Something About Nothing............ #14

Sue, I hope your August trip is a go, and hope your appointment is quick and not painful. Wonderful to hear no chemo. I changed our first night to CB, because snagged a very good rate, and the rest of our week at RPR at a pretty good rate. Had reservations for all nights at RPR, but saving quite a bit by doing first night at CB. Did it mainly because we don’t arrive until early evening, so doubt we will go to the parks when we arrive, and just relax and maybe some night pool time. We don’t mind staying at CB. And it’s a short drive over to RPR the next morning.

Getting ready for bed. Made some hot tea, as house feels a little cool. Got laptop all ready to travel.

Have a very good night’s sleep everyone.
I have done that a lot if I have an early morning fight. From west coast the earliest arrival is usually 6:00pm. Sometimes 7pm Then by the time we get luggage and get to hotel it’s late so I’ve stayed at CB several times first night for same reasons. And I love their International Grill at the food court!
Sometimes I fly the night before on a red-eye so have a full first day and arrive at 7;00AM!
We have a 2 week stay so this trip spending first 5 nights in a deluxe room at Aventura before moving to RP for 9 nights. Easy move since they’re all in same area. Last August I did split between Sapphire and Portofino.

Nice long stay for you, Sue. Yay! I do like SF, but CB was almost half as cheap, so CB it is the first night. And we do like their food court too. I am in same time zone, and have around a two hour flight. But, yeah, our choice of direct flights was late afternoon or late evening. We took the one that arrives at 5:30 pm. And by the time we get our luggage and the rental car, I’m sure it will be after 6, before we even leave the airport to get to the hotel. Hence other than having to switch hotels, it’s easier to just relax in a much cheaper hotel for the first night when getting in later in the day.

Ah yes, thirsty our ground must be. Was a damp and cool feeling, drizzling start as drive into city was fast, as usual in the just before dawn commutes. Glad I put in a long sleeved heavier blouse, with my slacks today. Inside isn’t that cool, but still feeling a bit damp and cool, so drinking that hot tea with water from a bottle.

Felt a little tickle in my throat. Took medicine before I left, and have some in my office. Will take some at lunchtime, then some when I get home. Taking an easy tonight. Glad tomorrow is teleworking day, and shortest, and with twice as long lunch. Sigh, hope I did not catch any sickness.

IMG_1661.jpegGood morning from this rainy morning and cool, 60 degrees when I left, weather homie.

And drink up today, don’t let the rain beat ya in the amount of drinks today, as compared to the amount of watering the lawn Mother Nature has done for us. A half an inch of rain to end by later today. And so, water and all other beverages are good to keep a body hydrated, particularly that just plain cold drink of water. Do your part, and enjoy today. That is, have a most Terrific Thirsty Thursday.

Good Thursday morning everyone

Oh Robo, so sorry you had to cancel your trip, but being home is more important. Hope you get all your airfare money back. It is nice the Lowes hotels let you cancel easily. How wonderful to have your grandson help with care. I hope your DH does well with his appointment this morning.
Yes, trips are easily rescheduled. Hubby is doing better. Getting hubby better is the priority now. Doc appt went well.

So sorry you had to cancel your trip. I can sympathize. Good luck with the airline.
All is good. I will try and take grandson a little later this summer if things with hubby improve.

It's great you have someone who is able to help you and yo ur dh while he is convalescing.

It sucks you had to cancel your trip!!!! I know how disappointing that is. I hope you are able to reschedule it soon.
Grandson has been so sweet and helpful. We are really blessed to have such good family members around us.

Robbie just read your post and saw you canceled your trip.
I hope all improves soon

Trips can be changed but family needs come first.

sending you
Yes, family is more important for sure and do come first before trips or anything else in life. My hubby is a wonderful man and the love of my life.

Thank you for the hugs. I hope you are doing well and things are progressing for you on your brothers estate.

thats wonderful your grandson is coming to help out! Sorry you had to cancel your trip, that’s always sad. It’s looking better for me not to have to cancel Aug trip since I won’t need Chemo. Fingers crossed.
Grandson is such a sweet and gentle person. He loves his Papa. He has been such a wonderful helper for sure.

I hope you will not have to cancel your trip in August. That would be something for you to look forward to after your surgery. So good to hear you will not need chemo.
Sending lots of prayers your way as you prepare for your surgery.

Sending good wishes out to our Carole. Hope things are ok in your neck of the woods. You are missed.

Janet hope your sons doc appointments are going well.

Sending out hello’s and good thoughts to all out Sans family that are not posting anymore. You are not forgotten and you are missed Tink, Tinyd, Patty, Realfoodfans, Monyk and all the others.

