Something About Nothing............ #14

Looks like a slow day here.
I’m keep forgetting many of you still have jobs and work.

If you are like me, you will do a quick dance while singing the song, Take this job and shove it.

On the other hand, you just might not know that song…..

Lady of leisure here too.....I`m not long home after spending the day with my friend, decided not to go into town but we drove a couple of hours away and spent the day in a shopping Mall, not my idea of fun usually but we did have a nice day.

Nope never heard that song before.

How`s your weather now, any warmer?

I did manage to pick up a few things for myself, some make up, a couple of shirts for Tom and a couple of kitchen items Kyle might like for his place. My friend didn`t get any shorts, but she did get a load of clothes for their trip.

Had a nice lunch too, no need for dinner here, Tom made himself a huge french bread sandwich with every type of meat on it apparently for his dinner, not something he`d usually have for dinner but he enjoyed it.

Kettle was ready for me coming home, nice pot of tea and a fancy cake I brought home from one of the nicer stores down there, Tom`s eyes lit up when he saw them!!! Then I think it`ll be an early night with the tv on!

Tea first though :)

Quick stop in!!!!! Things are busy busy busy.

Our weather has finally warmed up. Had a fabulous weekend - enjoying the warm temps and bright sunshine filled skies. Honestly, it feels like a weight has been lifted and things feel tolerable again. Funny how just a shift in weather can make the days soooo much better.

Work is of course busy. Not much down time.

Dinner tonight is going to be Salisbury steak, mashed tatters and roasted asparagus.

Getting excited as I took Friday off of work and I'm flying to see my family this weekend. It will be a girls weekend. Even my nieces will be at my sister's this weekend. So we are looking forward to that.

Ok, nobody else took the bait.
:rotfl: I burst out laughing - there were patients waiting for their consult. They looked at me like I lost my noodle.
I sort of lost my taste for racing after watching the 2001 race where Dale. At least they mandated that device to protect the drivers, no others have perished since in a race…as far as I know.
I have seen the replays of that crash. He was a great driver - but also did many things that are NOT allowed anymore. It is not the same race it was years ago. The safety factors that are in place and how they design those cars is amazing.

I love days like that. DD and I did that on Sunday. Just went out shopping, I came home with nothing, but we had fun.

Well, I should get going. I still have things to do yet today.

Have a great day everyone!

It’s been busy couple of days here, tomorrow another one. Off to dermatologist, shocked DS let me talk him into making an appointment too. Figured just add his on after mine.

Would probably never had found it. Our dr moved from a health system to private practice near his home. Over the river and, literally, thru the woods for an hour’s drive. Had heck of time finding his new office the first time. Doesn’t look like one from the outside. All new area. He’s next to a Bentley dealer, entire area fancy-smancy. Looking forward to lunch nearby @ Japanese place afterwards.

I love the shark face on the ULA Rocket in the Rocket Garden.
I never noticed that, cool
Joy for how we keep time, twice a year. Not.
Seriously, it has to go.
We both love pancakes
I will do a “creep” now & again, as GD called them years ago. Anything stuffed with whipped cream & fruit (or chocolate) will quickly get my attention. Took a while but, got the hang of making them, only on special occasions tho
I think I told you, my husband, wonderful as he is, he is the "get the guy" guy.
Yes, you did. One of the few times “I got the guy”and it blew up in my face lol
Your hand rail will be perfect once it`s done,
It turned out great. He was going to do a chair rail sort of thing under it to hold it sturdy. He read my face it wasn’t really what i wanted. When I got back home today after errands, found out he went out & bought different hardware and made it happen without the trim. He knows the way to my heart.
And their doggy is such a dream, black shiny female lab, so well behaved and she settled really well.
Aw, sounds like a good girl. I cut my boy’s hair yesterday and today was bath day. He gets so many extra treats, he starting to go with the program and not fuss much

Once a year we'll have chicken and waffles
Now, we are talking! Well, long as you have just a bit of hot sauce on the table :)
Have you tried calling them too?
Repeatedly. I’ve been told anything verbal re the situation at this point is a waste of breath, a he-said, she-said thing.

The mr is prepared to pay in full. Doesn’t feel it’s worth going to small claims court and paying the fees & hassle.

