Something About Nothing............ #14

POR was our first choice and we stayed there for many trips. Then, Roger found it easier to get around POFQ due to it's smaller footprint. We missed POR, but POFQ was a really nice, quaint resort. It we ever go back to WDW, we would stay there.

Yes, it seems to be. When we went to WDW at least once a year, we had a good friend who was a TA and she helped us out so much and got us some very good deals and perks. All I had to do was give her the dates we wanted, and she took care of all the rest. Now, we make our own arrangements. I should say Robin or Randy makes the arrangements, LOL. They can navigate the airlines site better than me.

20 miles??? He is an inspiration! I can't even think of running that much. I hope the weather holds out for you so you can see the race. Our Sunday looks like more of the white stuff (I refuse to call it you know what, lol) and cold weather.

Yes, it seems to be more common in the US than here, as I said, I don`t know a soul that uses one, we all do our own trips. But, if you find them useful, then why not.

lol.....he is fit as 10 fiddles!!! You saw the pictures of him from mum`s birthday, he doesn`t have an ounce of body fat on him, well, not much. He runs a lot as you know and to them, running 20 miles is easy peasy!!! Me.....I`ll be exhausted watching them, but I`m glad he has a healthy hobby, it`ll keep him fit for sure.

Not more white stuff for you Ruth, time to email someone upstairs and complain lol.....

I have baby news.......:lovestruc Yes, it's a girl:cheer2: I've been checking out the girlie pink and lavender newborn clothes already. I gave her a crocheted receiving blanket that I made a while back and can't wait to make more girly things in the future:)
Thanks for all the Pink thoughts coming our way:)

Congratulations Ruth!!!!

Pink thoughts won indeed. They`ll be over the moon with the news.

Steaks were beautiful, as rare as you can get and full of flavour, about to enjoy a cuppa and dessert, almost 7.30 here, after that, we`ll settle down with a movie I think! Sounds like a plan.

We are the TAs worst nightmare.
Everyone here is helpful and experienced.
Our friends call me Tour Guide Tony because I know where every bathroom and chill out zone is in all the FL parks.
It is so much more enjoyable with friends and family when you don't have to figure everything out separately.
Before cel phones I would print out menus, itineraries and confirmation numbers for everyone.

We were the same way with WDW, DJ. I know what you mean. It was fun while it lasted, but since the changes at WDW over time we have switched to Universal. We used to be the one who advised everyone who was planning a trip to WDW. We went at least once a year and never missed. We loved it. There is still a lot of nostalgia there for the Disney of old, but not enough to make us go back yet. I would love to be like others who still get a lot from Disney. I think that's great, but we hit our limit of changes a while ago. We had been going to WDW since l977, so a long time.
I know everyone loves having your experience to help with all the info on the parks.

Pumpkin, I know you are taking a break from social media for a while. I get it.
I had to get off facebook a while ago, and I don't regret it at all. It was getting so toxic with people who say anything since it's the internet! It also had some porn which I could not get rid of.
I used it to keep in touch with friends that live far away. Now we just email each other.
So, I know what you mean about social media.
We will be happy to see you when your break is over:)

Happy Saturday. I am finally finishing up my vacation laundry and will probably spend the rest of the day doing some cross stitching.

The tree in my yard has now been reduced to a pile of limbs. My neighbor’s son, M, will remove them sometime this weekend. M told us something very interesting. Remember my backyard neighbor who accused us of cutting down his trees and threatened to call the police on us? M says he is doing stuff on his property that he does not have the proper permits for. Things that could cause serious environmental issues. M says he has reported the neighbor to the proper authorities and someone should be coming out to investigate. Things could get really interesting here soon.

In other news, dh is probably looking at cataract surgery in the near future. He has a consultation with the surgeon next month. He is worried that this might affect his plans for the summer. He is going to several concerts, some are out of state.

We have gotten some quotes for our Mississippi river cruise. On the one hand, the price has sent me into a bit of sticker shock. On the other hand, the price is all inclusive. Once we pay for the trip the only expenses we will have is if we want to do extra excursions or buy souvenirs.

it was heart warming to have them with us for short trip
They will try to come back next year again
and take more pictures as we all played pass the baby around for almost for one and half days.

Babies grow up way to fast !

we were excited to see them come and very sad they had only a short visit.

can’t complain as it’s better than nothing,

charade I had cataract surgery not that long ago
easy surgery

your husband will be very pleased once he has his done.

I hear you, I love helping folks for their trips, not so much Disney, but sharing what I know for Universal with relatives and friends, it`s fun!!!

So true, some folks surely can`t be as bad in real life as they are online. Heaven help them if they are!!!

Heck, that doesn`t sound like fun behind you! Hope they find out what it is and if it illegal, hopefully they`ll stop him.

The river cruise sounds a lot of fun and will probably be worth it.

Glad you had a nice visit with family, was it your GD or GS visiting? Yes they will be getting bigger now. It is hard living far from family.