The sun is shinning this morning. That just starts the day off a bit more cheery.

Hubby is getting stronger everyday. So thankful things are moving in the right direction. His doc appointment went well yesterday and he also had some lab work.

On the way home he wanted to stop at Sonic for a cheeseburger. He loves cheeseburgers. So cheeseburger stop we did and he ate every bit of it. He did enjoy it.

He has another doc appt tomorrow. I know he is getting better when he complains about having to see another doctor again.

I will try and plan another trip this summer to Universal for grandson if all goes well Here at home. It will be nice to give him a special treat of a nice vacation for all he has done to help out. He never asks for anything and is always willing to help.

I need to get out and pick up a few things this morning.

Have a wonderful Thursday doing what ever it is that makes you happy.

@Lynne G yes I love those long trips, and having time to enjoy resort, relax, and make it worth the long flight! Maybe you’ll even have time for a float in the lazy river at CB your arrival night!
I’m looking forward to trying Aventura my first few days before we move to RP. And it’s next to Sapphire so can walk over to enjoy their pool and dining options!

@Robo56 so glad to hear your Mr is improving. Good news! I feel things are looking good for our Aug trip!

Sun has finally made an appearance. Weather is improving and going into a high front. Summer loading!
Mr is sick in bed  with bad sore throat. Think we’ll phone the dr today. May be strep?
I better dash. Have to leave for hospital in 45min for radioactive seed implant. I’ll be glowing in the dark at dinner gathering I’m going to this evening.

Sending prayers your way for a painless seed implant

I can the weekend on the horizon!!! Thirsty Thursday is upon us ::yes::

We have some overcast skies today. It's another cool day. Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day! The wind stayed down, and the sun was shinning all day. I was a perfect day to usher in summer as well as being the longest day of the year. I even got to enjoy a walk last night.

The beef dips I made for supper last night were yummy. Our ds's liked that a whole lot more than the stir fry from the night before :o Tonight is left over sausages that they had opened earlier in the week. Not sure what I'll make with them yet, but add a salad and veg...and it will be good.

Behind City Hall is the weekly farmers market. I had a look. Imo most of the stuff was way over priced. But did pick up a nice looking loaf of sour dough.
Our Farmer's market is the same. I like to support local but geeze the prices :sad2:
I hope your appointment goes well for you today - enjoy that dinner tonight! I hope your Mr gets better soon.
I hope it is short lived! Get better soon.

i LOVE a good burger!!!! It's great sign when they start complaining about having to go follow up appointment.

Well, I should go hunt down some more papers to shuffle.

Have a great day everyone!

Lynne hope you feel better soon and the throat tickle was caught in time.

Glad to hear your DH is feeling better and enjoyed his cheeseburger, Robo. Yes, trips can be rescheduled, and nice you are still planning to have some park fun with your grandson and maybe in another month or so.

Ack, Sue, sending mummy dust well wishes to your DH. Hope his throat feels better soon.

My throat is feeling better, thanks Robo. It’s usually when I feel a tickle to my tonsils, I know to start taking medicine right away.

Yeah, we don’t have farmer stores until another month or so. There’s you pick your own strawberries and peaches at the local farms near me. That’s a no interest from my family. Most of our local farms have veggies growing, where corn now about just above knee size. We get local corn around beginning of August. Little one is waiting until the end of July, as that’s when many of the Jersey farms put tomatoes out for sale. Nothing like just picked produce from the farm near the store.

And did walk for lunch. Was windy, as phone said 27 mph wind, and 65 degrees out, with a very gray looking overcast sky. Yeah, just makes this first day of summer nothing like Olaf would like when he dreams of summer. I should not be complaining saw some of the country North of me, had snow. That’s a what?? At least I am South enough, I don’t ever remember seeing snow in our summertime, hail maybe, but no snow once the calendar turns to middle of May, then chance of snow by mid October. Weather. Eh. As long as next weekend is much hotter then this coming weekend, will be very happy. Start of July should be warm. Nary I say, hot.

Ooh coffee for me now. Few more hours and that awful commute home. First one since school is out, so should be not many school buses to see, nor those flashing slow down signs near a school I still get after 4pm where I drive by.

Slept like a log for 9 hours last night once we got settled back home. Can’t remember last time I snagged more than 6

I’m getting old & soft, found myself tearing up
Re Rocket raccoon in Guardians movie. DH looked at me at said, you realize those are raccoons we continually battle here for dominance. Lol

Hubby is home and we have an Appt with specialist this am. He is progressing.
Great news
I was put on hold forever to talk to someone at Allegiant. They would not return my money, but gave me a voucher for future travel minus the carrier usage fee.
Their official policy, after 24 hours, no changes unless u buy their ins.

