Something About Nothing............ #14

Yum, DJ. We had Chinese, oh well. No tacos for us. Though my older kid likes Taco Bell, so maybe after my haircut tomorrow, he’ll enjoy a meal with me there, as he has off tomorrow. So maybe Taco Thursday for us. Lol

But today? Like Florida, rainy day. And who do I see?

IMG_3680.jpeg

Yep, rainy Wednesday for many of us. Hope Keisha gets good news and a quick appointment in this early morning, where not only me left the house a few minutes after 5 am. Older one has to open this morning.

And so, get over this hump of a day feeling, and that fabulous Friday will then be a day away.

Sigh, one more day, after today, of commuting. Hope they sooner than later, allow less in office days and allow moving those days, if needed. One of my colleagues left, and announced during our all office meeting, she was leaving to another agency that has all telework, no in office time. I guess until enough leave due to the telework policy or a high level person leaves for that reason, no change will happen. Seems odd that there is different telework polices depending on which one you work at. And even more odd, we had a a full two day a pay in office policy, before the virus put us all teleworking, then edict to get back to in office, made us more in office than before we had been. Sigh. But who am I to complain, did 5 days a week for years until laptops became the office norm, and the connectivity got upgraded. But as did have that no in office years, I saw the benefits of that. And now, much rather have more telework days than in office ones. Off ranting soap box now.

AC still on in the office, so jacket and blanket across my lap. Said won’t turn on heat until mid November. If it was anything like turning on the AC that took a few days to figure out, we may still have a cool office until the heat does work.

Ah time to refill that tea in my cup. Had to change the water bottle, as sputtered as I tried the tab. Thankfully, no lifting it high required anymore.

Most Wonderful Wednesday today. Stay dry and safe those in that hurricane’s path. Thinking of TinyD who will have it coming through where she is, hope no flooding for her, and staying safe too.

Early morning stop in.

Looks like it will be a busy day on the unit today. Manager is on holidays and one sick call today - means we are definitely going to be spread thin.

I almost forgot I had a hair appointment last night. Now my color is refreshed and gave it a good chop as well. I am praying she didn't take too much off that I won't be able to pull it back for our trip. I have zero desire to be wearing the hair down in that heat and humidity. Good thing my hair grows extremely fast.

Quiet night with a phone call to my sister last night. No walk - as I didn't get home until late from my hair appointment.

Well, I should run and get started on my day :surfweb:

Have a great day everyone!!!!

Happy new hair do!

Well, mine is too short to put up in a decent ponytail now, it looks like a little stub if I do, so I don’t. But it’s actually ok not being up even in this heat as it sits just on the shoulder.

Your countdown is getting closer

Off & on rain today, got caught in it a couple of times today = drowned rat look. Tomorrow some crack of dawn tests @ hospital. Thank you to my dr’s staff for scheduling them to point I have to leave house in the dark. Least it’s the local one, don’t have to battle traffic into the city. Going to reward myself with Starbucks (with lots of whipped cream) after :)

I’d say no big loss…

However, it is only as it eats the crowds. They need to replace it with something else, post haste.

That’s is stunning

Isn’t that the worst. DH says he gets nervous coming home as I tend to decide something needs to be “freshened” up i.e. minor project lol

Yea! I’ve taken to using the claw sort of clips, avoids the ridges in hair from the scrunchie/pony band.

Good luck with the early appointments! And yes, anything with lots of cream sounds good as a treat.

Yes, F&F won’t be missed, most of the staff were just going through the motions in the live scenes, awful ride.

I love the view from our suite, and that sunrise is always exceptional. I admit to getting up early to wander through to the sitting room and watch it, always stunning.

I think this is the first September ever we haven’t had rain during the day at all….no 3pm downpours, no storms, it has been amazing weather. I think we’ve been lucky so far as everyone is telling us August especially had a lot of rain every day, glad we missed it!

Of course later today and tomorrow might change that, but it’ll pass and if we get rain after that, well, we’ve had the best weather so far, so no complaints. Hotel have said nothing to be concerned about and looking at the latest this morning, no plans to worry here in Orlando. Fingers crossed!

Haven’t missed going to horror nights at all this trip, I don’t think we’ll ever go back to them either listening to all the comments.

Haven’t decided what to do today, might pop into the park for an hour then some Mall shopping, tomorrow night is dinner with friends who are here from Ohio, looking forward to that a lot!

Lazy breakfast over in the lounge first, always a good start to the day!

Happy Wednesday :)

Little bit of a breeze starting now and some cloud cover, but still hot!

No one is expecting much of anything here, maybe some rain and some wind, but nothing major.

Coming out of the park now, back home to shower and change and head off somewhere for lunch and shopping!

I assume it’s possible we could be losing power soon due to the new alert of how the storm tracking will hit my area.

Seems like some hope it might bounce away from where we are depending on what happens in the next few hours.
Hope you guys keep power or have a genny. Have a lot of family in the direct path from Destin up to Tennessee. We just did a Hurricane snack run as we are canceling everything tomorrow and Friday. Genny is fueled along with backup. 80 gallons of gas between the three vehicles. With the ground so saurated I expect a lot of tree damage around us to knock out power intermittently.

We were half temped to make a run to Orlando to meet up. DW is still recovering from surgery and it would be real stretch.

It's hump day - Quick stop in!

Quiet night last night. Honestly after the past couple of days - I was tired. Dh went to bed early - so it was just me, the laptop and the remote. It was a beautiful day yesterday - I grilled some chicken and tatters. But I just couldn't find the energy to get a walk in last night. Today it's raining - I'm hoping that it will stop sometime today so get a walk in tonight.