Me, I want to see what the ‘family friend’ does to see if that door is going to shut completely. I’d be satisfied if he split the difference TBH. Just not right to pull that sort of stunt & do unauthorized work. He’s been around long enough to know better.
I have lost my favorite tupperware bowl
That’s a pain. Ridiculously, for me, it’s having bowl but have had the particular lids go missing???
I burst out laughing - there were patients waiting for their consult. They looked at me like I lost my noodle.
My work here is done :)
. It is not the same race it was years ago.
Thankfully, no. I was surprised that there wasn’t really that much push back from the fans as to the change

Take This Job and Shove it came out in 1977.

So it’s been a few years any one here knows that hit song….
I looked it up, I was 9/10 in 1977 and it never made the UK charts, guess that`s why I never heard of it.

It`s funny how some songs stick in your brain at times.

Yep, weather can make such a difference to one`s outlook on things at certain times of the year, glad yours is improving.

Sounds a wonderful weekend with family, good for the soul and sounds fun too.

Yes, sometimes when we don`t go deliberately looking for something we can come home with nothing, but go for a wander and no plans to buy anything......well, one can come home laden with bags!! It`s just nice to spend time with friends/family. Hope you have a lovely time :)

I agree, pancakes are not for everyday, a little treat now and again is certainly good for you, although now I`m still thinking I want pancakes!!

Glad you`re happy with the hand rail, and your mister is a gem, bless him!!! Well worth doing.

She is such a good dog, loves a pet then goes and lays down nicely and I wondered how she would react to my apparently spooky dining room, well spooky to one of my friend`s dogs. Kaiser, their German Sheperd that is a guard dog always gives the room a growl as he passes but doesn`t act spooked like Poppy does. She did stop at the door that was open, sniffed a little, did whimper somewhat and moved on but she never went in. Who knows.

Love that meme  and good luck with the appointments today!

Yesterday we had beautiful sunshine, today it`s grey and miserable, still cold.

Off to Kyle`s place today, he has some workmen coming to do a job, so rather than him take time off we can go over, it`s handy being 20 minutes away from his home. They shouldn`t be too long but we`ll have lunch over there I think.

Will make two small bacon, leek and mushroom quiches for dinner tonight, just have some salad to go with it then off out with my buddy for our solo dance classes. I`ll be ready to ache in the morning!!

But, Wednesday again, have a lovely one 😊

::yes::

Ah, back to every day commute is not fun. Particularly when I swear I heard a person as I came out the door. After got into car, thought maybe it was the screen door making an odd sound as it closed. As no one around I could see. Well, other than the loud truck passing by my street. And, as neared car, what? Ugh. Icy windows. A good amount of windshield wiper fluid, and good enough to see to drive. And yes car, icy conditions with it 38 out. Glad still will be seeing 57 degrees late this afternoon.

But who did I see after I was driving?

IMG_4190.jpeg

Ah yes, camel here. In his finest flower show reminder. Yep, time of year for the flower show, and it starts at the city convention center this coming Sunday. It’s early, as remember going on St. Patty’s Day, and quite the showing of very happy people outside the Hard Rock Cafe where we had a window view of them. We have attended the flower show for years. All looking forward to this one.

But as today? Yep, camel reminder that get over the hump of a day feeling, and yay, pay day Friday is then a day away. This Friday is a day after a rainy Thursday for me.

Haha, Keisha, that doggie pic is so true. We found out, can’t shut the bathroom door when our labs were alive. And the male jumped in my shower one time. Privacy not when they were around. The boxer was not as needy. Sadly, she’s also gone too. And I think I’m dog owning done and only dogs I will enjoy, are when my kids or friends may have them at their homes.

Ah, back to that week day routine I am. Never so glad to still see that weekend relaxing time. Well, for a few more years, will then be every day relaxing, as now that I decided to move that retirement date much closer.

Thus, wish for all to have a Wonderful Wednesday today. With for me, a sun filled day again. Starting with the sun a huge orange ball as was seen on the horizon today, through my heavily poop stained windows.

Yay for a nice enough weather day, for the last Wednesday in February.

Ooh time is going fast. Another fall fun trip now planned. Was only one, that was planned many months ago. Yep, little one is a travel sleuth, a quick finger typer, and lucky. Based on what she found out, and scored, we now have several more days added to start our first trip, and that new second one, though, will be much shorter than the first, as thought maybe even a short winter one to come?

