Something About Nothing............ #14

It's awesome. I usually just sign up for Hulu for 2 months to watch it, then drop as I don't watch many of the streaming apps we already have.

Was thinking of just adding Hulu & MAX (dropping HBP/Max on my direct tv service).

Turns out if u have an annual subscription for D+ in place, u have to wait until it expires.

I need to call, has to be a way to just prorate adding new services to existing contract.

Hoops to left of me, hoops to the right

Mac u went from none to a handful quickly lol. Enjoy those grand babies. Trying to keep up keeps you young (at heart) lol

We added Disney+ last night and watched 3 episodes of Only Murder in the Building!!!! OMG, it is amazing, best thing we`ve watched in a long time. We laughed so much, Martin Short is hilarious in it, he is funny in whatever he does though, but we had to stop as we could have binge watched it all night!!!

Not sure there`s too much we`ll watch as there is a lot of Disney stuff.......:rotfl:

But looks ok though, I think Tom will watch it more than me. Star Wars stuff!!!!

The great thing of having daughter in laws are both do all diaper changes!

My job they gave me is just to hold the baby bottle and rock them to sleep.

With my one grandson, I have Mattel cars that we race together.

I always let him win.

That`s the best job to do with babies!! And your grandson will enjoy that time together too. Is he enjoying being a big brother?

Anyone remember a poster in the sans named Froggy?
I have always wondered where he is and if he ever came back to the Dis with a new name

He was active in the something about nothing thread when it began

Believe it was an active thread about at least 20 or 30 years ago.

he was a nice dude but he disappeared some years ago when the disboards became very active.

there are times I think about some of the posters that were quite active who eventually faded away from the boards.

You all wait to the time when you become just a dot in a thread and wonder who were the early posters that were a big part of the little family group we once had.

I do fondly think of the homies here that were once in our online family that we created.

Don`t remember a Froggy, but yes there are a few folks I miss from over the years.

People come and go, some pop back when they have trips to share and yes, some just disappear. The San was a busier place several years back for sure.

And we have a birthday today!!!! :bday:

mac, hope you have a wonderful day celebrating with family, enjoy every second of it, you deserve a lovely day!!!!

Beautiful sunrise this morning, the sun is still red/orange right now, so waiting on Tom coming down, we`ll have a quick breakfast and get out walking, hoping the old feet have improved and don`t sting when walking.

Back home and we have some shopping to do, a couple of farm stores we want to visit, a grocery store and the hardware store in the village, much better than the huge chain of DIY stores so we shop from them if we can.

Spicy, sticky honey/garlic/mustard glazed chicken tonight for dinner with couscous, going to try quinoa again at some point, everyone raves about it but there was something I didn`t like and I forget what it was, so will pick some up and have a bash. Quick breakfast of croissants with some fruit, will have some fruit mid morning as I`m always starving when I eat too early....but can`t walk on an empty tummy.

Tom is volunteering this afternoon, so might pop to a friend`s house or just have a quiet afternoon. Will see what I feel like later.

Tea is ready....

Have a wonderful Monday!!!!

Quick hello before leaving for work. Very lazy day yesterday.
Dh has given me a list of options for a 30th anniversary trip. One was a train ride through the Scottish highlands. That was my top choice. Unfortunately he immediately started suggesting adding other locations which would turn into a 2 week, very expensive vacation. I think he forgets that we have to pay for all of this. He tried to do the same with my birthday trip to Universal 7 years ago (wow, has it really been that long?) but I put my foot down.

This one is a girl.
Baby is two weeks old today.
Sweet. I know you will have a wonderful time with family.
Dh has a friend who has a brother. I understand that the 2 boys were quite a handful growing up. Between the 2 of them they have given their parents 5 granddaughters. No more boys in the family right now.

Sounds like your DH is doing a wonderful job in his portrayal of Bob, I`d agree he is indeed a loathesome creature. Hope he enjoys his run doing the show, how long is it on for?
2 more weekends. They perform on Friday and Saturday and have one Sunday matinee. I will be going this Friday.

It's awesome. I usually just sign up for Hulu for 2 months to watch it, then drop as I don't watch many of the streaming apps we already have.
When we got rid of cable we chose Hulu plus as our main streaming service, but I am not 100% thrilled with it. Dh likes it because it comes with lots of sports channels.

Almost time for work.

Happy birthday Mac!!

Yes, it's nice to get drive by hi's here from those from the past

I'm not one to go on FB much, let alone clean up my friend list lol

I still see many posts pop up in my timeline from the the old gang going back 20 something years ago on FB. Most are doing very well.

Yesterday is history,
tomorrow is a mystery,
today is a gift of God,
which is why we call it the present
.

