Something About Nothing............ #14

Quick stop in before I get too swamped with work.

Busy busy busy here. I have no casual gal here right now, so it's just me at work. There is not much down time when I am alone.

We have been busy outside of work too. This week (and last week) were my days to help DD and pick up our gd. Then last weekend I flew the next province over to go visit with my family. It was a nice weekend spent with my sisters, nieces, and mom. It is never long enough - but it was a nice short visit.

The weather has been cooperating and I feel so much better. It sounds like it will get cold again with flurries on Sunday  I am sooo done with winter. But I am loving how fast the daylight is lengthening everyday. Now it's light until 7:00 pm!!!! Then with the time change this weekend, it will be 8-830 next week!!!! Just having more direct sunlight in my days is helping.

I had someone (new) walk into the office and expected to make an appointment for that afternoon. Sorry dude, it doesn’t work that way.
I hear you on that! I have to field calls like that everyday. Their doctor tells them that they are getting the referral to our office - then they are on the phone to talk to us. I have to explain how it works, what happens blah blah blah. Most are thankful for the information, others try to bully their way to getting seen sooner and have choice words. They are then re-directed to the manager. I won't deal with verbal abuse of any kind.

Have a fantastic time at Disney!!!!!
post about the bears and mountain lions and wolves
It sounds like an amazing part of the country that you live in!!!! Sounds very much like my area. Those animals are a definite worry - especially the bears. They can be very unpredictable. We have a very healthy respect for them here too.
Although my husband does call me Princess, I haven`t quite got round to wearing a tiara quite yet.
 Sounds very familiar - my dh calls me a princess at times too. I always respond - well you created it :rolleyes1
Oh you mentioned our flowers.......here you go....:)
Those look sooooooooo beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see green again. I won't see green until at least May.

Alright, I should get back to work.

Have a great day everyone!!!

A long Thursday here, had to meet the waterbed installer at my DS house by 9 am. The guy was old as the hills (that’s saying something coming from my vantage point). He announced upon arrival he took great pride in doing a job ‘right’. Six hours later…

i thot DS was kidding when he said he wanted one. Back in the dark ages, we had one for over 10 years. Liked it, especially on cold, winter days. Not the best thing for aging backs tho. He got a top of the line sort, 10 X + more than we had paid back in the 90’s lol. It’s hard sided looks like a regular bed TBH. He’s happy, I’m happy.

I cooked him up some thick pork chops, mashed taters & broccoli & put in fridge. Cleaned his kitchen & bathroom and did a load of laundry.

Then, surfed the net, seriously how cool is this:

IMG_6751.jpeg

watched the big bear eagle cam and a couple things on Netflix, including minions 4.

Now home staring into freezer hoping something jumps out at me to make for our dinner.

Tomorrow starts a week of making sure everything is caught up at work and cleaned up at home before leaving town. I also have 3 medical appointments.
Isn’t it always that way? Excited for you, have fun!
Oh no, I hope that it has started to heal now.
Oh yes, the big blister is gone, was worried about the floppy skin left behind. Weirdly, arm basically absorbed it overnight. Like the blob.

The mr made the observation it looks like Johnny depp’s black spot in the PoC movie. Can’t say I disagree there. Assume it will fade away or at least to a lighter hue with time. Otherwise, I’ve lots of concealer lol
I've been fantasizing about a large strawberry cone or a strawberry shake!
As long as whipped cream is involved i’m good to go. ;) I didn’t mean for that to sound quite that pervy. Ew. Just always have a can of reddi whip in the fridge

My daughter and her best friend are celebrating their birthdays with a trip to Sanibel Island next week.
She’ll come back with a sore back from doing the Sanibel stoop for those gorgeous shells! It’s on my bucket list, shamefully, we get as far as St Pete’s beach and I don’t want to drive any further from home base (orlando).

