be there.......

I'm such a big airhead right now. I meant US/IOA tickets. :rotfl:

I'm also trying to put my US ticker in. So far it's not working too well.

sorry, i have a warped sense of humor.........

if you want to buy the 7 day 2 park passes, i would do it soon, like in yesterday.

the promo price was out last year for $79.
it keeps rising.

last week or so it increased by $5 and now up to $99.
no one has any idea on how long the sale will be available.
it's a gamble on when to buy them.

with the economy not the best, some think the prices will lower.
that i don't think will happen.
on the other hand, i could end up wrong.

if you have the extra money now and do plan on buying the tickets, do it now and that will be one less thing to cover before your trip.

i almost bought my air last week out of o'hare for $249.

i saw a price for less than $200 today for the same flight.

i'm thisclosetobuy now for my air.......i'm going 9/30

It's a shame you aren't flying out of Chicago Midway, Airtran has a $79 one way flight to MCO on 9-30 :sad1: (not sure when you're coming home, couldn't plug that in)

the last time i went out of midway was in 2003.
the car fare for one way was $125.

it's just too much for me to do that round trip

midway is south west of chicago in the burbs.
with construction on the highways up here now, it would take me at least 90 minutes to get there.

i'm north of the city.
that makes me 35 minutes from ohare and 39 minutes to mitchell field out of milwaukee.

car fare is too high in this area.
if i get picked up anytime before 5:00 am, it is $70 for one way.
if i get the car at my house as of 5:00 am, the price is $52.

when i get back to chgo and as long as i get picked up at ohare by 11:59 pm
it's the cheaper rate then too.

btw, i'm returning on 10/13, hoping to take the night flight again around 8:30 pm out of mco.

the air, hotel and hhn tixs are the killers on my budget each year.
main reason i leave everyone at home and go solo.........

I wasn't sure where you were located in relation to either airport, just trying to help :)

i appreciate your help mike, i really do.....

i have so much crap in this dump of mine i should have a yard sale this summer and make money......

then i wouldn't have a care in the world on the cost of the flights.....

i need to check my yapta emails now.

Yes, I used Yapta for my May trip to Atlanta, since I have to use Airtran, as my fav airline Southwest doesn't fly into Atlanta. Yapta is cool. :thumbsup2

Gotta agree with Mike on this one. I think if you do the math (and are willing to sacrifice a little driving time.....which you should be used to living anywhere close to Chicago...his deal seems good). Do the math. Of course I am assuming you have someone to drop you off at Midway.

hey youse....

welcome Maria.

Barb - we had a carbon minoxide incident when i was younger.

My mum and dad went out one night leaving me looking after my wee sis.

When they got home they found me asleep on our sofa but when they tried to wake me i was very groggy and unable to walk.My sis was in bed and when they tried to wake her she was the same.

It turned out there was a crack in the chimney wall (which ran through the living room and my our bed room up stairs) and carbon minoxide was seeping in.

The doctors at the hospital said if i had gone to bed (meaning my mum would not have tried to wake me )my sis and i would not be here !!

Good morning all..

Thats A scary story scotlass..Glad they got there in time!!

Well i'm off to work, have A great day all..

Glad you fell asleep on the couch.:)

Niki...buy UO tickets now...price will only go up....(esp. w/ RRR and HP coming)

Raven...didn't buy air yet? Hopefully you'll score a good rate. Fingers crossed for you!

Scotlas... Holy crap!! It's a good thing you fell asleep on the sofa and parents tried to wake you...had you been in bed.... :sad2:

Mike...so...SW IS on Yapta? I hadn't checked it out yet...then again, I sit at the computer the day/time our air opens. By doing so, this year I was able to score $59 pp/ow on SW. About 2-3 weeks later, that $59 going down, is now $145 pp :scared1: Glad it opened cheap...saved us some $$. :goodvibes

Not feelin' up to par today...fighting something off. Think it's going to be a day of rest

With the numbers I just got from Yapta, it is cheaper now to use O'hare.
Midway rt on that airline Mike found was $79 one way. Double that and add taxes, I am guessing it would be about $180 rt.
AA just dropped prices again and this morning at $158rt

I don't have anyone to drop me off or pick me up at Midway. The carfare is a killer to my budget to go there.
Not sure what the parking cost is per day if I would drive there.

Midway does have some of those great deals on fare all the time!

I don't know why I love the weekends, I just do!

fight that bug real hard brab, you don't want to join the others and be a sickie....! Maybe I should making more chicken soup.....for youse.

I usually book my air around end of Feb/ first of March.
When the holidays are past, the fares go back to normal.
Yapta just got me cheaper air on American.
I'm sick of using United, they are at $368 for my trip as of today.
I go back and forth with AA and UA.

and a very good day to all the homies this Thursday

Never heard of Yapta - what does it do? Is it just a way to find cheaper fares or is it a commitment-type one?

What kind of weather are you expecting down there Mac? Still saying 8-10 inches here, starting as ice, sleet & freezing rain just in time to make my ride home from work miserable tonight!

HEY GUYS!!!!! LOOK WHOS BACKKK!!!!

Oh my its been ages since I've been on here...I forgot where the Universal side of the boards were...then I forgot how to write a message but I've got the hang of it!!

Oh. My. Heavens.

You may want to check into how much it is to park there...or, park n fly package at a nearby hotel. Drive to the hotel late the night before and you leave your car at the hotel. Use hotel shuttle back and forth to airport.

Sounds like you may score a decent airfare this year yet. Good luck!!

Compares airfares and alerts you to when your fare drops.
