Something About Nothing............ #14

Keisha, I have seen streets steaming after a summer storm on a hot July day. Lucky you to have that hot and humid air. Not here. A crappy, humid and cool, rainy day for me.

Phone just warmed of thunderstorms at 6 tonight. Eh. Was misty and lightly raining when we did our lunchtime walk. I too have yet to be at a Sonic. We have a very good local burger place, that only has that one, that we can walk to. Sonic is about 12 or so minutes drive away, but we never think to try it.

Quiet enough day. Hehe, just got an email talking about a company named Goob. I just had to laugh at that name. Toad the Wet Sprocket is playing at our local theatre. Still tickets left for tonight’s show. Asked little one if interested in still going, but got a silence. To be fair, I actually remembered that band name, as was popular in the 1990’s. Okay, I’m older. LoL

Oh Charade, hope your foot and leg feel better with the medicine the doctor gave you. Annoying have to wait a month to be seen. We liked the Spiderman movie.
Thanks. I am hoping someone cancels and I can get in sooner.

Uh oh, all the walking might have brought an underlying issue to the forefront
That’s what I am afraid of. My practitioner doesn’t think It’s restless leg syndrome or blood sugar related, so I guess that’s good.

Do u watch the new Nancy drew series? It’s definitely skewed for older teens, a guilty pleasure of mine as I loved the books
I have not. I heard a description and it didn’t sound like something I would like.

“Karen” amused us at lunch today. She complained to the server that she had been waiting for her food for 30 minutes. Less than 5 minutes later the manager stopped by and she told him she had been waiting for an hour. Her food arrived a few minutes later and she complained that her fried fish had too much breading. The manager offered to have it recooked, but she refused. The manager comped her meal. She didn’t eat the fish, but took it with her in a to go box along with every packaged condiment that was on the table. I think she complained about other things, but I tuned her out.

Almost time for the movie to start.

Yeah Charade, I thought that was crappy ending too. Like I thought also it was mostly a Gwen story more than Miles. Whatever. But at least a mostly fun movie.

We had quite the very loud thunder. First one sounded like a close very loud gunshot. Then the downpours, including phone warning of flash flooding. From the sound of the traffic now, water on road must not be an issue, as doesn’t seem to sound like it’s even wet. But next 6 days, says we have chance of rain every single day. I guess our state said it needs more water, and so the weather is complying.

Friday night has me chilling, and that’s the way it should always be.

Oh and got our Barbie tickets. Oddly, little one wants to see it, so I thought me too. And so, next month we get to view it a few days after it comes out. I hate to go on a week day evening, so a lunchtime Saturday showing is what I booked.

4:30 am and I am awake. I just heard 3 loud beeps - like the ones you hear when the batteries in the smoke detectors need replacing. 3 beeps and then nothing else. I appear to be the only one in the house that heard them. Looks like I am going to be up for awhile.

Oh no Charade. I heard a beeping when I got up the other day. Seems the last person who was in the refrigerator, didn’t close it all the way. Hope you found what was beeping, and got back to sleep.

Eh was up late last night, but am always that early riser. Did some wash, and since house still feels cool from the outside still in the 60’s overnight, lit the oven. Pan breakfast in it now.

But a warm front stays for a few days, before a cold front arrives by Monday night, and a bit cooler Tuesday we will have, back into 70’s. But am thankful the rainy days end on Thursday, and the heat pump starts on Friday, with 84 the high, and weekend 85 and 86 highs, and to be close to 90 on next Monday. Woot! Holiday weekend, well coming next Tuesday, has weather looking like summer is finally here.

But rainy weather again today. On a Saturday no less, but that’s fine. Little one asked what I had planned for today, yesterday. I said bank visit and that’s it. Well, wash, a long, hot shower with fresh washed towels, and the remote for our biggest tv. And that teapot was hot on the stove before I even turned on the oven.

Loving this quiet morning.

Have a super, most perfect, and peaceful Saturday. Good morning all.