However, I’ve had same results with them when I stated one of us had Covid. Attitude changed immediately
Legally blonde I will be this afternoon. Glad to be pampered. My hair sometimes seems to need more cutting during the summer. I go 4 to 5 weeks instead of 5 to 6 weeks when it’s colder between appointments.
Nice, I go Tuesday. Only 8 weeks in on this one but, was a tad too low lighted for me last time

It’s funny, have gone to this girl multiple times. She is resistant to looping off length for some reason.:confused3half way down my back & hot as heck. I like it to just graze my shoulders in summer/long enough to put in high pony
Last night I whipped up a stir fry and used a fresh chow mien noodle - ummmmm reminder for next time to lightly fry the noodles and NOT steam them. It was yummy - at least to me.
Haven’t had chow mein in for ages Seems like a whole younger generation (or two) doesn’t know what it is
where is the Drury Inn? I hear they built one in Disney Springs. The chain Always gets good reviews. Maybe when I get back to wdw I’ll try it since they took away most of the perks of staying on-site.
That Benny looks good! And cute Dalmation!
We were at Pittsburgh airport one.

There one a couple blocks from U corner of restaurant row & sand lake

Another @ Disney springs, think the old best western
Behind City Hall is the weekly farmers market. I had a look. Imo most of the stuff was way over priced. But did pick up a nice looking loaf of sour dough.
Trying to get things done before surgery and was afraid I’d forget about property tax. Due a few days after surg. Def wanted that done.
Always a lot to do, that nesting thing
I changed our first night to CB, because snagged a very good rate, and the rest of our week at RPR at a pretty good rate.
I’m looking at a rate @CB that is 2/3rd less than RP in September

Admittedly, not a fan but, since focus is HHN & don’t need EP, tempting
Sue, my brain is about the size of a pea right now so sending you good wishes for your surgery at the near end of this month

Hope all will go smooth and you get good drugs and will feel no pain in your recovery.
I like peas
Sigh, hope I did not catch any sickness.
Summer sickness the worst

loving your attitude! You, go, girl!

Did I hear French dips, droooooool

We are at track camp with GD. She picked Drury inn for the evening kickback. Kid knows her mind.

We shopped in area all day. I finally deposited him on a couch in the mega mall as his eyes were rolling back in his head from boredom

Lunch in a real diner. DeLucas, was featured on that man vs food show in the past. I’ve been jonesing for good eggs Benedict

Oh, we are home, just an overnight ‘staycation’ that the GD clamored for during her sports camp on other side of airport here. We take off for the annual one :banana:with her next Friday.

that dog was certainly a calm one. Guess not his first go-round with that Situation.

Just watched a clip wherein another calm dog managed to hold it together when put in a stressful situation by his owner on a sold out Delta flight. I’d go so far to call that animal abuse. FYI rule is emotional support animals have to be caged & under seat In front.

Good evening everyone. Fairly quiet day today. I ended up going to see my medical practitioner today. I have been having issues with my toes and leg since we returned from California. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious.

I can feel your good vibes! Thanks. The Mr just came down with sore throat and feeling quite sick. I’ve quarantined him to the bedroom. My surg is only a week away!
Hope he is better soon and you don’t pick up anything from him.

I’ve stayed at CB several times first night for same reasons. And I love their International Grill at the food court!
I may have to try CB next time.

I do like SF, but CB was almost half as cheap, so CB it is the first night.
I wanted to stay a SF again, but I’m cheap, so i chose Aventura this time for the price.

Hubby is getting stronger everyday. So thankful things are moving in the right direction. His doc appointment went well yesterday and he also had some lab work.
Great news. Hope he continues to improve quickly.

I’m looking forward to trying Aventura my first few days before we move to RP.
Please let me know how you like it. I will be stsyi g there in September.

Mr is sick in bed  with bad sore throat. Think we’ll phone the dr today. May be strep?

Prayers for a quick recover for him. Hope all went well at the hospital.

My throat is feeling better, thanks Robo. It’s usually when I feel a tickle to my tonsils, I know to start taking medicine right away.
Glad to hear you are already feeling better.

I’m getting old & soft, found myself tearing up
Re Rocket raccoon in Guardians movie.
It was a very emotional movie. I cried.

I’m looking at a rate @CB that is 2/3rd less than RP in September
I have a standard room at Aventura in September. It was the same rate as CB. I had a difficult time choosing. I would love to stay at the RP again, but can’t bring myself to pay those rates.