so that's where all the wolves and even mountain lions come from. Of all of them, the mountain lions are feared the most. Our State denies that we have them, but they show up at times being hit by cars. It must sound like we live in the back country, lol. It's just part of living in the N. Country.
Wildest place in the Wilderness! Holy smokes.
he`s been running just over 4 years now, so well in his stride.
He’s really taken to it so quickly, combo of natural talent and determination
I haven`t quite got round to wearing a tiara quite yet.....no, it`s for my mum on her birthday to wear for a picture.
Hmmm, have you considered a big, grand one for the Empress (Mom) and a slightly smaller version for the Queen (you)? Of course, you’d have to get one for your sister too!
Oh you mentioned our flowers.......here you go
Beautiful. My crocus & even daffodils are usually starting to poke their heads thru the typical light dusting of snow. Even tho nothing on the ground, don’t see any sight of them. Hope the chipmunks didn’t devour them again over winter.
I am sooo done with winter
Oh me too, barely broke freezing here today. I guess it’s all relative, your neck of the woods, would probably be considered a heatwave.

Florida's biggest animal threats are the insects.
The bears, panthers, alligators, crocodiles, rattlesnakes, copperheads, cottonmouths, coral snakes, coyotes and other terrestrial critters are largely in undeveloped areas.
Sea creatures like stonefish, lionfish, makos, tiger sharks, great whites, sandbar sharks, hammerheads, bull sharks are largely timid or nonchalant around humans.
People in FL are far more dangerous. Especially on I4, I75 and I95.

Was a beautiful partly cloudy sunset. Pinks and golden yellow. Still windy out. But saying glorious sunshine for the next 5 days, and getting warmer every day, through high tomorrow is 49.

Eh, between the pot holes to try to not to hit, we have very aggressive drivers to contend with, where I am. Heck, we call one of our highways, the shoot to kill, instead of its real name, that does almost sound like it. So many accidents on it, every day, including where it has a curve that is so steep, is like that high racing track curve. And where it starts, 4 roads merge into its two lanes. We call that the gauntlet area.

I’m so ready for bed. 🛌 is calling. DH retired two hours ago. Alarm is off, even if I am going to be awake near the time it would have gone off tomorrow morning. Difference, slow moving I will be. But not too lazy, as somewhat early, train ride, then flower viewing, Hard Rock lunch and a stop at the Italian bakery for my fresh filled cannoli, before the returning train ride.

Woot, as Charade then a day away from flight to fun, as of tomorrow.

Slow day so far at work. Hoping it stays that way. I need to do some more house cleaning then pack. I am ready to get out of here.

Heck, wondered where you were!!

Family visits are always fun, glad you had a nice time away.

lol...nice answer, I say similar to Tom, well, you treat me like a princess.....so......if the crown fits!!! Wouldn`t have him any other way and vice versa I`m sure, it`s nice to be pampered.

It might feel spring like earlier for you with the time change, I hear you on being ready for spring. We`re dark around 6pm right now, have to wait till the end of the month for that big change, looking forward to lighter nights and lighter early mornings again.

Hope he has many happy nights sleep in it Janet. It`s starnge you never hear of them much, but as you say, retro is popular. I`ve never slept on one, I have sat on one but it was a million years ago when it was in a store more as a novelty show piece, bit too wobbly for me but I imagine they`re more stable now and better made.

I saw that somewhere yesterday online, forget where now, yes it is very cool!

Pervy sounding or not, whipped cream is essential on most things in life.....haha!!!

Oh, now I`m wondering if I should buy one for mum, sister, niece, nephew`s wife and myself....hmmm. That might be quite the picture. My niece J is very much me, but younger and better looking and is definitely a Princess, but in a lovely way!!! I need to find something today!

I love flowers in the garden especially the wilder ones that grow willy nilly. We have one area where the grass is usually covered in Heather late summer. It`s weird as nowhere else around here has that, our gardener says we muts have brought back some on our shoes from Scotland and transferred it lol. He also complains it messes up that lawn!!!

I`m hoping these flowers grow back in our garden this year, not a clue what they are as admittedly, we didn`t plant them....but they are lovely however, they didn`t appear the year before.

Yep, I often wonder where Kyle gets it from, certainly not in the genes!!! But, proud of him in everything he does and he loves it.