Hey all, hoping all have a great weekend. Including those who haven’t posted in a bit. Door is always welcome here, 24-7 as Mac leaves a light on for us

Sometimes it’s better to be in the dark.

it rained last night, didn’t hear a thing. Some sprinkles off & on today for DS charity golf outing. They have a boosters club, he does this as an add on himself every year. DiL usually handles set up/tear down At the country club. She’s away with GD for a soccer tournie this weekend. Guess who gets to sub? Lol. I’m not Showing up until 2:30 pm

My sauce simmering most of am, in an hour will add the hot sausage, ground beef & onion I cooked off last night. Then it’s on to cook up 8 boxes of penne. That should heat up my kitchen. Plopping into two huge sterno pans & will set it up there. Should hold until the golfers start to trickle in around 4 pm. :confused3

She complained to the server that she had been waiting for her food for 30 minutes. Less than 5 minutes later the manager stopped by and she told him she had been waiting for an hour.
Little does she know, the server times in the exact moment she starts the order. it’s truly one of my pet peeves when people try to get over in a restaurant for a freebie. Always seems the person has already eaten half of it before deciding “it’s bad” lol

If the food is not prepared properly or of terrible quality/questionable food safety issue, that’s valid to right away, bring it to the attention of the server. Not when the table is being cleared. If it’s just not to your specific taste as to seasoning etc, I file it under suck it up buttercup.
Oh and got our Barbie tickets
Lol Early birds. Commercials are starting to play hot & heavy For it. Haven’t had issues showing up the weekend of new releases since covid. Although we do prefer a 6 or 7 pm showing, perhaps not as popular time? I just buy them online the day of, I need the back row, never a real demand for those seats. Do think many here no longer patronize the theaters, just wait for streaming…legal or otherwise.

saw I-95 had that temporary fix in place, has it helped traffic in the area?

I think so, Keisha. Officially opened around noon yesterday. They will build the actual bridge while the temp one is in use. Lots of ground fill, until height of highway, then can be paved over. I’m sure they will want to put bridge in before the colder times. Saying a couple of months to build. Lucky, I rarely go that way. But since is where I go, was a pain with more traffic from the fire damaged bridge. Yay for kitchen smelling of pasta and gravy.

Trying to get little one moving is like pond water. Sigh. I can never get her much early, except when we have that before dawn flight. August, only one direct flight, mid afternoon, down, and three on way back, one before dawn, one early evening, one doesn’t get back until after midnight. We booked the early evening. Same ones in September. Crappy, given as we are definitely not a SW hub. But at least all booked, and got rental down a little for August, and still keeping lowest I have seen for September.

haha she has her priorities in order!

Those are lousy flight choices. We still tend to have 3 or 4 SWA flights a day, sometimes they will eliminate one entirely & you have to scramble to pick the one that works best. I remember when their scheduled flights rarely changed times.

we are considering taking spirit down in September out of LBE as parking is free there. A rarity as so far out in boonies. only a 7 pm flight tho, and just one per day. If it’s cancelled, up the creek. took it once and was delayed several hours, hate missing so much on that first day when at the parks. That tends to happen more these days it seems The later in the day you do travel.

At least y’all have options. My city has one airline to chose from. I have to drive an hour to have more options, almost 2.5 hours to fly Southwest.

I’m checking flights from my city every day hoping they come down enough for me to switch flights.

Yeah, while I had delays with SW, never so much as when I flew Frontier. They rescheduled the next day. Scrambled for that one. SW just had been hours delayed. I am lucky, the city airport has lots of flights, just not as many with SW. Am glad they did come to my city though. Only way to FLA was American. Now. SW still cheaper than them. And even nicer, the USO moved to the terminal SW flies out of. At least I can now grab some food and drink on our way to our gate.

Yum Yum donuts and iced coffee. Yay! Both places on way home from our Target than Costco run. Oh and did get to the bank too. Most crowded? You guessed it. The Costco. Though Target was pretty crowded too. Bank, only if you needed help. And yay, they even had 3 clerks to serve those with the normal stuff.

And rained the whole time we were out and about. On the way home, we opened the windows. Was almost sunny, and oh so muggy out now. Still not as they say, out of the woods yet. Stormy evening they are saying. Grass will be happy. DH was going to mow, if it dries out enough after that morning into afternoon rain, he’ll mow it later this afternoon. Kinda needs it.

Oooh what to watch now.

Good evening. Lazy day today. I ran a few errands, but mostly haven’t done much of anything. Dh had plans for tonight so B and I had a movie night. We each picked a movie. I introduced her to Gaslight. She chose The Avengers, which we have already seen several times.

There isn’t anything worth watching on TV tonight (though oddly enough, one channel is showing The Avengers) so I am going to start another book. I discovered that I am 3 books behind on one of my favorite authors.

Just zoning out watching old tv shows on ion channel.
I like the older Law and Order shows.

I can zone out and just relax from taking a break on the paperwork I have been dealing with.

Hope all are doing fine and having a relaxing weekend.

I was hoping someone will turn the heat down
lol
a bit too hot for me to do yard work all this past week.