Always appreciated that quote

Making a point to remember our fearless leader on her special day!

Mac - hmmm Froggy...

The only Froggy I remember was one from Deep South. Louisiana or Arkansas? Had the state in his screen name. He bumped around the CB with the Mrs

seemed to have the worst luck, one misfortune after the other (including repeated health issues, no insurance coverage, unable to work, you name it).

Recall several drives posted to help them, well before the boards shut that sort of thing down in general. They both disappeared from the boards at least a good decade ago, if not longer

Does that sound like the same guy?

Dh has given me a list of options for a 30th anniversary trip.
He's swinging for the fences!

Whenever my Mr mentions an elaborate trip idea on the spur of moment, I do listen. Then, remind him we have a vacation budget, reassessed every year that covers the bulk of our travels.

Any deviations from the plan need to be worked into the $ allocated annually by adjusting other, normal travel plans or be primarily funded by the person who is requesting it.

Ergo, the surprise upcoming 'BD' gift trip to disneyland. :love:Had no idea he was saving for it.

Happy birthday Mac!!

Sometimes it`s nice to treat yourself to a one off trip Charade, Scotland is beautiful and you can`t just go for a short trip with such a long flight.

You`ll be looking forward to seeing the show this weekend Charade and your husband will enjoy knowing you`re there.

I like that quote a lot, so true.

Sometimes when one of my friend`s is over, I glance at her FB and I`m amazed!!! Everyone semingly knows everyone and some folks put so much info on there!!! I saw one woman show her whole home from when they bought it till they made it over!!! Never heard of privacy it seems. I have no plans to ever get FB, but it does have it`s good points I guess.

There were some lovely posters over the years, miss some of them, some not so much lol....there were a few that were, different. I think Froggy must have been before my time as the name doesn`t ring a bell, but I have heard of some of the scams with justgiving and so on over the years even on here, glad they stopped them, nope, unless I know them personally, I won`t give as there are so many con artists out there.

Your DL trip is one of the most thoughtful birthday gifts ever!!!! That man is one to keep!!!

Appreciate the bd wishes from all of you.
Very much appreciated.
Since we have a grandson and a 4 week old visiting us, probably will be a dinner out geared for the little’ ones.

Hope you`re having a lovely time with the family mac.

Had a lovely peaceful afternoon while Tom was out doing his good deeds, baked some shortbread, drank some tea, had a snooze too while waiting for my washing to dry on the line. Enjoyed a nice dinner and tonight decided to invite some friends round on Sunday for the afternoon, I`m determined there will be a little bit of a celebration for my wonderful husband`s birthday!! Dinner out on Saturday night then friends Sunday will be nice.

Tonight is just so dark, we have rain and some high winds, so the house feels very cosy, lit some candles in the sitting room earlier, yep, feels like summer is over already!!

Watching a show called Will Trent on Disney+, don`t want to rush through Only Murders in the Building. It`s decent if a little different.

Weather looks decent for another walk in the morning, hopefully!! But, some tv then an early night, yup, feels like autumn!

Ah, Fall like start with overnight in the mid 50’s and 60 out when I came out the door. Long sleeve shirt on today. Mid August and high temp is 74. But yay, came back to almost a full week of wall to wall sunshine. Including today. Woot! Sunshine.

Horizon shot from my office:
IMG_3658.jpeg

Had a great time last week, and will be back before I know it. With a crack of dawn flight down that has already been pushed ahead 1/2 hour, with our return evening flight pushed ahead over an hour. Our return flight home Sunday was delayed almost 3 hours due to the storms at home. Midnight as opened our door. Good thing not commuting yesterday. Unlike the next two days and today. Sigh. Once I was teleworking, I don’t miss city commuting one darn bit.

Tacos on the menu today. Tuesday it is.

Late to the party today...

Good excuse, we were up and out for an early walk, it was so lovely, breezy as heck now, but calmer this morning. It just doesn`t show how the sun is almost a little orange, beautiful and quite warm after a cool evening last night.

1724163668952.jpeg

My friend captured a very early sunrise, if she sends me it I`ll post it as it is stunning, will give her the credit as she does take good pictures!

Then did some shopping, had lunch and now sitting with the sun streaming into the kitchen as well as a warm breeze listening to Dr Hook, yes, cup of tea in hand with some shortbread.

Love the flowers all still look very fresh despite the trees already changing for autumn.

1724164346046.jpeg

Made burgers for tonight, moulded the ground meat round some Brie, hope they don`t split when cooked, nice surprise when he eats it. But a nice quiet afternoon, finished watching the Laci Peterson documentary, horrible to watch but glad he is where he deserves to be.