Oh heck yes, every area has their blackspots. Where we live we have many country roads, small and winding, but most of the accidents still happen on motorways (highways) And usually down to an idiot driver. I hate when folks brag they have a lead foot when driving as if it`s something to celebrate, nothing like announcing you`re an idiot. Anyone can drive fast, not everyone can drive fast safely.

There are so many lovely areas to drive in Florida, but heck yes, there are certain parts that aren`t fun.

Well, not as much sunshine as yesterday, but going to be warmer today which will be lovely. Have to pop into town for a few bits, always to be avoided as it`s just so busy, but we`ll head in earlier, get the cheque`s paid in, try to find these darn tiaras, it`s market day so hopefully pick up some nice treats and head for the hills!!

Cheese plate with grapes, home made chutney and crackers for lunch, steaks for dinner with chunky chips and pepper sauce and might pick up a dessert from the market today, one of the stalls sells amazing cheesecakes of every flavour imaginable and fairly small so it`s not too much for one person.

This afternoon is going to be a lazy one, Tom is out volunteering so I might do nothing, mooch round the internet see who Meghan Markle is imitating today. Seriously what is wrong with that woman that she doesn`t have an original thought in her head, it must be a very sad and pathetic life when you have to mimic other people`s words and actions. Please don`t send them back over here lol.....heck no!!!

Time for breakfast then head out, parking is never fun there on market days! Nice pot of tea is brewing away, Tom is about to poach my egg, bless him he`s having cereal!

Have a lovely Friday :)

Good morning. Lots to do today. In addition to finishing packing I also have an appointment with my primary medical provider and need to pick up the rental car.

Last night I had forgotten that we purchased tickets for a concert at our local theater. What were we thinking? It was our city’s pops band playing music from the stage and screen. The concert was good, but dh bought seats on the front row. It was kind of awkward seating for a concert. We had a great view of the conductor’s backside.

But I am loving how fast the daylight is lengthening everyday. Now it's light until 7:00 pm!!!! Then with the time change this weekend, it will be 8-830 next week!!!!
Yes! No more looking like it’s midnight at 5:30. We can forget to change our clocks on vacation. We have an 8:00 breakfast scheduled for Sunday.

had to meet the waterbed installer at my DS house by 9 am.
I didn’t know they still sold those. I thought they were cool when I was a kid. Not so much now.

Oh, now I`m wondering if I should buy one for mum, sister, niece, nephew`s wife and myself....hmmm. That might be quite the picture.
Go for it. That would be a great picture.

Tonight we drive up to the DC area where we will stay overnight. I think it’s crazy that it is much cheaper to rent a car and hotel room than it is to just fly out of my city.

Have a wonderful trip Charade, hope you love every second of it!!

Not as sunny as promised, but at least it`s not cold, getting a little misty too, might get fog later looking at it.

Went into a town about 40 minutes away from us, parked easily and headed for the accessory store that has been there for years. Seems it is a mobile phone shop now and has been for several years....oops. So, got what we needed elsewhere including a wander round the market that`s located there on a Friday, came home and ordered another one off of the net, if it isn`t good I give up on the whole idea and my sister has said unequivocally no to wearing a tiara lol...I thought she would, so just mum then.

House is quiet, time to get some music on and mooch the afternoon away doing little jobs here and there.

Time for a cuppa I think!!

Quick stop in while I wait for someone to come relieve me for my morning break.

Took gd to McDonald's last night at her request. It was just her and I for dinner last night - so that was an easy answer. Dh was is out of town for work - and " happened " to be able to take in an Oiler's game while in the city for work :rolleyes2 And conveniently dd is also working in the city - so he took her to the game . It's their thing to do together.

The rest of the evening was quiet once son-in-law picked up gd to take her home after he was done work. I sat and went through the resorts our travel agent found for us to have a last-minute hot getaway. I have settled on 2 to pick from. One has better and large beach/sandy ocean swimming area, the other one has a protected beach/sand swimming area that has some rocks and coral in it and some sand - so we would need to wear water shoes - but I could also snorkel and watch the fish! So we will pick from those 2.

