Everyone is sleeping in a little this morning.

Going to make a light breakfast this morning. Granddaughter and my friends and I are going out to celebrate our birthdays with an early lunch.

Then a little beach time with granddaughter.

I found some fish beads a few weeks ago. I made a few bracelets to share with the girls to add to their birthday gifts.

Well, best laid plans.

Didn`t get shopping in the end, Tom stood on his glasses and bent the darn things!!! Not sure how he managed it, but we took them into the Optician we use and they fixed them nicely, no need to send them away or replace the lenses. It took some time though and we were the opposite direction of where we planned to be, so got some shopping and came home.

He is off volunteering this afternoon, so I`m sitting in the sunshine by the kitchen doors that are wide open, it is so lovely and the sun is warm despite it being fairly cool outside.

Pot of tea, slice of cake and a new book, lazy afternoon ahead for me!!!

Didn`t get shopping in the end, Tom stood on his glasses and bent the darn things!!! I had to laugh at this one, because I didn't want to cry as I sit here with fingerless gloves on, the heat on, a flannel shirt and one of my heavier quilts, and I am still cold!!!! Sitting in the sunshine with the doors wide open sounds heavenly. If we leave our doors wide open, we get mosquitoes or other buggy types in the house. TEa and a slice of cake sounds good to me, that is,Coffee instead of tea, lol. I have been drinking coffee for a long, long time and it's the only thing that gets me started in the AM I know you will have a great, WARM, day

Happy Saturday. I am finally finishing up my vacation laundry and will probably spend the rest of the day doing some cross stitching.

What are you cross stitching? I still don't know how to post pictures to one person on this site? I can do it on my iphone though. I will have to check with my son to get some much needed help
I would like to post some pictures at some point.......

In other news, dh is probably looking at cataract surgery in the near future.

I need to have cataract surgery eventualy too. Mine isn't bad enough right now. I believe that this type of surgery is pretty common and very easy to tolerate, so that's a win.

We have gotten some quotes for our Mississippi river cruise

That river cruise sounds really nice. Please let us know what you find out about it.

Tonight, lazy movie watching evening for us, think last of the PoTC movies and a little snack tray if we get hungry later

Oh POC is one of our favorite series. Johnny Depp is a hoot! We just finished a Harry Potter marathon this weekend. No matter how many times I have seen these movies, they still captivate me. I wonder how the remake by one of the streaming services is going to be?

95 had been terrible the past few weeks with accidents.

OMGosh, Robbie, that 95 sounds awful! I would avoid it too. Just way too many accidents!

Letting her decide on what she wants to do everyday. She has been enjoying pool time and some shopping. Going to try and pick a day that is not going to be terribly windy for our beach day.

Pool time and shopping should make her very happy

but he did well and beat his record from last year by a minute and a half, seems in good shape for the marathon next month.

That's quite an accomplishment! I can't believe he ran in that awful cold weather. He should be in good shape for the Marathon. I bet he enjoyed getting warmed up and eating good food with his Mom and Dad after

Well, Yahoo! I have finally finished the fleece jacket from H###! I dont' know why I had so much trouble with this one? Well, it could be that I haven't made one for about 22 years....
I got very frustrated with this one, and was fussing around about it this am. Roger came into my sewing room and calmed me down. He said, Why don't you do it the way you want to and don't worry about those convoluted directions? I thought, I do know how to finish this off so what am I aggravated about. Just finish it like I know how to. And guess what? That worked. I finished it and it looks good to me Bless Roger. He is my calming voice when I get upset or frustrated over stuff. He always makes it better, and then we both laugh about it later I give it to the grandson next weekend and I hope he likes it as much as his cousins have liked theirs.

It's cold and snowy, but the sun is out! I'm dreaming of flowers and green grass now. We get fooled this time of year with nice warmer weather and grass melting, then we get another snowstorm! Everyone enjoy your warm weather And have a good week.

Oh bless Ruth!! Now that does not sound like fun, hope it warms up for you soon, Wednesday here has to be lovely, tomorrow just ok, but it`s a hit or miss for us weather wise. We can have three or four days of glorious weather, then bam!!! Sucks again.

We just get flies, wasps and bees really, well spiders too, but nothing that will harm us. We kill everything except bees of course. I hate flies the most, so we do what we can to keep them out, but it`s the cost of summer.

I`ve never really been a coffee drinker, occasionally I`ll make us a milky coffee, but not often....the cake was really nice and for me, tea all the way!! Best way to start the day.

Agree, we can watch Pirates or the Potter movies over and over again, yes, Johnny Depp is incredible in them. We will absolutely NOT be watching the new Potter, too PC. Nope, they should leave things alone.

