Good morning/almost afternoon. I didn't sleep well last night, so ended up waking up very late this morning. Thankfully I don't have to work today. I am the only one in the house not working.


Yay! It should start cooling down soon. I think this week we are going to have temps in the high 70s.


So far 9 people I know personally have come down with it.

Ouch! Hope it is much better today.


Happy belated birthday to her.


Yes, this is her first time with Covid. Thankfully it is very mild. Her only symptom is a cough.


Congrats to Kyle on the race and new car.

I'm going to do a load of laundry and then be lazy for a while.

Hopefully you`ll sleep better tonight, it`s not fun not sleeping. And glad your daughter only has a mild strain, should be clear soon.

Thank you, he is thrilled with both!!! Enjoy that lazy time, we all need some of that.





Lamps are now on around the house before 8pm, but not that it`s a bad thing, I don`t mind cosy nights.

Dinner was nice, made some strawberry ice cream today so had some of that afterwards too, with clotted cream....yep, I`ll never be slim!!

I think we`ll be having an early night tonight, both of us are yawning our heads off, might pop the tv on and watch some tv for a while in bed, definitely a lazy night here.

Bit chilly here after being in 90’s yesterday, no pool time, too much effort lol. Wrapped up in a throw blanket, getting ready to try to read a newish book the library finally had available…Crichton & Patterson - Eruption. Only problem, they send large print copy. Ugh not sure if i can last thru it.

Happy Labor Day to the US crew and Happy Monday to all!
Lazy recovery day today, we did two back to back 10 hr days in parks. DW was in wheelchair or pushing it most of both days so got cardio for sure. She is progressing, one more surgery and she should be good.
As a note, her clots are believed to be long term results of Covid so be sure to check up any unusual pains after a case.
She was up for 20k step days and 5k runs prior.
Crowds were lighter than we expected so we only used my friends disability pass a few time. We walked on a couple rides and used single rider a few. He's good up to 15 minutes or so in a line.
Hope everyone has a Spectacular September!!!

Thank you, yes he`s having quite the year with everything so far and still another marathon and a few half marathons to do! Oh it`s so typical with the dental appointment, but can`t be helped. I said to Tom before we went to bed last night, I should be sitting in agony right now ...he said I sounded so disappointed lol....

So many folks have so many issues after having covid. My nephews wife was off work for almost two years and has been back now almost full time for about 6 months, she`s a nurse, but so many health issues and it`s not just a few people we hear about. Glad to hear your wife is almost recovered.




Rain and cloud today, but that humidity is still around and barely a breath out there again.

I had planned a day at home today doing absolutely nothing as I expected to be quite uncomfortable, but now might pop out for a time, although hope the rain goes off after breakfast and we`ll get out. Weatherman says cooler temps are on the way.

Woke up with a slight headache, I think due to very low pressure outside, so very early pot of tea for me while my husband sleeps! No reason to get up early for him today.

Such a quiet time of year right now, not much going on here at all I think folks are already settling in for autumn hitting us. Haven`t seen a winter coat I like enough to buy one yet this year, so much brown and olive green around! Might just stick to the plum coloured one I bought last year, I do love that one. I have a winter white one but I don`t wear that often as any mark at all will show up like crazy, I am a little paranoid when I wear it.

Croissants with ham and brie and some melon this morning for breakfast, no idea for lunch and dinner will be chicken breasts in a gravy laced with cranberry and rosemary and usual sides.

I do need to catch up on some emails today!!!!

I walked outside this morning and it felt like fall. High of 73 today. I’m loving it. Last night we went to get ice cream and I was actually chilly sitting outside. I told dh that if I’m chilly now then I will probably need a coat when we go to the football game in Boone, NC at the end of the month. Especially if it’s a night game.

No work for me today, taking an R&R day. No cooking, cleaning or laundry. Couchville USA hooray!

Finally getting a chance to stop in!!!

Busy day on the unit. Thank goodness the casual girl is working today - helps to share the work load.

Camping was great. Weather was amazing and gloriously hot - almost too hot. I was seeking out the shade all weekend. But we had a great weekend. I didn't get to sit and relax as much as I had wanted. But it was still a great weekend. But today - I'm definitely tuckered out. It will be an early night tonight.

Good evening everyone. Thank you for your concern for B. She tested positive for Covid. I was surprised since her only symptom is the cough. The doctor said that since she has no fever she is okay to be in public as long as she wears a mask. She doesn’t have to work today or tomorrow, so she will be staying at home.

I hope it doesn't linger and that she recovers quickly.

I have one of my trees of up for Halloween. I’am going to try and get my pumkin tree up today or tomorrow.

That is sooooo cute! I love it!!!

Lugging my suitcase out the door, gave it too much “mustard”, the nearly 50# bag rolled over the top of my foot that was in a pair of birks.

I hope the foot is on the mend. I know what you mean about those types of flights. We tend to get lots of those " short connections" and I will either take a different flight - or make sure that we will be able to get out later in the day.

So what do you do when plans change....shop!!!