We don't have any big plans for the weekend. I will be doing some tidying of corners, and some weekly cleaning duties. I'm thinking Sunday I will make roast chicken and have the kids over. I have 2 left from the big bag of frozen whole chickens I bought a local Mennonite colony. And then hopefully soon they are back at the farmers market for me to stock up again.

We did too years ago. I remember turning it off in summer - to help us sleep cooler in the summer  I don't know if my old lady back could handle a waterbed again. I love my cushie mattress
Seriously what is wrong with that woman that she doesn`t have an original thought in her head, it must be a very sad and pathetic life when you have to mimic other people`s words and actions. Please don`t send them back over here lol.....heck no!!!
I feel the same way about her. I have refused to watch her/their shows on Netflix. My feeling about them is " You wanted to leave the royal life because you wanted privacy, but still wanted the money like you're a working royal, you air all the dirty laundry to Oprah to tell the world about how the family has treated you badly, but let's make sure we keep the name and our kids keep their royal titles. " Then she/they wonder why people dislike/detest them :scared:
Tonight we drive up to the DC
:cheer2: You are on your way!!!!! Have fun!!!!!!!!!!

Alright....off for break, then to actually get some work done

Have a great day everyone!

I got a picture of all my siblings and her in a picture together a few years ago, had it blown up, cleaned up by one of these firms that offer that service, so ordered a nice frame for it, first one I chose, I thought it was real oak, turns out to have been plastic with wood look, so the one that arrived today is very nice.
I bet she will love that photo! What a great idea:)
Oh you mentioned our flowers.......here you go....:)
Those are so beautiful and made my day, as I sit here and look out at snow............
Almost ready for bed, had a lovely evening with my friend at our Salsa/dance class 💃 It was a lot busier tonight but still so much fun. Hips are definitely not too happy, but will be fine in the morning.
LOL, I have been doing yoga again, and my old body doesn't stretch like it used to:)
You would love my favorite ice cream shop. When strawberries are in season they will go to a local farm and pick them and make fresh ice cream. I never cared much for strawberry ice cream before, but this stuff is heavenly.
Fresh ice cream from the strawberries sounds just delicious. You are so lucky to have a place like that to get ice cream. We only have the Dairy Queen and another shop that does not make their own. However, we are getting over run with coffee shops. Another Starbucks just opened. I think that makes 6 coffee shops in our small town! Crazy. I still can't make myself pay that much for a cup of coffee, so I make my own in our coffee maker.
Sat in the kitchen this morning with the doors wide open once the sun came around just after 9.30, two of our friends came round for a cuppa, it was lovely enjoying the fresh air without that chill!!!
That sounds so wonderful Carole.
We have been busy outside of work too.
OMGosh, what a busy day for you. That's a lot to squeeze into a day.
A long Thursday here, had to meet the waterbed installer at my DS house by 9 am. The guy was old as the hills (that’s saying something coming from my vantage point). He announced upon arrival he took great pride in doing a job ‘right’. Six hours later…
LOL, had to laugh at this one. Six hours to install a water bed? I didn't think they were even available anymore? I hope he enjoys it.
Oh yes, the big blister is gone, was worried about the floppy skin left behind. Weirdly, arm basically absorbed it overnight. Like the blob.
The Blob, :rotfl2: thanks for that:)
As long as whipped cream is involved i’m good to go
Okay..........................I wasn't thinking that:)
Florida's biggest animal threats are the insect
I hate the insects in the South. They were a big nuisance in Tn, and I imagine a warmer, humid climate was even worse.
I`m hoping these flowers grow back in our garden this year, not a clue what they are as admittedly, we didn`t plant them....but they are lovely however, they didn`t appear the year before.
To my untrained eye, they look kind of like lilies?