Taco Tuesday. Got treated to Talking Tacos Bang Bang Shrimp tacos for lunch
Those look delicious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So maybe Taco Thursday for us. Lol
Nothing wrong with a taco any day ;) It is interesting to hear how different work places are working their commuting vs remote working days. I know dd is VERY lucky that she will be able to keep her job with them moving here - she will have to go into their offices once a month for a few days. So Grammie will be up to help out when dd will be in the city for in-person meetings.

It's great you have had amazing weather - besides what's coming in now. Your pictures are AMAZING!!!!!

Stay safe! I'll be sending lots of positive thoughts for you to stay safe!!!!

Stay safe as well! It sounds like you're well prepared for it.

Well, I should get back to work. Much easier day today, since the casual gal is here. So I am getting her to do most of the work so that she can handle the days working alone while I'm gone.

Have a great day everyone. Stay safe!!!!!!!!!!

Looking forward to new series on FX tonight, Grotesquerie. Never a fan of the old Matlock, was going to skip the preview of new show with that name starring Kathy Bates. Well, until I saw all the fuss about the “twist”, pretty cool. Also, caught the 1st episode of High Potential, entertaining. First season in ages, I’ve found a few new shows to watch on regular tv
Hope Keisha gets good news and a quick appointment in this early morning,
Thanks, i knew when I found out how many subterranian levels the parking garage does have would equate to a long morning. They are so busy now that the sleepy local hospital has been turned into one of the main imaging sites for this half of the state. No more same day results, crapola lol
And now, much rather have more telework days than in office ones. Off ranting soap box now.
Don’t blame you there one bit. The corporations complain they can’t keep employees. Flexibility as to hours/days worked strikes me as a good incentive
I think this is the first September ever we haven’t had rain during the day at all….no 3pm downpours, no storms, it has been amazing weather.
Lucky you! I’ve gotten drenched when out, with umbrella setting in car, 3 days this week. That’s what i get for being an eternal weather optimist l

It’s a rainy day in Georgia for me.
Don’t change that dial. Actually, you may just luck out with the approaching storm
Seems like some hope it might bounce away from where we are depending on what happens in the next few hours.
Don’t change that dial, I still predict it’s going to hang a left & west of you.
We were half temped to make a run to Orlando to meet up. DW is still recovering from surgery and it would be real stretch
I was so surprised to find out how many widows with dogs shelter @ the Loews hotels…this coming from a person who is highly allergic to dog dander. RP seems to be the worst for that for some reason?

Woohoo! We’re not far behind you. Reminds me to nudge the mr’s family along there as to packing

Good evening everyone. Nothing interesting going on here. I am ready for this rain to end. I’m not sure how much the storm will affect us. I just hope the rain isn’t too bad for our drive to NC this weekend.
I decided to order myself a new rain jacket and rain boots. Both arrived today, but the jacket has to be returned. I ordered a size larger than I usually wear, but it was snug. I want to have enough room for it to fit over a sweatshirt.

Also, I did hear Fast & Furious is not reopening after HHN…..not confirmed or official of course
If it is true I hope they get something good to replace it.

Tomorrow some crack of dawn tests @ hospital. Thank you to my dr’s staff for scheduling them to point I have to leave house in the dark.
Hope all went well. I hate early morning appointments.

Sigh, one more day, after today, of commuting. Hope they sooner than later, allow less in office days and allow moving those days, if needed.
I so wish I could work from home, but that’s not really feasible with my job. During the pandemic I was alone in the office most of the time which was nice.

Well, mine is too short to put up in a decent ponytail now, it looks like a little stub if I do, so I don’t.
That’s how mine is now. If I want to get my hair off my neck I usually go with 2 stubby ponytails. (Not in public though.)

I assume it’s possible we could be losing power soon due to the new alert of how the storm tracking will hit my area.
Prayers that you don’t lose power. We have considered buying a generator.

It's single digit dance time
Yay!!

I think I will go get my little suitcase and get ready to start packing. I’m looking forward to this weekend getaway even if we might get rained on.

And still had to use my wipers this morning. Roads were wet, as were sidewalks. But they did say, lesser chances of rain today, though rain showers will be around. Umbrella in my office again. Learned my lesson, wet clothes, no matter office dress or not, not fun. Been using the bathroom heaters to dry a few times. Doesn’t really help that much. But at least I’m not that far from home.

Like these early mornings, as no one here until around 1/2 hour from now. That way, almost all early birds can leave the earliest after core hours end at 3 pm. But today, talk about different places, we are on a complex run by others, and they only come in 2 days a week, so today, just me and another car to enter.

Hope all in the hurricane’s path, are hunkered down, and have their generator ready, and food and drink that does not need to be cold, with flashlights ready if need be. Eek, last night they said may turn into a 4 level storm. Storm surge for those along the coast. Stay safe, leave if you have to. Hope to hear no one lost. Stuff can be replaced.

Ooh time for more tea, fitting for this wet still and cool inside Thirsty Thursday. Drink up, not only will the storm will have been gone for many tomorrow, means tomorrow is Friday. Woot!

Hehe, 90 days from today. :santa:

Team Coke here, but I grew up in the suburbs of Atlanta, GA.

I am so bored today. I have absolutely nothing to do.

Waiting to see if the hurricane will impact our football game this weekend. We are going no matter what. We have entered the non refundable phase of our motel reservation.
