Something About Nothing............ #14

Gorgeous weather!!

IMG_3749.jpeg

Went to the parks early-ish…..back home to get changed and out for lunch.

Met the adorable snoopboop last night in StrongWater, I was so happy she came over to introduce herself and her family, we were glad to meet you!

Happy Sunday, another hot one here, this is still one happy lizard!

DH called, and he’s feeling better. I think almost everyone in his unit got the virus. Got an update from his team, yesterday afternoon, and while he’ll need support when he comes home, the date he gets out is still as planned, as of yesterday.

Continued Prayers, Pixie Dust and Banana Farts for y’all L!

Happy Monday. Slow day again today. I have been comparing flight prices for our Disney trip. The prices out of my local airport are insane. I hope they will drop considerably over the next few months or we might be driving.

Good luck getting a new washer, Charade. Ack to being soaked. Compared to our old one, our new one does a much better job, and love the clear top the new one of ours has. DH was not impressed, but I love it. We paid to have the old one taken away and the new one put in. I know we could have done it, but I told DH, let’s just pay for it, rather than having to put it in his truck, and go to the township to pay to take the old one away. The guys that did the swap for us, were very fast, came as said they would, and took all the trash away from the new one, as well as the old one.
What kind did you get? I think our new one is an LG. We chose to go with a simpler model with less electronic displays. It should be delivered tomorrow. We also paid to have the old one hauled away. Totally worth the extra charge.

DH called, and he’s feeling better. I think almost everyone in his unit got the virus. Got an update from his team, yesterday afternoon, and while he’ll need support when he comes home, the date he gets out is still as planned, as of yesterday. So we get training a few days before his release date. Life will certainly be different, but this too will be our new normal before you know it.
Glad to hear he is improving and still on track to be released when you expect.

Dh is watching the nascar race
A disappointing one for us.

Gorgeous weather!!
Beautiful view! So looking forward to our trip in November.

Almost time for lunch.

Quick Monday morning stop in!!!!

I thought my casual gal was in today - nope....I was reading the wrong week last week. She's not here until Wednesday. I was late for work today :scared: My alarm didn't go off again today. I'm not sure why, but this is the second Monday it has done that.

Quiet day yesterday. Groceries were bought and I whipped up scalloped potatoes, ham and corn on the cob for dinner. Watched Deathly Hallows 1...one more Sunday night movie - then we are on our way!!!!!!!

Dh must be getting excited as well. Yesterday he was downloading all the apps, trying to remember which rides we had on our previous trip - and trying to remember which ride was in which park. I am hoping this time he can relax a little more and take in what's around us. Since He will know his way around the parks a little better this time. He was talking with ds's about riding this ride, and this one, and this one!!!

I’am at the Heart hospital this morning sitting in the waiting room while hubby is having his heart stress test. This was planned a number of weeks ago. He is having test done to see if he could tolerate having back surgery.
I hope it went great and he's fit enough for the surgery.

It was good to hear your trip with your sister went good. I'm hoping as I get older my younger sisters will want to do some sister vacations together.
103 today was the real feel, hot enough for this lizard. Gosh, I might even do a pool night tonight.
Lizard mode engaged ::yes:: Let that heat soak into the bones.
Made some pecan bars with chocolate drizzle. Shortbread base with a caramelized filling reminiscent of pecan pie
yum!!!!!!
A disappointing one for us.
At least it was the Hendrick's team. Dh was very happy Kyle won. I still think Bryon has the better looking cars ;)

Well, I should get more things ticked off my to-do list. I got the immediate needs completed. Just waiting for one return phone call. Hopefully that happens soon :surfweb:

Have a great day everyone!

Just inside the cone on Thursday. Wet and wild either way. We're high and dry a couple miles from the coast. Creek in the backyard is minimum 25 feet below our house so we won't get waterlogged too bad.
Gonna trim limbs tomorrow just in case. Prayers for anyone else in the path.153941_5day_cone_no_line_and_wind.png

Food sounds gorgeous Janet, they’re in for a treat, yes then sit back and chill out and no pasta in sight!
Golf outing was lovely, for lizards. How hot was it? Let’s just say the course wound up taking on average over 6 hours for the groups.