I`ve never seen him so cold after a run before, but yes, didn`t take him long to warm up here. I think he`ll be fine for the marathon.

Oh husbands are very good at things like that aren`t they! It`s definitely one my husbands talents is calming me down if I get too mad about things, they deserve a medal! Glad you have it finished, I know it was something you really wanted to finish, I`m sure they`ll love it when they see it.

Well, lazy day indeed. Got half way through my book, I had closed the doors mid afternoon then snoozed with the heat of the sun....from behind the glass of course, had an hour which was lovely. Once the sun goes down it does get very chilly out there yet. Our clocks go forward this weekend and Mother`s Day too for us in the UK on Sunday.

Dinner was nice, duck breasts weren`t overcooked, nice and pink, lovely meal overall, we don`t eat duck often enough.

Tonight, another lazy one, some tv and chatter, but won`t be long till bedtime for us

Woke up at sunrise and it looked stunning, but now it`s gone back to cloudy and grey, but it`s incredibly mild which is nice for this time of year.

Went out shopping this morning, didn`t get a dressy strappy sandal and didn`t get any tee shirts, will have to look online after all. The sandal I did try on was like standing on a brick and gel pads wouldn`t have helped and why are loads of tee shirts only available in round necks, I like a V neck, but again, online it`ll have to be.

Stopped into a deli in town, but not my day, they didn`t have the olives we like but picked up some Parma Ham and Piri-Piri shrimps, that`ll do lunch, making cajun chicken with salad for dinner tonight and going to bake some rosemary and garlic bread to go with it this afternoon.

Seems we are getting our new garage doors tomorrow, so a day at home for us and wine delivery coming too, plan to do some window cleaning since I`m in, one of my least favourite jobs, but has to be done!

Quick mid morning cuppa, an hour and a half till lunch, I think I need a snack!!

Super slow day at work today. My boss is getting checked by a cardiologist because she is experiencing shortness of breath. She had to be there at 7:00 this morning. I’m waiting for her to call and let us know how the appointment went.

Our travel agent sent us quotes from 2 different cruise lines. The trip packages are nearly identical. Company A is about $3000 less than company B and has about 250 fewer quests than company B. The only advantage I see with company B is that we would get a larger window in our room. I guess the next step is putting down the deposit.

They do have the cleanest restrooms and reasonable gas prices around.

I was amazed at the size of the restrooms.

That guy behind you will be able to find out that M reported him. The authorities have to typically be transparent with that. Sounds like that neighbor behind you has issues.

Fortunately M doesn’t care. He told me that if the neighbor accuses us of reporting him just let the neighbor know that it was M who filed the report.

Our dreaded oak trees in the neighborhood are dropping pollen like crazy. Hope it is over soon.

Ugh, I can tell it’s spring because I am having more difficulty breathing.

I think I have shared it before 95 is not for the faint of heart. I know why the accidents are happening as the spend limit is 70, but everyone is doing 85 or 90. Even scarier yet are the young ones on their motorcycles speeding and weaving in and out of the cars.

I hated driving on 95 so much that I chose to take the toll road to work and back instead.

I heard from Janet a little time ago, she did have her surgery on Friday and it went just fine for her which is so good to hear.

Mine has to be sedated for his annual exam and shots. He’s fun to watch after he comes out of the sedation.

On this day 11 years ago we got snow. The local news said we would get a coating to an inch.

Caspian is really unnerving me right now. He was sleeping on the sofa, then about 11:30 he sat up, started sniffing the air, then went over to our back door and started sniffing the corner between the door and the cabinets. He keeps going back to that spot. I’m wondering if he hears or smalls something that I can’t.

lol..I can imagine with the cat. I`m like a demented woman with flies and wasps, I will chase them with a lemon spray instead of bug spray which is not a nice smell, usually works, I hate flies.

I do have a couple of square necks but they tend to be for wearing with skirts, I always think if I`m not looking for stuff I see loads but when I go looking it can be disappointing.

Another stunningly beautiful morning here, apparently even this far down we could see the aurora during the night and at times with the naked eye not just on camera, missed it!! I just found a picture a photographer took from the end of the pier last night, absolutely incredible.

Up nice and early as we have the garage door guys coming around 8ish, will have the kettle on for them as soon as they get here and get some cuppas over to them. I`m not sure how long it`ll take to remove the old ones and fit the new ones but no plans to go out today. Going to clean the insides of all the windows, window cleaner comes today too so they`ll sparkle inside and out.

And wine delivery will be here before midday.

Poached egg on toast for breakfast, grilled turkey, brie and cranberry sandwiches for lunch and bacon, mushroom and leek quiche with salad for dinner, then it`s Wednesday night, out to Salsa classes with one of my friends. I don`t think it`s hurting as much on a Thursday morning now!

