Something About Nothing............ #14

Lynne - I boohoo’d when the kids took flight, then again when one boomeranged back lol. Not quite, life happens, always there for them.

Was a job found, or just an area in which to put down roots? It’s a big move & a short flight to meet up. Good luck to him.

I make LL tomorrow. Not going to say it doesn’t rub me the wrong way tho. I’d have skipped them for this bonus, anniversary get away. Got those sad eyes from the mr when he found out I wasn’t planning on it. I’m a softie.

Warm weather into the 60’s here this week, woohoo. Bit of rain, no problem. Maybe the snow will start to disappear Still a foot on the grass and along the curbs, even deeper.

I hear ya, Keisha, still piles of snow that were like concrete, as been below freezing since the day that snow dump came. Passed the salt truck on the highway we use to get to and from my sister’s place, as we were returning home. Was sleet/ snowy part of the ride, but only light rain when we got home. We are generally 2 degrees warmer than where she lives, and the car said 34 when we left.

DH promptly went to bed when we returned. Older one tossed the last of the trash he made, as he didn’t go with us. Guess I’m not tired, as did sleep later this morning. Both kids will still be up after I go to bed soon. They are much more night owls then both DH and I are.

My one ear still needs to pop, usually takes a few days, after landing, for one or other ear to clear. At times when landing, my ears ache, when we fly. Though a short flight, we go 30,000 or a few thousand higher. But was an easy flight, as not much along the coast, where the flights usually go to and from our airport. Trip longer if they detour further inland. Kids going for their fun trip again. Told little one, want that early spring trip, so we will lock down the trip when they get back.

Good night all.

I took a 3 hour nap this afternoon so now I am wide awake.

Dh and I went to see The Play That Goes Wrong last night. If you have not seen this I highly recommend it if you get the chance. I was laughing so much that I was crying.

We have a first world problem at home. The water dispenser on the refrigerator has stopped working. We can still get ice, just no water. I looked at the price of a new refrigerator today  Dh suggested we just buy a Brita pitcher.

B got another response from one of the places she contacted about an internship. This one is the Appomattox Courthouse. Things are starting to look promising.

Keisha - Happy belated anniversary.

Lynne - Hope your son is able to find a place and job soon.

I am actually feeling sleepy now so I am going to try to get some sleep.

well, LL booked after 2-1/2 hrs of tinkering. will keep looking to modify

hoops hoops & more disney hoops

lynne ugh still glad we're missing that mess, will have rain. today, fogged in, just starting to clear

had sinus surgery, told to not fly without earplanes. little did surgeon know, i've used for decades. silicone ear plugs, twisty design to help equalize pressure issues. i have small ear canals need to wear kids' size

kids on the road again? good for them

The water dispenser on the refrigerator has stopped working
i asked mr fix it here re ice & no water. his comments below

1. water line could be frozen:

if u can pull out fridge (just a bit) might help to pull line away from exterior wall try adjusting your temp a few ticks lower to see if it helps

also, could try to set fridge temp a bit lower to find the sweet spot. in a perfect world u would unplug it & let drain. easier said than done with food in it

2. the intake valve or union connector might need replaced. an easy fix he says, yeah; for him lol

IMPORTANT: he cautions to not tinker before:

shutting off the power supply to fridge

turn off water @ valve

have far more towels on hand than you'd expect

🤫could call your plumber & get estimate, it should be a relatively cheap fix

Awake too early because of the cat. I really wish he would sleep until 7.

It has been really quiet here. Nothing of much interest going on. B was supposed to have an interview today at the D-Day memorial, but it has to be rescheduled because the interviewer is sick. Yesterday she went to a career fair at the University. One of the companies representing was Disney. She is now considering applying for the college program after she graduates.

I should look into those. I am usually fine on airplanes, but the one and only tome in my life that I have had an ear infection was when we came home from Alaska. I was so miserable after that trip.

Thank you. Dh is not confident enough to attempt any of that himself. One of our neighbors is a plumber. We might give him a call.

Well, the cat has settled down, but dh just woke up. I don't know if I will be able to get back to sleep.

She did it. B has applied for the Disney college program. Now she just has to wait for the next step in the process. I told dh that if she gets accepted for fall then we will be forced to spend Thanksgiving and Christmas at WDW. He said that is a sacrifice he is willing to make.

Ack, kids are in 80 degrees and I get a blizzard, with 40 mph winds and 18 inches of snow by mid day Monday. Ugh. Seems February came in like a lamb and is ending like a lion. As yes, more snow Wednesday through Friday. At least next weekend, which is the start of March, is predicted to be 50 degrees days. I’ll take it. Should help with melting all that snow to fall this week. Ugh again. Snow. ❄️

But to me, January is the transition to the brunt of cold weather February is, then March is the transition month to Spring.

What? No precheck or global entry lines. I hope when the kids fly home, those express lines are working. Though heard 45 minute pre-check lines at MCO lately.

Sunday. And DH said shouldn’t we put the trash at the curb. I said I doubt very much the trash trucks will be picking up trash Monday morning. Our trash trucks are usually fitted with plows to help the truck plows with clearing our roads. But I’ll look outside this evening to see if any of my neighbors put their trash out. If I see some, I’ll drag mine too. In the snowy weather. Sigh.

Ooh, been drizzle raining since early this morning. To change to snow mid afternoon. Then should be over an inch an hour snow. But at least we have enough food to last days. And, the house is nice and warm.

Good morning homies. Hope all are safe and warm on my snowy blizzard starting Sunday.

Hey all, multi-tasking while waiting for nail polish to dry. Jr coming for a rump roast, then grabbing our pooch to babysit while we head to airport hotel.

All the talk of the cyclone bomb hitting east coast today & tomorrow

Combined with talk of 36 inches of snow for them and a few for us

Convinced me to book a room where they can shuttle us @ 4 am. It was mr toad’s wild ride in December as Pittsburgh had half their snow plows out of service. Um, that city planner needs to go back to school

Not much better in Orlando, will be 35 degrees when we land tomorrow, never break 50. We had low to mid 60 degree weather for a few days this week, so it’s really not going to warm. First trip ever, no shorts, no skirts, wearing warm leggings and joggers. T shirts, spirit jersey over & a light weight coat. Whee. Still, better than sitting home :)

Bought two, ridiculously cheap, recommended small backpacks on amazon that fit Spirit’s carry on size. Shocked how much they hold due to the design and using those packing bags you roll & squeeze out the air. Told the mr not to get used to that. I like my stuff when I travel.

That would be sweeeet!
Ack, kids are in 80 degrees and I get a blizzard,
I get Dairy Queen’s Salted Caramel Truffle one :duck:. Middle DS bought me a shamrock shake the other day. Not my favorite thing. Haven’t had one in years. Not as I remembered, was a sickening, very pale shade of green and tasted of much of nothing. Have a feeling they mixed it wrong.

Nice they are having warm weather wherever they are roaming? West Coast this time as it’s sure not Orlando today.