Don’t want to look @ pasta for a long time. It was a big hit. We won grand raffle prize…a beverage cooler we promptly told Jr he’s taking for the man cave he’s working on getting together. Already have 2 mini fridges that are fine & dandy, more stuff we don’t need lol
I can't believe people are bringing young babies and toddlers to this event? What is wrong with them?
oh, I could go on, do you have an hour? Lol

I silently say a prayer when i see a baby obviously, no more than a few weeks old in the parks. No hat, nor sun shade, etc.

Well, today, I finally woke up without pain. That makes it 7 weeks with back pain. Hope it is all gone for good:)
Wonderful!
It is a crab apple tree so no big loss. There has been evidence of a bear being in the yard too, but I haven't seen any lately.
Ugh the flowers are pretty in the spring, that’s it. Once of my chores as a kid was to keep the crab apples that had fallen off the tree picked up so the deer/bears/lord knows what didn’t attract to back yard & then decide to raid the garden & trash cans.

Those apples smelled so bad & were mushy gross, God forbid I would be provided a pair of work gloves lol
Tomorrow is FootBall!!!! Of course. I love football Sundays and am a happy couch potato all day
110%. It’s been a great couple of weeks, some very close games.
Life will certainly be different, but this too will be our new normal before you know it.
That’s a wonderful attitude, wishing you all well!
but it is a powder and add a little water and chug
Interesting, both in the delivery & fact yours is related to change in barometer. I’m new to this lol
If it's a top load - will you get one with an agitator or without?
I love no agitation, both in life & in my washer. Seems to get clothes cleaner & less wear & tear on the delicates. Those I’d never wash in a traditional washer
pecan pie.
Drool. Nobody here will eat pecan pie, no idea what they are missing. I’ve discovered it’s difficult to find a quality slice in most restaurants. Most seem to be a pudding sort of gel with some pecans tossed in as an accent. Hmmph
Just inside the cone on Thursday
Looks like the spaghetti is still all over the place. They are hedging on it not even forming past a tropical storm all the way up to biggest storm of season. Guess they like to hedge their bets.
IMG_3453.png
One interesting track has it hooking to the mid-west, inland and circling back around to the gulf. That’s different

IMG_3454.jpeg
What’s going on with transformers today?

Wait times above 80 minutes the entire day
I blame Carole, she’s probably looping it

:p

JK believe it’s not on her hit parade.

In answer to your Q, no idea. However, an unofficial welcome to the SAN thread

Feast or famine! The parks do have a different rhythm on nights where there are special events or close early

Long ago, remember a local we’d see every haunt season who would regale us with stories of golfers getting chased by these wild “swamp” hogs on the course. Said the owner’s encouraged the neighbors to hunt them after the golfers had departed for the day.

Whiz ‘wit?

The fear of God (nee parents) was what kept most of my peers in line.

After hearing that several years back in response to a Q i posed to a guide as to why the houses had originally “stunk” that year, then perked up the next weekend…

Shared that they expect a certain % of new hires to not cut the mustard. I took to asking same Q of any emplooyee’s ear I could find. It’s become common.

Used to people would work PT @ U just so they could have 1st consideration to be a scareactor, long abandoned practice. RIP chain saw wolves

Time to start planning the next trip. Actually, I usually find myself doing a bit of it when on most trips (as to checking rates, availability lol)

Aw, that’s sweet. Hoping he passed his test!

I’ve been in that demographic for ahem longer than I care to remember. Actually, it really doesn’t bother me one bit as I know 30 y.o.’s that act like they are in the 70’s.

Ouch. Do you use RX? Was finally diagnosed with ocular type. Supposed to see a neuro something or other for that…on the bottom of the to-do list at this point, take a number. Family dr did prescribe something as they had become more frequent over the last 15 years. Would you believe I haven’t had one in a week & a half? Maybe the idea of another RX scared them away lol

Haha i haven’t been able to lay on my stomach comfortably since I graduated from a training bra:crazy:

Good to see somebody appreciate some red sauce! My DH won’t touch it, even on pizza. All these years later & I still can’t wrap my head around that.