I can't stand her and the way she and Harry acted about the Royal family. I hear that now Harry wants to mend fences? I don't know anyone who even likes her. I refuse to watch her at all!
Tonight we drive up to the DC area where we will stay overnight. I think it’s crazy that it is much cheaper to rent a car and hotel room than it is to just fly out of my city.
Yea! 2 more days:) We always drive to Minneapolis and stay overnight. They have shuttles to the airport to take you and pick you up, all the while your car is parked safe and sound!
The rest of the evening was quiet once son-in-law picked up gd to take her home after he was done work. I sat and went through the resorts our travel agent found for us to have a last-minute hot getaway
A last minute get a way sounds wonderful. Where are you going?
I feel the same way about her. I have refused to watch her/their shows on Netflix. I agree 100% with this, Pumpkin. We don't want her over here either. Maybe she will go back to the UK ? I don't think she is getting a big reception here. The streaming services will see the poor ratings and drop her like a stone.

Today is one of those days with nothing concrete planned. So, I did some laundry, baked a walnut brownie, worked on a crocheting project, did some yoga, and am now listening to country music and relaxing in the recliner:)
For the continuing story of the unfinished fleece jacket..............I finally, after 2 weeks, got the new zipper put in without a problem. I also sewed up the sides and put the sleeves in. Next is the hood and finishing up hemlines. I am so glad it will be over soon, but it looks cute and I can't wait to see it on Rowan:)

I've been checking out the hotel rates at RPR for a trip to Universal this fall, and I can't believe how some of the dates have doubled in cost! The same time as last year is now $1000/nite!!! Too rich for me. I finally decided to get the cheapest AP and get their rates for the hotel, and the other perks too. I guess with the new Epic Universe opening, they are raising prices for that?

Have a great weekend everyone, and a wave to the ones I've missed: Robo, Mac, and Lynne.

Checking in, a nice productive day. Still a bit too chilly for my liking when out running errands. Taking a break then fried taters & shrimp for dinner. Jr stopping by before he hangs with the boys after work. Will make his spuds first and scramble him a couple of eggs then put the fan on high before i start the shrimp as he has an allergy there. May just wait until he takes off, makes me nervous as he got sick after sitting in The boathouse the last time. They keep an allergy sort of kitchen, just think it was heavy in the air.

Heck, we call one of our highways, the shoot to kill, instead of its real name, that does almost sound like it
Lol good one
bit too wobbly for me but I imagine they`re more stable now and better made
Oh, they have all sorts from the cheapo ones that look like a bean bag filled with water up to the one he has. The bladder is encased in foam on all the sides for stability. Only the middle has any sort of movement and it’s very little compared to the waveless we had decades ago
We have one area where the grass is usually covered in Heather late summer.
We have a patch of clover and another of mint. Couldn’t figure out where that one came from until I realized it crept over from one of the neighbors. I’d never use it as it looks so, scrubby and just a faint smell
not a clue what they are
I agree looks like a small lily something or other. I had a bouquet years ago that had white ones that looked somewhat like that but, a bit smaller. The florist had glued little pearls in them, quite stunning.
We had a great view of the conductor’s backside.
Haha sounds like the mr did have good intentions gone awry

Enjoy your trip
my sister has said unequivocally no to wearing a tiara lol...I thought she would, so just mum then.
Aw, darn it. That would make the best picture
I have settled on 2 to pick from
Ooooh, sounds like you can’t go wrong there. Did you check the water temps for the time of year you are visiting?
I have refused to watch her/their shows on Netflix
Can’t say I even knew who she was or that show (suits?) before she happened to snare Harry. He never had a chance with that spider
To my untrained eye, they look kind of like lilies?
I wish i knew more about flower names
I finally decided to get the cheapest AP and get their rates for the hotel, and the other perks too.
You can always just pick up after you get there. As long as you show it to the desk the next day or so, all will be good. The rates do fluctuate, try checking early Sunday evenings. I’ve had good luck then a couple of times lately.

Both places sound perfect for a sunshine getaway Pumpkin, I think you absolutely deserve a blast of heat for a time, I honestly cannot imagine the temps you and Ruth both have a lot of the winter!!

Hard to beat a roast chicken, it`s a dish everyone loves for sure. And nice to just potter around at the weekends, your job does sound incredibly busy, so nice to relax a little.