Going to watch some mindless TV. I discovered that the Peacock channel has some of the old Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, so I have been watching those. I had such a crush on Shaun Cassidy when I was a kid.

Ooh what happens when you take a long afternoon nap. I guess I needed it. Fell asleep, as took more medicine when I came home, as my one ear ached on the way home. Missed dinner, but was not hungry. Still not. So took some more medicine and will be back to sleep soon enough.

Never tried Aventura, that and the two on I drive are only three I have not stayed at yet, Charade. Don’t blame ya for saving money. That’s why I did pick CB our first night. If the rate for RPR changed when I reduced it by one night, I would not have changed. But since it didn’t, stayed the same, I too like saving money where I can. Glad I got decent and very good AP rates for our August trip. My long ago booked save more rate for RPR in September is still cheaper than I am getting for the decent AP rate in August. But for both reservations, I do keep checking. And that night at CB, went on and off AP rates as I looked. So when I saw could get the best rate so far of both for August, booking AP rates, I did.

Oooh time for bed again for me. That alarm will go off hours from now. I’m sure I will be up around when it goes off. Glad the virus time showed my office that teleworking is the new norm. Though have to say, the bulk of people where I work was on a max teleworking schedule since the early 90’s. So for them, not much changed when no office open for that almost three year period, unlike my office. See, change is good at times.

Have a very good night all. And yep, I will certainly have that fabulous Friday feeling when I wake up again. Woot, agree, weekend is loaded, and ready when I log off a half hour earlier tomorrow, than the other days that I do.

Oooh so quiet in the morning.

For some reason, my internet provider signed me out and I had trouble logging in. 15 minutes later, fixed. Sigh.

And yay, it’s. Friday. Took more medicine. While I don’t have a sore throat and my ear is not that painful now, but I feel like I still have something irritating my tonsil area, and tender on the left side of my throat. And so, no fever, and have no trouble drinking my tea or eating the oatmeal I had. So medicine for a couple of days more, and that should help whatever is making me not feeling normal.

And with that long nap, and good overnight sleep, I was up 1/2 hour before the alarm. Oh well. At least i promptly turned it off after I heard it start. So ready for the weekend.

Thus, hope all are feeling well and ready to enjoy or already enjoying this Fabulous Friday.

Weather alert: Oooh let the thunderstorms come today. Gray sky and not very bright out right now. 62 degrees too. Yeah, even with the second day of summer, and toward the end of June, cool overnights we have had. And crap, in our 10 day forecast, not seeing much sunshine. Very cloudy and rainy start to our Summer. And not hot either. 77 degrees the high this Friday. Sigh. Whatever. Shorts are still the bottom clothing today.

Tea. Why yes I am that tea drinker. Though do enjoy both iced and hot coffee at times. But today, it’s hot tea. House is a bit cool. And no, I’m not turning on the heater. Sigh.

And a final yay. Staycation with the GD and annual Summer trip for the Keisha gang. Woot! Trip next week for you. July holiday park fun for your family. Woot!

i LOVE a good burger!!!! It's great sign when they start complaining about having to go follow up appointment.
Hubby really likes a good cheeseburgers. I think he would choose that over a steak. Yes, it is a good sign he is improving. He does not like going to the doctor.

Glad to hear your DH is feeling better and enjoyed his cheeseburger, Robo. Yes, trips can be rescheduled, and nice you are still planning to have some park fun with your grandson and maybe in another month or so.
Yes, I will see how things progress here at home and hopefully will take grandson before he starts his next Semester of University this coming Fall.

I’m getting old & soft, found myself tearing up
Re Rocket raccoon in Guardians movie. DH looked at me at said, you realize those are raccoons we continually battle here for dominance. Lol
It is said if a movie evokes an emotion it must be good.

Their official policy, after 24 hours, no changes unless u buy their ins.

However, I’ve had same results with them when I stated one of us had Covid. Attitude changed immediately
Allegiant is the only reasonable airline we have around us. So if we have to fly it has been convenient to use them. Will see what they do.

Thank you. We are so thankful to have our family so close here. They have all been a blessing. Grandson is so sweet. If things work out I will definitely treat him to a vacation. I had never had a Sonic cheeseburger before and they were very good.

You have a wonderful day too.

Good evening everyone. Fairly quiet day today. I ended up going to see my medical practitioner today. I have been having issues with my toes and leg since we returned from California. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious.
I hope they can find out what is going on with your toes and leg. Those parks require lots of walking and legs and feet do get a good work out for sure.

Great news. Hope he continues to improve quickly.

Thank you Charade. Yes, so thankful he is progressing.