Have a great time!

Even in the parks, I’ve always been the sort who wants to see what’s on the other side of hill lol

So much smoother when cross stitching.

coming from one who has accidently stuck herself countless times with a sewing needle…The sharper they are, the less painful. It’s those dull edge ones that really hurt.

Don’t you have one in the bullpen? :magnify:

Modern gals seem to have more on their plate now, being superwomen than back in the day. Most families, when they do care to help out, it seems to be more of a team effort.

Sadly,I know several elderly who need help, having healthy, retired immediate family living within a mile who need to use social agencies for any sort of assistance. SMH

It’s glaring how they have tightened up spending in the parks, more so than after covid.

I’d truly hate to see the existing parks relegated to red head stepchild :duck:status

Rarely get into U parks at night unless an event or holiday parade etc. Forgot how pretty they are, especially IOA with the lights reflecting on the lake

He is such a busy guy! Know you must miss him already

Getting ready to hit the ground running…one more coffee required

Feeling like that last rose of summer, woke up @ 5am and couldn’t fall back asleep. Least I cleared off some old Alfred Hitchcock shows from the DVR. The one good thing about losing sleep one night, typically sleep like a log the next!

Have a great day all.

I’m hearing some good things about the original parks for the future, but right blow it’s all Epic, but it’ll be worth it I think.

Yes, they are very pretty at night aren’t they. We’ve done it once so doubt we’ll go back in though unless it’s to do Hagrids in the dark which is very nice.

He’s so busy which is good but said the half marathon on Sunday was so cold, first of the year that felt miserable, but he still got a fabulous time. He has a couple more long runs in training for the marathon next month, don’t know how he does it!

It sounds like a lot of people are quitting the HHN lately? I always thought it would be a fun thing for the young people to do as scare actors. But now it seems some people have ruined it for them, grrr.

I can't believe people are bringing young babies and toddlers to this event? What is wrong with them?

LOL, and you won't utter those words will you?

It sounds like a relaxing time visiting with old and new friends.

I'm so glad to hear that the compression sock is working for him.

Well, today, I finally woke up without pain. That makes it 7 weeks with back pain. Hope it is all gone for good:)

Sounds like a lovely trip. I've never stayed at Portofino, but will venture over and check it out this time.

I hope all goes well with your husband's test. Is it a routine test?

What a sweetheart:)

The massage is next week, so will have her take it easy with my back. Don't feel confident enough yet to have a full back massage or to do too much.

LOL. I have more bear stories now. We have a big apple tree in the front yard and a big bear has been tearing the limbs down and climbing it. So, Roger is going to have to cut it down to keep the bears out of the yard. It is a crab apple tree so no big loss. There has been evidence of a bear being in the yard too, but I haven't seen any lately. It sure has been a weird year with so many bears coming around. I hope this is a one and done thing, LOL>

I love more relaxing trips. We used to do the commando type trips with the kids, but now we find time to relax and enjoy the atmosphere now.

Well wishes to Kyle for his half marathon coming up:)

LOL! I can lay on the massage table on my stomach, but it's not easy:) We'll see how that goes. I'm hoping it doesn't aggravate my back. I've had enough of being careful and walking on eggs around here!!!!

Isn't that the truth. I was more afraid of what my Dad would think and do if I ever tried anything. That kept me in line in my younger years:) He was also on the school board, so I had to be good.

I have only been in the parks at dark for the Holiday parade. This time we will definitely go to the parks at night.

Wow, it just keeps getting earlier and earlier for Christmas things. Our Hobby Lobby put out all their trees and decorations a month ago! Way too early.

Yes, today is the first day I feel "normal". Yea!

After 7 weeks, I finally woke up to No back pain and No soreness!!!! To say I am happy is an understatement. I drove to town to take supplies to Mom and did not have back pain or tightness at all> I'm almost afraid to do anything in fear it will come back. I have Never had back pain last this long before. There was no nerve involvement - it was all muscular which is a big relief. So, I am hopeful for our November 2nd trip:) We had another trip before that involving driving to Tennessee to see my brother, but that trip is off for now. It involves a day and a half drive each way, which is not something I want to try at this time. Riding in a car has been irritating to my back.

