Something About Nothing............ #14

Ouch, Charade, hope you don’t get sick either. Sending more mummy dust get well thoughts to your DH.

Ah, at 8am this morning they said 3 to 5 inches of snow. By the 10 am weather news, an inch of rain and a tenth of a wintery mix and no snow. Was to end at 6 tonight, ended at 3 this afternoon. And with a full day of sunshine tomorrow, not only will camel enjoy that sunshine, but I will, as will dry up whatever freezes overnight. And have some errands to do tomorrow. We just hunkered down today, and kids want pasta for dinner. Fine with me, as hot meals this time of year are welcome.

It’s December already. And my work texted me last night, I could telework tomorrow. Haha. Online watching tv is what I did today. Don’t care if some worked or some went in the office, with the delayed arrival today that was also part of that text. Done and enjoying these lazy mornings now.

Hope all had a dry Tuesday today.

And wee, little one remarked our travel day is xx days way. Yep. Getting closer and closer. Woot! Or wahoo.

Thanks Lynne. Unfortunately dh passed it on to me. Thankfully my sore, scratchy throat is gone, but now I am coughing and sneezing all the time. Hopefully this will be gone by the end of the week.

Ah, at 8am this morning they said 3 to 5 inches of snow.
Just ice and rain here so far, but we might see a little snow on Friday.

And my work texted me last night, I could telework tomorrow.
Have they already forgotten you retired?

Eventually, I guess, Charade. Just thought it was funny. Hope you are getting better, sending mummy dust well wishes to you too.

And, for those keeping track, nope it’s not whopper Wednesday, it’s that favorite animal guy to remind us of this day of the week. Why hello camel:

IMG_5001.jpeg

Yep, that mid week day, where a working homie or not, get over this hump of a day feeling this Wednesday, then yay, Fabulous Friday feeling day is a day away.

Did my errands in 36 degrees, and full sunshine, as roads were already dry when we left mid morning, and I even didn’t think it felt that cold out. Rocked those sunglasses. But as our days get that ever so shorter until the winter equinox. And it’s almost 5 pm, and it’s already dusk and getting darker. Sigh.

We had a big early lunch, and with DH and little one on a visit to his DB, over 2 hours drive away, I guess we will have a very late dinner. Will call them when they head home to see if they stopped for food or had dinner with my BIL, and older one and I fend for ourselves, or wait and see what all are in the mood for dinner. I’m thinking burgers. Older one went out for iced coffee and a 5 piece row of mini soft pretzels about an hour ago. So neither of us is hungry yet. Those soft pretzels with spicy brown mustard, yum yum. Love it when one of my kids stop by the pretzel place for fresh soft pretzels. Every so often, they hit the spot.

Hope all are doing well and sending mummy dust well wishes to those homies not feeling well. It’s already the first days of December. This year has certainly flown by. But yay, the month we do our cookie and candy, two day baking days. 🎄

It's a miserable Thursday morning. This cold is wiping me out. I barely slept last night and spent a good portion of the night coughing.

Tomorrow we are supposed to get snow. They are saying 1-3 inches. I have an appointment for mu car's annual inspection tomorrow. I am going to reschedule that. Even if it's just a little snow I don't want to drive in it. After work today I need to go to Kroger and pick up a few essentials. Why do I always run out of stuff right before it snows?

It's not so bad. I think we got about 3 inches. I haven't been outside all day. I've spent the day doing laundry and cross stitching.
A few years ago I made a purchase from a company called Pajamagram. They did a mystery clearance sale where you gave them your size and what item you wanted (pjs, robe, etc.) and they would send you something randomly. I ordered a nightgown and received a plaid, fleece, ankle length gown. It's soft and comfy, but too warm for me to sleep in. It has now become my snow day attire.
We might be getting a little more snow on Monday.

Ah, that white winter stuff, Charade. We were supposed to get snow, but nope an inch of cold feeling rain we had. Today, saw a few flurries, as it did feel cool today, given it was 29 degrees when we did errands mid morning.

Our 7 day forecast has shown no snow or wet in this week. Seems will be 33 the high when we leave, more like 22 or so when we get to the airport, and will pack shorts in my carry on. Yep, 70 the high when we arrive. Ooh, will be nice to be in that 70 degree or high days, though we are ready if a cold front comes through when we are there. We will have warm clothes, as will need them coming and most likely on the way home.