It is overcast this morning. But no rain is predicted.

Hubby has doc appt this morning. So I need to get movin.

Have a wonderful Friday everyone.

Hope good news at his doctor’s appointment, Robo. Glad family is helping, and nice if all is okay, you can get away a few days with your grandson.

Possible light rain in the next hour just flashed my phone. I expect more heavier rain as the day goes along.

Older one is about. He’s such a good kid. Takes a coworker to work and then comes back to get ready to work when he starts.

Then it’s what’s for lunch with little one. We both will walk, then not sure what to eat. Did pick up chicken at a very good price yesterday, as there’s a grocery store a block from where my office is. And nicely, we have two large refrigerators in our office floor’s break room/kitchen area, so can put your grocery items needing refrigeration or freezer, in them, and then hope you don’t forget them when you leave to go home. I write a note and leave on my laptop to try to remind me. It did, so grocery bag, including the chicken came home with me.

So happy it’s now Friday. Even with a short week, always get that Friday feeling happiness on a day like today. Rainy or not. At least next week will be a shorter one too. Holiday one next weekend. This weekend, will bring puzzle to sister to do with her. This one’s needs more hands to finish.

Happy Friday. I am the only one awake right now. I was planning on a day of doing noting, but dh wants to go see the new Spiderverse movie. I don't think dh knows how to do nothing for an extended period of time. At Disneyland, there were times that we had a long wait before our next activity, but there was not enough time to get in line for something else while we waited. B and i were content to find a bench and just people watch for awhile. Dh had to keep moving. He would go into shops, which was dangerous because he usually bought something.

I just heard from my doctor's office. They have scheduled me with a specialist, but they appointment isn't until July 25. Hopefully the medication she prescribed will give me some relief until then.

Dh is awake. I should start getting ready for the day. I have a feeling we will be getting brunch somewhere.

Oh Charade, hope your foot and leg feel better with the medicine the doctor gave you. Annoying have to wait a month to be seen. We liked the Spiderman movie.

Hey all. It’s literally a steamy day here

A20E0B1E-0EC9-45DC-8D89-B2F85A09F0C8.jpeg
As in, I’ve never seen steam coming off our walking track. Only lasted 1.25 miles today

DH stuck it out, saying he wants to get used to
The humidity next week. Nope, I plan on pool & A/C & dinner before pm park hours

Pretty sure never we experienced these real feel temps
460680E3-A74A-4754-BF71-42EA73A00BA2.jpeg

This summer turning out to be a scorcher nearly everywhere

I have been having issues with my toes and leg since we returned from California. Hopefully it’s nothing too serious.
Uh oh, all the walking might have brought an underlying issue to the forefront
I discovered that the Peacock channel has some of the old Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, so I have been watching those. I had such a crush on Shaun Cassidy when I was a kid.
Ooh, yes, Shaun Cassidy was the heart throb the mom’s preferred for their DDs. . Harry styles is this gen’s, in same lane. That was a fun show

Do u watch the new Nancy drew series? It’s definitely skewed for older teens, a guilty pleasure of mine as I loved the books
Never tried Aventura, that and the two on I drive are only three I have not stayed at yet,
A was good for us as to a short stay. Not a fan of the poolscape & that lovely lounge area is consistently poorly managed. We keep trying it and, Theron is probably the rub…no need to
Step it up if it still packs people into it

The two offsite have also tempted me for possible trip when I’m covering the lodging for my extended brood during a quickie HHN weekend. Where else can u stay there to sleep 8 pp for under $150 a night?
And a final yay. Staycation with the GD and annual Summer trip for the Keisha gang. Woot! Trip next week for you. July holiday park fun for your family. Woot!
Thanks. Other than being unreasonably surprised by the forecast heat in july :p & keeping an eye on the early tropical storms already, it’s full steam ahead

Allegiant is the only reasonable airline we have around us. So if we have to fly it has been convenient to use them. Will see what they do.
I’m not a fan of the extra drive/limited rental car options @ SFB. If they flew into MCO, we’d fly more often. Can’t beat the military benefits they offer to those that served
Thank you. We are so thankful to have our family so close here. They have all been a blessing. Grandson is so sweet. If things work out I will definitely treat him to a vacation. I had never had a Sonic cheeseburger before and they were very good.
Indeed! It’s a real blessing to have family nearby.

I’ve never had sonic either, even tho one of the closest places here Generally, avoid takeout burgers. When I grab one, it’s usually in the five guys across the street.
just heard from my doctor's office. They have scheduled me with a specialist, but they appointment isn't until July 25. Hopefully the medication she prescribed will give me some relief until then.