I hope your appt doesn't get pushed again. Although having to go shopping isn't that bad of a thing

Ah, does feel like fall with 54 out on my ride in today, Charade. Had the inside of the car at 65. But today, who do I see:



Ah little camel here, in that HHN mode waiting until the Fall comes later this month. Hehe the day after I return from the dark side. And so, get over this hump of a day feeling, and Friday, fabulous feeling Friday, is then a day away. Woot!

Wonderful Wednesday to all today. So much sunshine today. I need to pull my office windows shade down some. Glorious sunshine with a bluest blue sky. Saw the stars in the totally clear sky. on my darkness still ride in this morning.

Quick hump day stop in.

Busy morning on the unit - as I'm all by myself, so it seems busy lol. No giving some tasks to my co-worker

Quiet night last night. I really wasn't feel great. I tried to stop at Costco to pick up a quick ready to eat meal - but even to turn into the parking lot was backed up as well as the parking lot looked full - so I by passed that and went straight home. There were enough left overs in the fridge for everyone to survive on. I laid down for a nap - and it was fend for yourself night.

I felt a little better when I woke up. Played around on my phone for a bit - then back to bed by 9:00. I slept most of the night - waking up a few times, but was able to get back to sleep. I didn't feel the greatest when I woke up - but pushed through and am still at work. Tonight I hope to go for a walk. That is all I'm planning on doing after work - besides making dinner.

I was surprised to see that our sunset time last night was 8:45. As much as I enjoy the darkness returning in the evenings - it makes me sad to know that winter is around the corner. So far, it looks like it's going to be a nice fall. We will have another weekend of record breaking temperatures. So I'll enjoy alllllllllllll the wamr days we have coming right now. We tend to have a short fall - so if it's extended even a little bit, that will make me happy

I`m mixed about autumn, I love summer and autumn similarly, but maybe if we had better summers I`d miss it more.

Our sunset tonight is 7.33pm!!! Seems crazy as it`s just into September but it`s very obvious now even in the mornings how dark it is, I do miss light mornings more than evenings as it always feels cosy when the autumn nights draw in.

Hope you`re back to normal now and had a better sleep.





Implant fitting went well, it`s never as bad as you think. Slept like a baby, but that might have been strong pain meds that helped, glad I don`t need any of them this morning.

Miserable looking morning out there, no plans to go out next few days, dentists orders to take it easy, works for me. Home made soup and ice cream today for food, Tom will grab whatever.

This tree was one of the first to turn beginning of August, now the leaves are ready to drop off completely. Not the best quality as I took it with my phone out of the window, but autumn is here.

Good Thursday morning everyone

There was a rather high door frame @ the hotel in Anaheim. Lugging my suitcase out the door, gave it too much “mustard”, the nearly 50# bag rolled over the top of my foot that was in a pair of birks.

Not sure if the pressure//altitude contributed but foot was double in size. Just swollen and bit sore today so assume I just beat it up lol.

Janet sorry to hear you injured you foot. Hope no significant damage done. Sending lots of Mummy Dust your way. Sprinkle liberally over your foot.

Today is the ‘lil’s BD party. Have the last batch of wings in oven, made 6 dozen plus. Doing various varieties: dry rub, Buffalo, Asian & Garlic Parm options. Will finish French bread pizzas off once all get here. Veggie trays, salad, pasta salad, corn on cob and the cutest girlie cake

Wow…..just home from vacation and with an injured food you pull together a party. You are Super-woman

yes the knee is improving and almost back to normal, I trust this young man, I say young man, he`s in his early 30`s, but he is very good and highly recommended among the running community, so that`s good enough for me!!

Good to hear your knee is doing better. Having a good Therapist is the best medicine for sure.

Your tree is lovely, and yes it seems to be much earlier that real trees are turning autumnal, we noticed in early August that the change was starting, just seems so early.

Sorry to hear your wife has had complications with blood clots. Covid has had lots of longterm issues with people. My older sister developed diffuse blood clots in her lungs after having covid and it is a miracle she made it.

I will be praying for your wife’s recovery.

Did get my hair colored yesterday, but the lady who does my pedicures had a migraine yesterday morning so had to move me to this morning as she had terrible headache yesterday in am.

Did some food prep for my sweet hubby. I have all his favorites on hand so he can enjoy his meals at leisure while I’am gone. Our son and family will be by to take him out for some meals. They always love checking in to see how he is doing. He loves to see everyone and hear how things are going.

My sister K is going on vacation again this year with me. Her hubby is dropping us off at the airport this evening.

I need to get scootin so I can make my pedicure this morning.

Quick stop in!

Another busy day on the unit! I haven't had much time to do anything other than work. I knew it was going to be a day when I had 3 vm on the phone and secure chats when I logged into my operating system we use. It is keeping me on my toes.

Quiet night again las night. Dh and youngest ds didn't get home until closer to 7:00 pm. By the time I finished up dinner and we ate - it was too late for me to go outside walking without it being dark when I was done. I don't walk outside in the dark. I did end up going to bed early again - as I can feel I'm still fighting something.

Not sure whether to applaud the person who thot this up or hope they don’t live near me

Family done wore me (the mr down), we will be playing tour guides for Orlando mid October.