But last week day payday Friday for me. Have enjoyed this week to decompress from moving before the crack of dawn. Though will be doing it for our mid morning flight coming up soon. 20 days until Christmas and we are in single digit countdown now. Squeak. So looking forward to holiday park fun sooner than later and coming home before that Thursday holiday. And, because of that, our probably latest we have done our baking extravaganza days, and at the start of the week rather than end of the week we had done every year before, based on a Friday I took off during the December days before Christmas week. Looking forward to those fun baking days too.

Fabulous Friday to all, and a Most Wonderful December Weekend wish for all too.

And a hehe, with me being so lazy this week, little one said it didn’t feel like a Friday today. Eh, as we get ever that closer to that Santa holiday, the traffic will be more and more. Though had a laugh, as she also said it’s all those old people cars that make it worse on week days. I think she wasn’t taking about me, as my DH has said, I have a lead foot. But having both my kids doing all the driving now, I told them they have to drive my car sometimes rather than theirs. It is nice to be the passenger, as can see lots I never really saw when I drove.

Quiet night and cold night, as 31 degrees and windy. Brr. No reason to go, and made a cup of tea, as I seem to be the only one that feels the house a little cool. Have a D23 event tomorrow morning. Little one is going with me. Holiday fun with a holiday movie for us. So busy lately. Though did pre book my hair salon visit, two days before we leave. Yay, freshly blonde when I travel.

Light 💡 on, for those that need it on this very dark already early night.

We just had some excitement. B was doing the dishes. She took a corning ware dish out of the cabinet to put leftovers in, but the lid slipped, hit the counter, and then the floor. My first words were "Step back slowly and go get some shoes." There were glass shards all over the counter tops, oven, floor, and even in the food she was going to put away. I think we got it all cleaned up. The one bright spot is that it was an extra lid so we still have enough lids for all of our corning ware dishes.

Ah. Well, Charade I guess being December, snow day again not unusual.

We are dry and cold tomorrow, but Wednesday, we have a chance of a wintery mix of 0.05 inches mid day, with same amount, kind, and morning time, on Saturday. But that may change, but that is our 7 day forecast so far, as of the evening news tonight.

Ah that dread of impending of the start of the week day routine. Nope, no more for me. Will be our ladies breakfast out, with little one and I on Monday, whenever she wakes up. At least the cheap breakfast lasts until 11 am.

Hope all have a good Sunday night. Trash is at curb and ready for early morning pick up.

And almost that ooh time to fly to warmer temps. Tick, tick, less than a week now. Wahoo!

It has been snowing since about 7:00 this morning. The flakes are very tiny and light, so the accumulation isn't as bad as you might think it would be after 9 hours of snow. I think we got another 3-4 inches. I think it should be stopping within the next few hours.

I am enjoying another lazy day away from work. I dread going back in tomorrow though.

And almost that ooh time to fly to warmer temps. Tick, tick, less than a week now.
You will be there on my birthday. Have some cake for me. I am hoping to do a Disney trip for my 60th.

Kid took me to the mall where you can see that nyc skyline. They were all decorated for the holidays, and music was holiday songs. Had a nice lunch at the Yard House there, and treated myself to a blind pop mart Disney item. Got Pluto. He has a key chain, so I’ll hang him in my backpack that I’m taking on my trip.

From an area they change depending on what time of year:
IMG_5006.jpeg

Was so pretty to walk through the little area that they had in one part of the mall. From our seats at Yard House, we saw the ski hill getting set up for opening. Yep, they not only have a small amusement park in it, but a very large snow covered hill where you take the seats to bring you to the very top, and you can ski, snowboard and some days, can use an inner tube. Don’t know the cost, but looks like fun. We passed, and just did a little more shopping. Then not too bad a ride back home. We live about an hour and a half from the mall near the water shuttle to NYC. The mall and arena next to it, have the Holland Tunnel exit traffic merging with the exits of the mall/arena. At least we didn’t hit that much traffic going late morning and coming home mid afternoon. Mall was not crowded either. But I guess we were lucky, as not that close to the holiday yet. We won’t visit there until after the holidays now.

Ah, gets so dark so fast, was dark by 5 pm.

An, camel better visit us in the morning before we get less than inch of snow, and .05 inches of a wintery mix starting around lunchtime. We will most likely see some snow this Wednesday afternoon. Still saying may be rain, given the high tomorrow afternoon will be 42 degrees, though with a wind that will make it feel cooler.