Another cuppa on the go, sleeping beauty will up soon, then breakfast, I am kinda hungry this morning!

Ah, cooler day then what we should be at this time of year. Yeah, heated seat turned on. 35 when I left this morning. Somewhat cloudy day, but no rain in those clouds. Saying that rain is waiting for Monday, in which we will have another rainy and possible thunderstorms Monday next week. Sigh. But first home opener for the bat boys, is this coming Monday. May see some rain delays or reschedule, depending on when the rain is to stop. Saying will be a rainy ride home this coming Monday, given saying will start in the afternoon. Sigh. This every day week day routine really makes me have that is it TGIF yet?

And who do I see?


Hehe, camel is where it is warmer, like the Orlando area is. But as the mid week is here already, we get over this hump of a day feeling Wednesday, and that most fabulous Friday feeling is then a day away. This week, it’s a pay day one, and shortest week day routine one too. And, we are in the last full week of March already. That means that next holiday Monday is that much closer. And should be much warmer. Though like Charade, we can still see some snow even in April. But at least it rarely stays around this time of year, as it tends to be warmer just after that bit of snow.

Eh, tired of this cold front still around. Will be warmer this weekend, as yeah, most of our rain comes from the SW area. And the South is warmer than us this week, for sure.

And so, sweater coat on, as office has no heat as of Monday. Would be fine if it wasn’t so cool today. 51 the high, with enough wind, making it feel even cooler than it is. And at close to freezing this morning, that wind made me quick enough into the building. And yay, mostly green lights this pre dawn, very dark trip, and not the very long line I saw yesterday coming in. Woot! But unlike the afternoon one. The line out is scary. So many cars. Waited four lights to get out yesterday, and it took long enough, passed by that shutoff around 4, school zone without the blinking, that I usually get when I go by just before it shuts off. Hope the lesser cars seen this morning makes leaving not as long as yesterday. Sigh. Enough of weather and week day routine.

Time for more tea, as. A golden sunrise seen on the horizon, ah this quiet morning is perfect.

Anyway.........

Garage doors almost finished now, someone will be like a kid with a new toy later!! The workmen have been kept going all morning with tea and biscuits, happy workmen are a good thing.....for sure!!!!

Time for a cuppa and then go check out the new doors, I think they`ve done a good job by all accounts, glad it was dry for them at least. And I got a whole load of jobs done this morning, except forgot to txt friends we wouldn`t be at lunch with them....oops!!!

Completely forgot we had planned to start up the Wednesday lunches again, apologies all round to them.

Hoping mac got some sleep and the cats didn`t whine and hope Charade`s cat didn`t hear anything else last night!!!

Very sunny but cool here, nice in the sun though.

I called our pest control company this morning. They are already scheduled for a routine visit next week, so I asked them to check for mice while they are here.

Back home, showered and feet up after 90 minutes of trying to make my feet go the same way as the teacher!! Not bad though and definitely getting easier, still fun though.

The aurora is visible again tonight, tempted to head out to see it, but both of us are too comfy watching tv with a cuppa. Chilly night but it`ll be perfect for the sky watchers.

Think an early night is coming up for us, might watch some tv in bed for a time. Looks to be another lovely tomorrow if a little breezy.

Good Thursday afternoon!!!

Up and out early this morning with a slow-ish walk with two friends, her leg is getting better slowly, but walking every day is helping her.

Lovely morning and not too cold, stopped in for breakfast at one of the beachside cafe`s, some only open seasonally, so mid March is when they tend they start up. Bacon rolls all round and tea for everyone.

The off shopping for some bits and bobs, doing some baking this afternoon for a church event tomorrow, will drop it by later when it`s all done.

Roast salmon for dinner tonight with au gratin potatoes and some buttered leeks, might keep a treat or two back for dessert with a pot of tea later.

lol……I do it all the time! I’m usually sitting with a book at the same time, so it’s no wonder I miss stuff, our husbands have the patience of saints!!!







Very early morning walk this morning, gorgeous morning and not cold at all.

Only walked a couple of miles as we were heading over to Kyle’s, he had arranged workmen to come and do a job, so we said we’d come over and sit while they’re here, they’re on their way now and should be here for an hour or so.

Then we’ll go get some bits and bobs of shopping and meeting a friend in the tea shop in our village this afternoon for a chat and cuppa.

Spicy chicken breast, fruity and spicy couscous and salad for dinner tonight, hopefully this weather will start to change full time now, we are ready for something a bit warmer now.

It’s lovely just being in Kyle’s place and no jobs to do….he is too organised, the place is immaculate.