Oh completely agree, the lies they tell and continue to tell with just about everything in their life is amazing, lies hidden in plain view. She will never be forgiven and neither will he for the way they treated the Queen and Prince Phillip in their final years. Hopeful one day their lies will be revealed. I honestly don`t know one single person who even tries to defend them. Grifters indeed.

Have a lovely weekend Pumpkin :)

I bet she will love that photo! What a great idea:)

Those are so beautiful and made my day, as I sit here and look out at snow............

LOL, I have been doing yoga again, and my old body doesn't stretch like it used to:)

That sounds so wonderful Carole.

OMGosh, what a busy day for you. That's a lot to squeeze into a day.

LOL, had to laugh at this one. Six hours to install a water bed? I didn't think they were even available anymore? I hope he enjoys it.

The Blob, :rotfl2: thanks for that:)

Okay..........................I wasn't thinking that:)

I hate the insects in the South. They were a big nuisance in Tn, and I imagine a warmer, humid climate was even worse.

To my untrained eye, they look kind of like lilies?

I can't stand her and the way she and Harry acted about the Royal family. I hear that now Harry wants to mend fences? I don't know anyone who even likes her. I refuse to watch her at all!

Yea! 2 more days:) We always drive to Minneapolis and stay overnight. They have shuttles to the airport to take you and pick you up, all the while your car is parked safe and sound!

A last minute get a way sounds wonderful. Where are you going?

Have a great weekend everyone, and a wave to the ones I've missed: Robo, Mac, and Lynne.

ruth

You still have snow!!! Heck, I should send you more flower pictures when they pop up, but once your garden comes alive it is stunning, surely it`s not long now!!!

Yes, I think she`ll love it, I got it enlarged and cleaned up, but think maybe I got it too enlarged as the quality isn`t crystal clear, but she`ll still put it pride of place I`m sure.

I think you might be right as in it`s some kind of lily, I honestly never pay attention and I`m sure I`m told what they are, but I forget, if they look nice, all I need to know. I recognise herbs easier weirdly!

His father "may" forgive but I doubt anyone else will, especially William. He won`t be welcomed back that`s for sure, rumours are he lives in NY, all fake with that pair and no I wouldn`t watch anything she in, the reviews are incredible, all dreadful, folks see her for who she really is. She will never come back to the UK publicly.

Your day sounds about perfect Ruth, productive and relaxing....my kinda day!!! Oh that fleece will be gorgeous when it`s done and he will look such a cutie in it.

Hope you get that trip sorted soon, yes, I`ve seen lots of comments about price hikes, but keep checking for sure. Are you still planning for both kids to visit with you this upcoming trip? That would be so lovely.

Have a lovely weekend too Ruth and keep cosy!!!

Lol good one

Oh, they have all sorts from the cheapo ones that look like a bean bag filled with water up to the one he has. The bladder is encased in foam on all the sides for stability. Only the middle has any sort of movement and it’s very little compared to the waveless we had decades ago

We have a patch of clover and another of mint. Couldn’t figure out where that one came from until I realized it crept over from one of the neighbors. I’d never use it as it looks so, scrubby and just a faint smell

I agree looks like a small lily something or other. I had a bouquet years ago that had white ones that looked somewhat like that but, a bit smaller. The florist had glued little pearls in them, quite stunning.

Haha sounds like the mr did have good intentions gone awry

Enjoy your trip

Aw, darn it. That would make the best picture

Ooooh, sounds like you can’t go wrong there. Did you check the water temps for the time of year you are visiting?

Can’t say I even knew who she was or that show (suits?) before she happened to snare Harry. He never had a chance with that spider

I wish i knew more about flower names

You can always just pick up after you get there. As long as you show it to the desk the next day or so, all will be good. The rates do fluctuate, try checking early Sunday evenings. I’ve had good luck then a couple of times lately.

Such an awful allergy to have, what a shame he got sick at Boathouse. Hope they all enjoyed their food although I`m sure they did!!

Those flowers with little pearls glued to them sound stunning, I would neve have thought of doing that, but then I never have been artistic. I do think they might be a smaller lily, will see if it comes back this year!!

I honestly know nothing of waterbeds, but your boy`s sounds like a top notch one, hope he loves it.