Hope all are enjoying a lovely still Fall Tuesday night, where taco Tuesday gave the reminder a good day to enjoy that hand held food. But not us, we had a burger, club sandwich and a fancy Asian sandwich, with a queso cheese dip to nosh on, as we waited for our entrees. The fries with our meals were delicious too. None of us was hungry for dinner, so I went for a milkshake, little one ate our leftovers from lunch, and older one just snacked on some of fries we bought home in the doggie bag we had, that little one shared with him. Her other half of her club sandwich was in that doggie bag too.

Was so nice to do such day trips now that I don’t have a week day routine any more. Yay, loving this laid back time so far. And our trip is getting that is getting so close now. Wahoo. Holiday park fun coming up. And, hair salon visit on Thursday, so that to look forward too, before our mid morning flight days later.

Love this time of year, as holiday decor and music definitely makes happy feeling homies, me included.

Light on, as so dark out. No need to stub toes tonight. Good night all.

Well, as that snow said let’s just stay way north of me. 0.05 inches of rain and chance for a wintery mix. Light rain failing now, and stopping soon, to only start a few minutes later. So far, a wind that gives a brr, and was an increasing overcast sky. Did our shopping late morning and had a Shake Shack lunch, of which stuffed little one and I. We did come home with a large cup of lattes from that coffee shop.

Hehe, and who to remind us of what day it is?

IMG_5007.jpeg

Hehe, Christmas is now 15 days from today, given it’s a Thursday this year.

But today, it’s that mid week day of the week, where camel gives us the idea that get over this hump of a day, Wednesday, that most fabulous Friday feeling then a day away. Woot!

Tick tick single digits and what was predicted to also be snowy the day we leave, now saying will just be overcast and 40 the high. No matter, the temp we leave will be 26 degrees, and will be 74 degrees when we arrive. Nice change in temps, yay! Though still packing a few pair of pants and a sweatshirt and my winter jacket that I will be wearing on the way to the airport. Then will round out packing some shorts and a good handful of shirts and underwear. At least our room does have a washer and dryer in it, so I can see us doing wash more than once while we are there. Will be nice to have all nicely washed and dried before we leave. Squeal, holiday fun night the day we arrive. But we always do a meal stop
and Target run before we head to our hotel. We will be hungry as neither of us eat or drink anything before our predawn time we leave nor get much food at the airport, as only sometimes iced coffee and maybe a muffin or other if they are open when we arrive. And I am no fan of the pretzel bags they give on the plane. Hence, we both get off the plane and head to pick up our luggage and rental car. We never eat in the airport when we arrive. So ready for some holiday park fun coming up.

Most Wonderful Wednesday to all the homies and their families and friends.

Happy Wednesday. I went back into work today. Had to clear a ton of snow off my car first. Work was busy trying to catch up after being out 2 days.

I don't have much Christmas shopping to do this year. Dh and B are getting seasonal passes for Universal. I am trying to come up with some stocking stuffer ideas. So far each is getting a Hallmark Christmas ornament, and I also purchased a t- shirt for B. I'm trying to come up with some small but useful things to add to the stockings.
Caspian is getting a few toys and some treats. We had to move his scratching post out of the living room to make room for the tree. Today I got him a scratch pad to use. I think he likes it.

IMG_2042.jpeg

Lynne - are you going to both Disney and Universal this trip? I am counting the days until our January trip.

Hope the rest of the SANS family are doing well. Please stop by and say hi sometime.

Probably not doing Universal, though may visit there during our trip, but we are only going a week, and have 2 nights planned at the mouse this time, Charade. We both have APs for Universal and Disney. Little one also has the seasonal pass, as we usually don’t visit during the blockout times. I have the top one, as gives us preferred parking and top discount with my pass.

We had a tenth of an inch of rain and wintery mix. Now been overcast since dinnertime, and no wet weather predicted until this Sunday.

I should be getting to bed. DH went to bed hours ago. Looking forward to my salon visit tomorrow late afternoon.

Ah, gloriously blonde once again, always feels so nice to be pampered and hair always feels nicer when I leave.

Was so dark out as I left, and cool and overcast sky.

Yay, tomorrow is Friday, which means luggage will be taken out of the closet. Woot! So close now.