Hope not too stressful with all that paperwork, Mac. You are doing a great job settling the estate. We are getting slightly hotter, but not as hot as the South has been getting lately. Stay safe, and in that AC mostly today.

Yes, I say crap on tv most of the time. I do find it sometimes interesting, mostly for background noise though. Watching Aerial America now. It is beautiful to see by air, and this episode is the West.

And woot! That glorious sunshine start to this Sunday.

Took another hot shower, and actually heard our AC go on at time last night. We went to get Chinese food for a late dinner, yesterday, and was so muggy out, and a little rainy.

At least it will be sunny most of the day, but then by dinnertime, the clouds and the evening rain. Yeah, almost every day this week, rain some time during the day. 82 the high, with 89 percent dew point. Ah yes, muggy anyone? We are.

Super sized most serene Sunday to all. Find some time to relax.

For us? Relaxing and maybe some pool time, as why not? And since sister is getting older, 13 years older than me, I like to meet up with her at least some time during a week or two.

Took a very long and hot shower. When I got out, DH said he was almost ready for a bath. I said, since we have a tank for hot water, he needs to wait about 20 minutes for the water to refill and get heated. No matter, he went to do wash. We tend to only use cold water there, so no issue with his waiting for wash to use the rest of the hot water. It’s been almost 30 minutes. I guess he will wander soon in the bathroom.

That glorious sunshine. I so like it. Rocking shades. Ah, I love getting up right before the sunrise on a day where the sunshine starts from that sunrise.

Hope Robo’s DH is doing well, and hope his doctor’s appointment went good yesterday. Sending lots of mummy dust well wishes to him.

Charade, how is toes and leg today?

Not sure what I had, but thinking maybe I had a little ick in my ear, that also drained into my throat and irritated my tonsils. But taking that medicine like clockwork, I just about feel normal. Will take the last if it today. If I didn’t feel better by this weekend, would have asked for antibiotics.

Did I say sunshine? Ooh so like it. And yep I hear the bath running. Guess DH needed some relaxing bath water to start the day too.

Charade, how is toes and leg today?
Feeling a little better, but not much. I was prescribed a muscle relaxer for my leg. I was hoping it would knock me out for the night, but I still woke up twice during the night.

Glad it didn’t turn out to be something more serious.

I need to start getting ready for church. This morning we are celebrating a women’s birthday. I think she is 95.

The sun has returned temporarily, but brought the humidity with it. Yuck.

charade I do hope you improve and start to feel more comfortable this morning!

Hope the muscle relaxer meds kick in and give you relief

I just heard from my doctor's office. They have scheduled me with a specialist, but they appointment isn't until July 25. Hopefully the medication she prescribed will give me some relief until then.
Sorry to hear you are having to wait to see the specialist that long. Hopefully they will have a cancellation and you can get in sooner.

As in, I’ve never seen steam coming off our walking track. Only lasted 1.25 miles today
You can see the steam coming off the track in your photo.

I’m not a fan of the extra drive/limited rental car options @ SFB. If they flew into MCO, we’d fly more often. Can’t beat the military benefits they offer to those that served
Yes, it is a drive. They have quite a few of the major rental car places, but they are more expensive than MCO for sure. Nice to hear they do honor those that have served in the military.

My sauce simmering most of am, in an hour will add the hot sausage, ground beef & onion I cooked off last night. Then it’s on to cook up 8 boxes of penne. That should heat up my kitchen. So nice of you to step in to help out. I bet your penne meal was much appreciated and enjoyed.

Hope Robo’s DH is doing well, and hope his doctor’s appointment went good yesterday. Sending lots of mummy dust well wishes to him.
Hubby‘s appt went well. I know he is getting better when he is fussing about going to the Doctor.

lynne, you have tonsils?
I was in the era that mine were removed when I was 4.

Just the way it was done back in the dark ages…
I had my tonsils out in the dark ages too Mac. You are right that was just the way things were done back then.

It is funny how things like that can evoke such strong memories.

I was 3 years old when my tonsils were removed. I can remember the Nuns would come and get me out of the crib and rock me in the rocker in our room and give me ice cream. My sister had hers out at the same time.

The hospital was run by the Sisters of St. Francis of Perpetual Adoration. They were wonderful compassionate lady’s.

We had a hot day yesterday. It reached 91 degrees. I was out in the yard doing a few things. It is supposed to be 96 today. It was sprinkling a little when I got up, but now the sun is out in force.

Nothing much planned for the day. I need to get a few things done in my office.

Might take hubby out for lunch. He can pick were he wants to go.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone.