Quick post while things are slow at work.
I got my appointment rescheduled for tomorrow, so by tomorrow afternoon I should have some results.

If you are like me, you will do a quick dance while singing the song, Take this job and shove it.

On the other hand, you just might not know that song…..
I remember that song.
When I left my job at JCPenney all those years ago I called my local oldies station and asked them to play We Gotta Get Out of This Place by The Animals.

Our weather has finally warmed up. Had a fabulous weekend - enjoying the warm temps and bright sunshine filled skies. Honestly, it feels like a weight has been lifted and things feel tolerable again. Funny how just a shift in weather can make the days soooo much better.
I am glad your weather is improving for you. We are still in what I call the rollercoaster phase. It will be 69 today but 44 on Sunday.

It is not the same race it was years ago. The safety factors that are in place and how they design those cars is amazing.
I’ve seen some drivers walk away from some incredible wrecks. It still makes me nervous watching how close they are together with the speed they are going.

I need to get back to posting Medicare payments.
Vacation is getting closer.

And a very good afternoon from a sunny but cold UK!!! Spring must be around the corner surely by now....hoping these little flowers popping up is a good sign it will be getting nicer soon.

It is gorgeous outside, sitting here with the warm sun streaming in, but so cold out there, no plans to go back out today. Busy morning getting some shopping and some jobs done.

Finally having our chicken piccata tonight, Tom is out volunteering so I`m pottering around not doing very much apart from laundry and trying to get into this book my friend gave me, I will persevere.

Kettle on, pot of tea and back to the old book with a cuppa and a Danish Pastry, cherry flavoured from the cafe we had lunch in.

Very sad to read about Gene Hackman and his wife, amazing actor over his career.

Have a lovely Thursday :)

I just left the imaging center about 20 minutes ago. The results-

I have areas of calcifications that are not a concern. Another small area of calcifications they can’t fully determine, so they want to keep watch on it. I will have another mammogram in 6 months.

I am breathing a huge sigh of relief.

The imaging center has a basket full of these in the waiting room.

Off to dermatologist,
I hope your derm appointment goes well and you get some help!!!
The mr is prepared to pay in full. Doesn’t feel it’s worth going to small claims court and paying the fees & hassle.
Yes, it's sad that is the best solution most of the time. We've done that option too, but not happily

And the dog's name is Molly? Robin's dog is named Molly that's why I remembered. I love dogs, especially if they are as well behaved as that Molly was. I think it's interesting that dogs avoid your dining room. They seem to have better senses than we do. I wonder why the dining room????
Vacation is getting closer.
9 more days now. Yea! That's no time at all now:)
Trying, I wanna hit UO for Mardi gras. Opening week 2 days in Epic.
Mardi gras would be fun at Universal. Let us know if you get to go!
Very sad to read about Gene Hackman and his wife, amazing actor over his career
Yes, it sounds like carbon monoxide poisoning, which is horrible. At first, I thought it was murder and suicide. Very sad indeed.
I am breathing a huge sigh of relief.
Charade I'm so glad for your good news. I have to have a mammo every year due to fibrocystic breast disease and they always check out the calcification. They are very careful to keep an eye on those things, for which I am grateful. So happy for you:)

Pumpkin: I love shopping trips where you have nothing in mind and just look for good deals. I like thrifting too with my daughter. Those trips are such fun with laughter and good food too!

Robo, you are so lucky to be able to spend the day at the KSC. I've never been but it is on my bucket list. I enjoyed your pictures of the KSC, thank you:)

A hello to Lynne and Mac!!!!

I just got my Long hair cut this AM, and I love it. It hits at my jaw line and is layered all over. I got it cut just in time for another cold spell! Oh well, it's that time of year for schizophrenic weather.
Doing laundry now and looking out at the snow under my clothesline, sigh..... I can't wait til I can get out and hang things in the fresh air. Of course, with the thaw out comes the bears out of hibernation.
I hope that this year they don't decide to roam in our yard all summer, like last year. That was no fun. Usually, they wander through looking for food in the Spring and then don't come back. If they find food, they will recheck. We didn't put bird seed out in the spring last year, but they were a nuisance anyway!