Yes, it would have been a lovely picture, but I might borrow it back from my mum afterwards lol.....Tom said he never expected anything else!! Not sure mum is thrilled with the idea, but we all like it so she will wear it, probably not for long, but just a little fun.

Your flowers are beautiful!

Thanks mac!

Have you still got your rose bushes flowering? They were beautiful and you had quite a few if I remember correctly. I do love roses, I wish we had more.

Good Saturday morning!!!

Beautiful sunshine, little breezy but not too bad and it is getting lighter so much earlier, no need to wait till the clock change at the end of the month to see a difference.

I think we`ll head out a walk at some point today. I know Kyle is dropping by, but not sure when so we`ll work around his visit, but have to take advantage as apparently more cold weather is due on Monday!! Typical, just gets a little nicer then they snatch it back! Expecting a parcel today too, so hope they email with a rough time, this tiara should have been so much easier to find!!

No plans apart from walking and a visit from our boy, tonight we`re having Chinese or Thai takeout and the fourth Pirates movie, might manage the fifth too, can`t beat a bit of Johnny Depp as Capt Jack!

Tom is fancying bacon this morning, I`ll stick to poached egg but will have some avocado too with the toast, perfect weekend breakfast and tea, can`t beat that first pot in the morning.

Hope Charade has a good trip down and a lovely time in Orlando!!

Happy Saturday 😊

Better safe than sorry :rolleyes1

Had snow overnight, the hawks are circling my dog (pooch) like vultures when I take him out. Over-fertile mind, reminds me of dragons.

Think the rougher winter has been hard this year on the local wildlife.

Supposed to finally finish the demolition of old power plant here. The one that started with the big towers coming down a year ago. Lawsuits were filed as to safety concerns by nearby residents whose homes were damaged. Can’t say I blame them.

They tried to pull the tall building down last week, only 70% cooperated. The dust cloud was awful, can’t imagine the carcinogens that got stirred up in it. Didn’t go out of house that day, not planning on doing so today either JIK

Making chocolate chip cookies, just because today :). Roast chicken breasts on the menu for dinner. It’s still difficult to find them here since the pandemic??? Sweet &/or baked taters along with pickled cucumber salad. Tomorrow, making a half ham I found hiding in the freezer.

and darn cat walked on a long post to you ….
Immediately, my mind went to this
IMG_6756.jpeg
she`ll still put it pride of place I`m sure.
Absolutely. Last few times I’ve had pics off my phone enlarged at Walgreens, I’ve gotten a warning the pixels were off. Went ahead & ordered anyway, and they looked fine to me.

New to me, guess they’ve been around for a while, are metal tile sort of things, about the size of an ipad. They affix to wall but are able to be changed out easily with other ones as the mood strikes you. Used DS as a guinea pig for them, looks nice in a hallway he has.
your boy`s sounds like a top notch one, hope he loves it.
Yes, it’s fully warmed up now, says he can’t pry his cat off it lol
Not sure mum is thrilled with the idea, but we all like it so she will wear it, probably not for long, but just a little fun.
she doth protest too much ;). JK, I’m sure she’s a humble person and thinks it’s possibly a bit too showy but, deep down, bet she is tickled pink by it! Going to be so much fun for all.

Good morning everyone

Thank you Robbie, 90 is indeed something to celebrate and we`ll do her proud for sure.

Hope the little guy improves and glad to hear your daughter in law and granddaughter are improving, that is good news.

Enjoy your day!!
Thank you Carole. The girls are doing good. Daughter in law is still in therapy. She is off her crutches, but still hobbling a bit. Granddaughter surgical site almost totally healed.

Little J unbeknownst to anyone had a ruptured ear drum do to infection. Was seen by his doctor and is on antibiotics and is doing a lot better. Fever has subsided. Doc said the ear drum will heal and they will keep watch on it.

I know you will help do your mom’s birthday up in style for sure. I’am sure she will enjoy having her family around her celebrating with her.

Best wishes to all! How's your better half doing?
Thank you Janet. Hubby is doing well. Thankfully he is having more good days then bad ones so he is progressing well thank you for asking.