I looked my darling hubby dead in the face and said “you realize they are going to bail on us as they’ve done before…”.

His response “then, we will have fun without them…”

Is it dreadfully wrong to hope they (again) decide not to go at the relatively last moment?

I cobbled the trip together over the last few days. Only thing sticking in my caw is the price of the SUV rental, hoping it drops.

That’s really serious stuff. Assume she made like a pin cushion with a bunch of heparin injections. If she’s still on blood thinners, beware shaving! Looks like carnage in one of the HHN houses.

Oh my goodness! Thank God she survived. At the risk of sounding as tho I have thin skin, it makes my blood boil when people make the most uneducated comments as to people being over-cautious/fake news etc.

Thanks, glad that part is over, have a few months before the next part!!

Congrats on the last minute trip Janet, quite right too and win win either way, time with the family or time for just the two of you!!! Well done on getting organised so quickly, it is fun doing it that way as opposed to planning months out!!

Thanks, yes, it`s not pleasant to get the implant, but it`s not the worst thing to experience. I`m still speaking as though my lip is swollen, but in a few days it`ll be fine.






Lazy day for me, Tom did anything that needed doing. Two friends came round this to watch a movie, so Tom went out volunteering this afternoon, we watched Working Girl, haven`t seen it for a while, so it was a nice afternoon. Sue made a lasagne for Tom and I as she knew I didn`t feel like cooking and I did manage to eat it as it was soft, but chewing seems to be ok.

Kyle came round after work for half an hour to see his old mum then headed home as he was going out to dinner with friends, nice to see him.

Just had some hot milk with a couple of marshmallows in it and an unhealthy amount of cream on top, it`s nice being spoiled!!! Bed soon though as I`m yawning my head off!!

Good Friday morning from a very sunny and warm East Coast of the UK, I think this may be the last of the warm weather we have been warned about!! As if we needed reminding. We slept so late again today, we could get used to this especially once winter arrives.

Looks to be gorgeous, so might get out in the garden today for a sit, mid to high 70`s for us which is nice for September.

Again, no plans today, getting through Dr Zhivago, listening to 70`s/80`s music and I think my friend is bringing Elise over this afternoon. She goes to private school so they haven`t gone back yet, will be nice to see her. When she goes back she will be a weekly boarder this year, didn`t plan that for her, but when most of her friends were boarders she asked dad if she could too even though they only live 40 minutes from the school, but she gets to do so much more in the evenings this way with her friends but gets to come home for weekends, she`s getting so much more independent and confident since she went to this school.

Salmon for dinner tonight, easy to eat and nice too.

Tom is off out getting some bits and pieces, I promised Kyle I would bake ooey gooey choc chip cookies on Sunday and take them into the office on Monday for everyone, and that way we get to see his new office!!!! Our next appointment there with his boss is not till February, not waiting that long to see it!!

Will get the kettle on and have some tea ready for Tom coming back in, will be a late lunch as we had breakfast so late today, mid morning cuppa is always nice.

Heeeeeere’s Mariah!

Jr just left after having brunch on way into work. Going to read thru emails and go flop in the pool for an hour before the storm comes thru later this evening, should be cold for a few days, then bounce back into the 80’s here.

I rarely turn down a chocolate chip cookie, that version sounds divine. Now, i want cookies. Do have lemon pizzeles, you can eat 5 & only take in 140 calories. Nice with coffee in the am to take the edge off in lieu of biscottis, which tend to have that much in one.

Dinner is a mystery. Do have some leftover meatballs & sauce i made from scratch. The mr won’t touch either, he may be foraging. Hard to imagine eating anything later, so stuffed.

They are very nice cookies, all dark brown sugar and I make up the dough the day before as it makes them gooier apparently, and cook them for only 8 mins instead of 10-11 mins, they are tempting!!! I admit I do love a lemon flavoured anything!!!

Sounds like a good old day for you, brunch, seeing your boy and pool time, hard to beat!!






Another quiet old day for me, my friend popped in with Elise for an hour or so, she brought nail polish for me to do my nails lol....I never put nail polish on, but she insisted, so I do have a rather pale pink on right now!! Think I now need to go buy remover as I don`t have any, not a nail polish person, she is a persuasive almost 6 year old.

Watching the Potter movies, think we`ll manage two tonight, we have a bottle of wine and going to get comfy in the back sitting room. It`ll be cosy, lamps around the house were on around 7pm tonight, outdoors came on around 7.25, darkness falls quickly right now.

Y’all fall in a hole? Jogged my brain back to this I heard as a kid & not living my bestest life lol. Assume it’s not a common platitude.

Today, get to enjoy the two large turkey breasts and pumpkin pie I made yesterday. The mr in the kitchen doing his slicing magic, whole house smells heavenly. Will continue all afternoon as I make broth for soup. Usually sunday is wings & football, switching up as it’s going to be long season for my team lol

Not thrilled when I took off my toenail polish from last trip and saw one of nails blackened, appears the errant suitcase slammed it hard enough to do damage. Doesn’t hurt, just starting to raise up funny. If it’s going to fall off, hope it happens sooner vs later. Not my 1st rodeo with that mess.

Any weekend plans for the gang here?