Have a good week everyone and keep warm! (except for those lucky ones who live in the warm climates, lol)

Admit to loving the 1st generation of Pokémon, youngest DS still has his charzard card in hand, surprised he hasn’t sold it by now. Does have big collection of various genres, his man cave is stuffed with his various collections…it was inevitable, in our genes lol

Bought 2 doz eggs today “on sale” for $5 a dozen. Like hitting the lottery! Lol

And I think I’m dog owning done
I say that every time a beloved pet passes. Have always opened up our hearts to one that needs a home, will call it destiny.
Yep, little one is a travel sleuth
That’s a profitable hobby to have! I stalked for a decent deal on that secret bonus cruise for the mr’s BD. Had almost given up and veered to Myrtle Beach instead. Looking forward to it.
I called my local oldies station and asked them to play We Gotta Get Out of This Place by The Animals.
Love The Animals, House of the Rising Sun has been a favorite since I was a kid and heard that “new” to me, such a soulful, bluesy sound on the car radio one day. Never looked back :)
Very sad to read about Gene Hackman and his wife, amazing actor over his career.
Shocking
I am breathing a huge sigh of relief.
So happy for you!
Yes, it's sad that is the best solution most of the time. We've done that option too, but not happily
The owner called my DH yesterday who “conveniently” missed the call. Lol. We all laughed, as he knows how forgiving my DH is. I’m his pit bull, somebody has to play “bad cop”.

All good, let’s just say he saw the light, we are square. To think that little um shoot as a kid, would sat at my table and eat me out of homemade cookies. Hmmph
At first, I thought it was murder and suicide. Very sad indeed.
Me too, hadn’t heard otherwise. Guilty as charged tho, you mind does tend to go there in these times.
I just got my Long hair cut this AM, and I love it. It hits at my jaw line and is layered all over. I got it cut just in time for another cold spell!
Nice! You are blessed with such lovely, thick hair. Absolutely perfect for that sort of style. I do think once women get to a certain age that longer, straight hair does tend to date them. Meanwhile, a bob seems made for them. Wish my hair was thick enough to layer, file that under grass is always greener…

Mac - I give credit to those who are brave enough to travel solo. Have never had an issue finding family to come along, fact that it’s all usually on my dime probably sweetens that pot lol

Can’t say I’m comfortable with even flying by myself. I’ve always been surprised there isn’t a thread here, a consolidated sort for U & WDW, where people interested in meeting up with others the parks can post their dates and make plans via PM.

Long day today and I am glad it’s almost over. This morning I dropped my car at the shop for an oil change and brake flush. Dh and I had breakfast at waffle house and then went to Walmart so he could buy some shorts for our trip. I’m a little annoyed at him. He had plenty of shorts from our last trip but donated them all to charity. He seems to need shorts every time we take a trip. Next we spent a little over 2 hours at the imaging center. That was fun (insert sarcasm here), but at least the results were good. Then we went to the running store so dh could get a new pair of shoes. I hope he has time to break them in before the trip. We then went to the mall where I did a little shopping while dh went back to the running store to get his phone that he had left. Finally home and I was going to take a nap, but the mechanic called and said my car was ready. Dh dropped me off at the auto shop and he went to the gym. I tried to nap when I got home, but couldn’t fall asleep. When dh got back from the gym we all went to dinner. After dinner I did some stitching while we watched North By Northwest. I fell asleep during the movie, so now I am wide awake again.

Very sad to read about Gene Hackman and his wife, amazing actor over his career.
Very sad indeed. I hope their family is able to get some answers soon.

Rainy day. But hey, 60 degrees this late afternoon. Then we see mid 30’s this weekend. Sigh. But hey, March 1st is Sunday.
I hate this roller coaster weather. I never know what season to keep in my closet.

Can’t say I’m comfortable with even flying by myself.
I had finally gotten comfortable flying by myself, but the plane crashes this year are making me nervous again.

I just got my Long hair cut this AM, and I love it. It hits at my jaw line and is layered all over. I got it cut just in time for another cold spell! Oh well, it's that time of year for schizophrenic weather.
Sounds like a fun, summer cut. I hope the weather warms up soon for you. I am way overdue for a haircut.

Caspian slept through the movie and now thinks it is play time. This may be a long night.