Robbie, extend your birthday for a full week!
For sure Mac. Birthdays are a fun time to extend the celebrations.

Happy Hump Day! :wave2::car:
Hey!!!!!! Sue….good to see your post.

I need to sign off now and get ready to go to town for supper. We are taking my Mom out to eat as she has been inside a lot lately due to the crummy weather. We will just bundle her up and go:)
Have a nice meal out with your mom Ruth. I’am sure she will enjoy getting out with you all for a meal.

where all the wolves and even mountain lions come from. Of all of them, the mountain lions are feared the most. Our State denies that we have them, but they show up at times being hit by cars. It must sound like we live in the back country, lol. It's just part of living in the N. Country. T
WOW……sounds like you all have an interesting mix of wild life near you.

Oh you mentioned our flowers.......here you go..
Pretty flowers that are blooming in your yard..

Then last weekend I flew the next province over to go visit with my family. It was a nice weekend spent with my sisters, nieces, and mom. It is never long enough - but it was a nice short visit.
Pumpkin what a nice little getaway to see your family.

She’ll come back with a sore back from doing the Sanibel stoop for those gorgeous shells! It’s on my bucket list, shamefully, we get as far as St Pete’s beach and I don’t want to drive any further from home base (orlando).
LOL…….I call it shellback…..

I agree I4, I75 and I95 are not for the faint of heart.

Nextdoor neighbor went to MCO to pick up her grandson Thrusday afternoon and they were stuck on the I95 for 3 1/2 hours because of a terrible crash on their way back. She said when they finally started moving they saw the vehicles and said she did not see how anyone could have survived the crash as the vehicles involved were pretty mangled. Sad situation.

Charade have a wonderful vacation.

I have been trying to post his since this earlier this morning. Finally I just sat down to finish it.

Went up to KSC yesterday with one of my fellow Rocket Sista’s. They are making progress on the tower for Artemis 2.
IMG_3886.jpeg

I surprised her with an uninterrupted visit to the Apollo/Saturn V Center. She was like a kid in candy shop taking photos.
IMG_3901.jpeg

IMG_3904.jpeg
I was happy to have another walk around. One of the employees told us that they were expecting over 5000 kids today for field trips. We saw a good portion of them when we entered when KSC opened. She said they called Friday during the school year Field Trip Friday. I will have to remember that.

We did see a IMAX on Deep Sky…….LOL…I looked over a couple of times during the movie and her eyes were closed. It was’nt that it was boring show it was more that we had lunch early and it was cool and dark in the cinema and when your over 65 and your belly is full this happens sometimes…….LOL….I will admit my head may have bobbled a few times.

We walked over to the Gateway Deep Space Launch Complex for a walk around.
IMG_3928.jpeg

IMG_3931.jpeg

I do like the design of the SpaceX space suits.

We then went to hear a short lecture on Mars. We did not fall asleep…LOL

Although I love space and space travel I tend to be a bit of a pessimist on the whole thing of occupying Mars. If man cannot get along here on earth were survival is relatively easy there is no way they can get along under the living conditions on Mars.

I think it is wonderful how NASA encourages the youth in the audience to seek a career in Engineering or some other field of higher education that will contribute to figuring out some of the difficulties in creating future spaceships and solving issues with future space exploration.

Have a wonderful Saturday everyone.

Currently at Reagan International airport. We are way too early. Our flight doesn’t leave until 3:39. I expected the airport to be very busy but it isn’t. We breezed through baggage check and TSA. So far everyone we encountered has been super nice and friendly. We will need to eat something before boarding since we don’t land until after 6 and breakfast was around 9:00. There is a crepe stand right outside our gate. Yum!

Safe flight and hope it gets in early, Charade. Glad you had such ease through the airport security. Crepes sound good.

Beautiful day.

We had a great time at our flower show, yesterday. Was not as crowded as we thought it could have been. Lunch was good as usual, and a fast line at the bakery, and scored two cannoli and a small cheesecake. Nothing left, but two of the pictures I took:IMG_4221.jpeg