Had a lovely day out with friends today, last minute decision, but we had a drive out, lunch in a country pub then back to their place for afternoon tea and a wander to the horses, but the weather came in nasty, so back up to the house and then headed home. Nice day though.

Tonight, lazy movie watching evening for us, think last of the PoTC movies and a little snack tray if we get hungry later.

Weather is foul out there, we did think of heading to one of the village pubs for their Karaoke, my friend J and her husband are heading there, but rain is bouncing down.

Pot of tea heading my way!!!

Hope your Saturday is a good one!!!

forget to answer your question Carole, oops
Baby boy now One year old.

son in the same type of employment

both parents work and have limited time off work

I`m way off in my memory then, I could have sworn your granddaughter was born last July and your GS way before that. Who am I thinking of then?

Nice to see them though I`m sure and spoil that little boy for the day!!

Not a bad looking day today, sunny and coudy and not too much of a breeze, will be ideal for the runners today. We`ll go watch his last hour or so then he`s coming back here to get showered and changed, have some food and watch the Chinese Grand Prix from early this morning. Trying to avoid the result till we watch it.

I have chicken pieces in the slow cooker for dinner tonight with an array of veg, white wine, stock, garlic, herbs finished with cream when it`s done and will do as requested, some small garlic & rosemary roasties. Quick snack lunch when we get back in from watching the run, but feel like bacon with the poached egg this morning, the butcher cut it very thick so we won`t need many slices of that, might switch up some pancakes too, haven`t done that for a time. I did grimace at the butcher when he asked if I wanted to know the pig`s name....lol

On my second mini pot of tea, woke up far too early for no good reason, so let sleeping beauty sleep on while I came downstairs.

Hope you have a lovely Sunday 😊

Hope everyone is enjoying a cup of your favorite morning beverage this morning be it coffee or tea.

Lol so I hear. For some reason I’m failing to wrap my head around what I’m told is the enormity of it. I’m not a huge jerky fan but, the wide varieties I see they offer is intriguing.
There is a very large jerky selection and fudge and fresh brisket sandwhiches that are pretty good.

I almost fell over laughing when my younger sister K shows up behind be with a small grocery cart they have there. Did not realize they had grocery carts. It is that big.

They do have the cleanest restrooms and reasonable gas prices around.

Janet praying your surgery went well and you are on the road to recovery.
IMG_5213.gif

I’ve been fitted for good shoes. I’ll try that tape and see if it helps.
Great to hear. Good fitted shoes make hiking in the parks so much easier.

think we`ve been unlucky with the burgers at KSC, we order one every time and each time we`ve taken them back as they were dry as they had been sitting, even their freshly cooked one wasn`t great. Ended up with pulled pork and it`s decent, but you don`t go there expecting gourmet food, glad you enjoyed them though.
Sorry to hear that. Don’t know if I have been just hitting the timing on the burgers. So far so good.

Great-Nephew liked the pulled pork sandwich when I took him and his brother last year to KSC.

I can’t imagine opening the door and seeing a monster like that trying to crawl up the wall.
IMG_5214.png

Thank you, I love the view where we live and yes, reaching 90 is an incredible achievement, she is an amazing woman.
That is awesome. Good moms deserve to be celebrated. Sounds like you have a wonderful one.

Have a lovely visit with your GD this week, spending time with family is the best!!!
Thank you. She is still sleeping this morning. I love having her here.

How fun!!!!! Enjoy your time together. Do you have anything special planned?
Yes, we have been enjoying pool time and some shopping. We are going to the beach and maybe up to Orlando for some nice shopping and maybe pop in to Universal.

I have given her some fun possible options. I’am going to let her pick what she wants to do and go from there.

Tonight after dinner I have some calls to make, birthday wishes to pass on and find out how my sister and family got on today scattering my brother in laws ashes as his request, it would have been his birthday too.
Will keep them in my prayers.

And our little Lindsey would have been 26 yesterday if she was still with us. She`s never far from our thoughts, but always thinking of her family.
I know how much Lindsey ment to you and Tom by your writings of her. So sad she was so young. It is wonderful that you keep her alive in your hearts.

I have a lot of the "old" Disney in the 70's. It looks so different and less crowded. Those pictures bring back a lot of memories of us with the young kids. I am going make an album of only Disney pictures through the years. Should be fun. There's just so many! I guess now everyone just leaves them on their phone or computer? I might get these done in the next 5 years or so :confused3 .
It is nice to have those memories of Disney from many moons ago when visiting there was so uncomplicated.

No property damage so no deductible. The fence was damaged but it belongs to my neighbor. She is taking full responsibility. Her sons are very handy and one has volunteered to chop up the tree and dispose of it.
Great to hear no damages to the houses.

Beautiful day, didn`t end up very windy after all, so we had a wander up into the woods behind us, we call this area (apparently) Devils Circle!! Who knew......folks say it looks like an area where sacrifices took place......lol......
Sounds spooky and cool.