Back to the sunshine and my book I think soon, still ploughing through Dr Zhivago!!

Happy Tuesday!!!

Morning all. Getting gussied up. need to put the twistes in hair to give it some curl. Tonight is football mother's banquet at country club, with 2 DS coaching the team I score an invite lol. :smooth: I'm just happy I get to sit and enjoy vs doing the usual cooking

Your DL trip is one of the most thoughtful birthday gifts ever!!!! That man is one to keep!!!
I'd track him down if he strayed lol He's a far better human than me...makes me a better version of myself.
don`t want to rush through Only Murders in the Building. It`s decent if a little different.
I didn't start watching until right before 2nd season started. Wound up binging it to catch up

I do really think it's one of those shows it's best to pace yourself to savor it (for lack of a better term)
Mid August and high temp is 74. But yay, came back to almost a full week of wall to wall sunshine. Including today. Woot! Sunshine.
We won't break 60's till Thursday It's the night temps in 40s that are jarring. At least the rain is gone & sun is shining.

A good day to go out for bit and try to start filling the Xmas gift bin up lol. Any excuse will do
Had a great time last week, and will be back before I know it
lol you are mid September for HHN this year? I forget,r u doing MNSSHP?

Stinks re the flight issues. Used to be SWA was so reliable.

Spirit has rumors swirling they are circling the drain. Even I am hesitant to book one of those cheapo bonus trip flights at this point. So glad I didn't book them to LAX

Oh it`s tonight! Missed that, hope you have an amazing evening, always sounds like such fun and they`ll appreciate your food I`m sure.

Awwww, that`s so lovely, I know what you mean though, our husbands are gems!!

Yes, we are trying to not fly through those shows, it is one of the best shows we`ve seen for years. We watch Will Trent to stop us binge watching Murders in the Building, passes the time but honestly, we are addicted to it!! I adore Martin Short in anything.

Spirit are going out of business?? Yes, glad you haven`t used them.

It is so breezy outside, if I had put any washing out I think I`d have found them out to sea!! Sunny and warm though, which is something.

Dr Hook are off, back to Queen again!!

Good morning. Another slow day at work today.

B started school again yesterday. She has already picked a topic for a research paper and had it approved by her professor.

We are 83 days away from our Universal trip and 200 days from Disney.

He's swinging for the fences!

Unfortunately dh can’t surprise me with a trip since I am in charge of all the finances. Then there’s the problem that if we travel out of the country I will need a passport. Can’t really surprise me with that.
Can’t wait to hear what you think of DL.

Sometimes it`s nice to treat yourself to a one off trip Charade, Scotland is beautiful and you can`t just go for a short trip with such a long flight.
I would love a big trip. The problem is that he gets grand ideas, but doesn’t stop to think how we are going to pay for everything. In addition to the train ride through Scotland he wants to add several days in London, and some time in Ireland. I guess he is more of a dreamer and I am more of a realist.

I have no plans to ever get FB, but it does have it`s good points I guess.
I use it mostly to keep up with old friends from all the places we have lived.

Watching a show called Will Trent on Disney+,
I have considered watching that, but have not started yet.

Ah, Fall like start with overnight in the mid 50’s and 60 out when I came out the door.
We had a beautiful morning today. Sunny, slightly cool, and extremely low humidity. Too bad it won’t last.

Had a great time last week, and will be back before I know it.
When is your next trip?

Guess I should get back to work. Lunch in less than an hour.

Quick Taco Tuesday stop in!!!

Busy weekend and Monday. Saturday - was a puttering and cleaning day around the house. Oven was cleaned and new microwave installed. Also went to pick up some groceries.

Sunday - we hit the lake. We had a great day - with lots of fish caught and released. We managed catch a few that were in the size limits that are set here. I fried up half of our catch - and froze the other half. I might pull it out later this week for another quick meal one night.

Yesterday - it was another Monday that was Mondaying :scared: But it's over - and now back to our regular old days. My casual gal is in today - then not again until late next week. So I'm letting her do most of the work today - as she wants to refresh her memory as it's been a hot minute since she's been here at work.

We had taco in a bag last night - I should have saved it for tonight. Tonight will be chicken something - as that's what I took out to defrost.

Mr handed me the 90th anniversary Donald Duck :love:last week that he & GD found after they ‘secretly’ searched thru multiple stores in the parks for the perfect print placement
awwww
Dh said he had a good opening night
Congrats on his opening night! It sounds like they have quite a few performances of it. I look forward to your review of it!
We are so excited!
It has taken me years to become a grandma…
:cheer2:
Might start our Potter marathon movie watch this afternoon.
We have been loving watching them! It is making our boys beyond excited
Happy weekend to all.
:wave2: Loved the costumes!!!!
Ergo, the surprise upcoming 'BD' gift trip to disneyland. :love:Had no idea he was saving for it.
What a wonderful gift! I can't wait to hear all about it!