It's beautiful out today with sunny skies and 70's, However, we will get in the 60's with lows in the 40's this week! I love fall, but it doesn't hang around long here. No big plans today, just need to work on the table topper quilt I am making. I only do a little at a time. It takes longer, but is easier on the back.

Tomorrow is FootBall!!!! Of course. I love football Sundays and am a happy couch potato all day:)

Hope everyone else has a happy couch potato day.
Hi to everyone I have missed quoting!

ruth

I was shocked the first time we went in 07 seeing a couple of young kids and maybe a couple of strollers to it developing into loads of them. And yes the teen behaviour has got worse too, folks that have been going for years could write a book.

I almost missed the bear story! That is scary, hope you continue to not see any of them, it’s creepy to think of them roaming around though! I continue to be grateful we only have foxes and deer roaming around!!!

So glad the back pain is gone! It was maybe a good idea to postpone the trip to your brother, don’t want to annoy it before your trip with your son.

Catch up soon :)

Probably not as bad as the doom and gloom sayers have been predicting…..we’ll deal with whatever happens. It’s been lovely and dry with no rain at all so far except for two nights at the beginning of the trip, so no complaints here, dry and hot all the way.

lol…..yep, not my fault there, never ride it. I did notice Spider-Man was a lot rougher than usual this time, unusual as it’s always fine.

Also, I did hear Fast & Furious is not reopening after HHN…..not confirmed or official of course :rolleyes1

What can I say……still having the best time and lots of catching up with friends and more to come!

Sunrise over RP from our lagoon view…..

Gorgeous!

Still haven’t decided what to do today, will head over to Club Lounge for breakfast then make up our minds……decisions……:)

I am up way too early today. Our new washer is scheduled to be delivered between 10:30-2:30. My workday is 9-3, so there’s really no point in going in today.

Watched Deathly Hallows 1...one more Sunday night movie - then we are on our way!!!!!!!
Hope you have a wonderful trip. I am counting the days to November.

This is one thing I don’t miss about living in Florida. Safe wishes for you snd your family.

I love no agitation, both in life & in my washer. Seems to get clothes cleaner & less wear & tear on the delicates. Those I’d never wash in a traditional washer
We decided to go with an agitator, but now I am wondering if we made the right decision. Our old one dies not have an agitator. I can see pros and cons of both.

Trying to decide if I want to go back to sleep or get up and be productive. I could start cleaning the house. We leave for North Carolina on Friday and I hate coming home to a messy house.

Early morning stop in.

Looks like it will be a busy day on the unit today. Manager is on holidays and one sick call today - means we are definitely going to be spread thin.

I almost forgot I had a hair appointment last night. Now my color is refreshed and gave it a good chop as well. I am praying she didn't take too much off that I won't be able to pull it back for our trip. I have zero desire to be wearing the hair down in that heat and humidity. Good thing my hair grows extremely fast.

Quiet night with a phone call to my sister last night. No walk - as I didn't get home until late from my hair appointment.

Well, I should run and get started on my day :surfweb:

Have a great day everyone!!!!

Off & on rain today, got caught in it a couple of times today = drowned rat look. Tomorrow some crack of dawn tests @ hospital. Thank you to my dr’s staff for scheduling them to point I have to leave house in the dark. Least it’s the local one, don’t have to battle traffic into the city. Going to reward myself with Starbucks (with lots of whipped cream) after :)

Also, I did hear Fast & Furious is not reopening after HHN…..not confirmed or official of course
I’d say no big loss…

However, it is only as it eats the crowds. They need to replace it with something else, post haste.
Sunrise over RP from our lagoon view
That’s is stunning
We leave for North Carolina on Friday and I hate coming home to a messy house
Isn’t that the worst. DH says he gets nervous coming home as I tend to decide something needs to be “freshened” up i.e. minor project lol
Now my color is refreshed and gave it a good chop as well. I am praying she didn't take too much off that I won't be able to pull it back for our trip
Yea! I’ve taken to using the claw sort of clips, avoids the ridges in hair from the scrunchie/pony band.