Hope Kyle has a good run today. Wow…..20 miles. That is a long run. Congratulations to him on reaching that milestone in running. Can’t imagine the stamina and conditioning that would take to prepare for a run that distance.

I’am sure he will be the happy recipient of his mom’s good cooking after his run.

Congratulations on your good news Ruth. Now you get to buy cute baby girl clothes.

That guy behind you will be able to find out that M reported him. The authorities have to typically be transparent with that. Sounds like that neighbor behind you has issues.

In other news, dh is probably looking at cataract surgery in the near future. He has a consultation with the surgeon next month. He is worried that this might affect his plans for the summer. He is going to several concerts, some are out of state.
Once he sees the eye doctor they can work it out with him to plan the cataract surgery to work with his dates so he is done with the post surgery eye drops and follow up visits before his out of state concerts.

Mac great to hear you got some grand baby time. It is the best.

Cool start to the morning. It has been past few days. It is 57 this morning and will warm up into the 70’s.

Our dreaded oak trees in the neighborhood are dropping pollen like crazy. Hope it is over soon.

Right right eyelid is swollen this morning. Think it was from rubbing it as it was itching. My eye had drained a little this morning when I woke up. I went and bought some Pataday allergy eyedrops from Wally World early this morning. Hopefully this will take care of it. If not will have to call the eye doctor. Don’t have time for this….LOL

95 had been terrible the past few weeks with accidents. I left early on Thursday to stop and have lunch with my older sister D in Harmony before I picked Granddaughter up from Sandford Airport and I was stuck on 95 for almost an hour do to a accident.

Then when the traffic finally picked up a truck threw off a small rock and it hit by windshield and did a minor scratch on it. It is hard to see, but it is there no less.

My neighbor was stuck on 95 for 3 hours do to an accident after picking up her grandson at MCO. She was on the way back home.

Then my friend and I got stuck on 95 when we were on our way back from KSC a couple weeks ago do to a accident, but were finally able to get off an exit and pick US 1 to head back south.

I think I have shared it before 95 is not for the faint of heart. I know why the accidents are happening as the spend limit is 70, but everyone is doing 85 or 90. Even scarier yet are the young ones on their motorcycles speeding and weaving in and out of the cars.

Granddaughter is still sleeping this morning.

Planning on a nice breakfast when she gets up.

Letting her decide on what she wants to do everyday. She has been enjoying pool time and some shopping. Going to try and pick a day that is not going to be terribly windy for our beach day.

I have planned some of her favorite meals to cook for her while she is here.

Thinking we might go up to Orlando for some shopping and Universal time for a day. She is thinking on it.

It has been warming up to about 74 during the day and the sun has been full out in the afternoon so think she will want more pool time today.

We might drive to one of the Parks on the Intercoastal Waterway where the Manatees like to hang out to have a look.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone doing whatever makes you happy.

I asked the staff what the meat was in the burger and she couldn’t tell me, didn’t realise it was a hard question. The pulled pork has been the nicest option from there apart from fries, but again, we like food really warm and it’s always been lukewarm which isn’t as nice as it should be, but again, you don’t go there for food.

Thank you she is an incredible woman and has come through a lot last few years, we’re so lucky with her.

Yes, Lindsey is never far from our thoughts.

He did brilliantly and yes, I don’t know how they do it! He plans one or two more 20 mile runs before the marathon in five weeks!

Pollen is ramping up here too, not pleasant at all. But enjoy your time with your granddaughter, you’ll have such fun together!

glad you heard from her.
I had sent her a note but did not hear back from her
assume she is doing well.

She does seem to be doing well which is so good to hear.

tomorrow is when both our cats have their annual shots. I cry louder than they do …

The vet has no issues in doing the shots.
but I fall apart when when it’s shots time.

Oh Lordy, hope it goes well with the kitties today! Not a fun thing to do.

How’s your weather now, is it picking up again after your cold spell.

Another beautiful morning here, sun is shining brilliantly and it’s not too cold. I wish it had been as warm yesterday watching Kyle and his friends run that last half hour of the race. It was freezing and a little foggy but he did well and beat his record from last year by a minute and a half, seems in good shape for the marathon next month.

He came back to us and he was still frozen, showered, changed and enjoyed a nice hot meal, hot chocolate and we watched the Chinese GP, such a nice day despite the cold.

Today we’re heading into town to try and find some strappy sandals which is harder than it sounds, and a couple of tee shirts, but who knows what I’ll come back with.

Duck breasts for dinner tonight, doing a plum and ginger sauce and doing lo mein noodles to go with it and some Asian veg. No idea what’s for lunch, but salad weather is imminent so might do something with a salad.

Hope your Monday is a good one :)

So good to hear she did well.

Everyone is sleeping in a little this morning.

Going to make a light breakfast this morning. Granddaughter and my friends and I are going out to celebrate our birthdays with an early lunch.

Then a little beach time with granddaughter.

I found some fish beads a few weeks ago. I made a few bracelets to share with the girls to add to their birthday gifts.

Off to make breakfast.

Have a wonderful Monday everyone.