I seen there was another no-frills canadian carrier that have filed for chapter 13 protection. It mostly ran in the east. So it didn't affect us in the west. But from a fb travelling group I'm in - many were left behind.

Well, I should get going. I just wanted to pop in for a quick "Hi"

Back to work :surfweb:

Oh it`s tonight! Missed that, hope you have an amazing evening, always sounds like such fun and they`ll appreciate your food I`m sure.
it's a different one, this is fancee

Best of all, just have to bring myself
Can’t wait to hear what you think of DL.
I think this is our 6th trip. Other than the 2 oogie boogie parties that sucked up a day of July wdw trip to book via VQ line
& hopefully grab another VQ to see the haunted mansion nightmare overlay; cannot wait to see marvel land & maybe catch Deadpool

Yes, that does indeed sound juvenile lol
We had taco in a bag last night
Maybe what we call walking tacos (in snack size bag of Fritos or Doritos)?

Off to return family's clothing I bought that didn't make the cut. If didn't buy all my guys clothing they'd look like hobos

Glad she`s settled back in again and your trip will be here before you know it.

Yes, it`s not a cheap trip to come across the Atlantic either way. It would be lovely though, I`m a huge believer in treating ourselves!!! But, yes, I get it.

I`m always amazed when folks ask me how I keep in touch with everyone when I don`t have FB....very easily is my answer, phone, email and skype!

Will Trent is decent, not as good as the Only Murders in the Building, but it passes some time, I wasn`t sure at first if I would like it, but he grew on me.

Sounds like a lovely weekend all round Pumpkin!!

Those Potter movies are so good!! Yes, it all helps to build the excitement, I can`t wait to see what JK Rowling comes up with next, amazing woman.

Have a good day :)

lol....our men are lucky to have us aren`t they!!!!

Spent the last hour emailing smugmug who I store all my pictures with, links weren`t working the way they usually were and me not being the most technical of people wasn`t sure at first what they were asking me to do for them to help!! God love them they are so patient.

But, sorted now thanks to a lovely young lady called Lindy!!! I know some folks think it`s silly to pay almost a $100 a year for them to host the pictures, but they are always fantastic whenever the rare issue comes up.

Technology is not fun at times!

And to stress me out more, just got a txt to remind me of our joint dental appointment tomorrow, just a check up, but means my implant appointment is getting closer!!!! Well, the first part of it anyway.

Time for some chilling tv times I think. Tom has been watching something Star Wars or Trek or something like that!!!

Had a great time. Pretty there, golf course a tough one with rolling hills, can see miles in distance from the dining room
IMG_2805.jpeg

Almost cried hearing these two express their gratitude for their mom. Knew the kids did it, first time they joined in speaking. It's a lovely tradition they have in that school district.

Will Trent
Is that the chihuahua one?

Spent the last hour emailing smugmug
Switched over when photobucket raised their prices too. Somehow I switched off the automatic upload feature. I'm years back sending over files lol.
just a check up, but means my implant appointment is getting closer!!!!

You are a trooper. Not sure I could be that patient

Beautiful picture Janet and that must have been a lovely moment to hear the boys so those wonderful things about their mum!!!

That does look a gorgeous place to have the event too, glad it was such a lovely evening!

Yes, he has one of those little dog things. He`s not very likeable but it works quite well, we`re only three episodes in, not a show I`d miss if it stopped but it`s ok.

Gosh I`d forgotten about Photobucket and their price increase, wasn`t it around $400 or something they wanted for a yearly account!! I hot hoofed it to Smugmug as soon as that happened, that site is so good for navigating. Found out last night I have over 80,000 pics stored there, didn`t realise. It was a poster on here, klmall that put me on to smugmug, her pictures are amazing and I`m grateful she helped me out there.

lol....not sure I`m patient, more desperate to get it over with now! I keep telling myself it`ll be worth it.

Very breezy this morning, so think we`ll pass walking as along the shore front is always a little breezier than anywhere else. That North sea is not for the weak willed.

Dentist this afternoon, both of us have a check up at the same time, but not much else going on today. Little bit of shopping, don`t need much though, no lunch out today with the gang, think that`s been postponed, we`re all kinda busy today.

So, quiet one here for us, making a chicken curry tonight for dinner, trying to clear one of the freezers in the garage out so when we come back it`s ready for filling up again, getting there as there`s not much left in that one now.

Wednesday again.....:-)
