Something About Nothing............ #14

Is a good thing older one got home when he did. We have had at least 4 large dumps of noisy rain. The last one was windy too, and still raining now. Sone say the like to sleep to the sound of rain. Me, tends to wake me up. But I’m good at going back to sleep after that wake up in the middle of a good sleep. Hear our sump pump getting it’s workout. Think more than an inch so far. At least car and office, and home windows now clear.

Stay safe

It`s always good to start the day with a good old laugh and I absolutely did this morning, what you read can start the day the right way...

Well an early night was a good idea for us last night, slept like tops and right through till 7am which is absolutely a long lie in for me!! But so good....

Dull, grey and cold here today, but as far as I`m aware we aren`t going out anywhere till tomorrow which will be lovely. I do have the lady who waxes my legs coming this morning at 9am, I do like she does home visits now and she doesn`t charge much more. I did tell her she should charge a lot more to cover her fuel, but I think she`s saving a lot not having her business in a shop anymore. Nice girl.

So, a day of not very much except some baking I think and maybe we`ll settle down for a movie afternoon. So a very cosy day ahead with me and my mister. And catch up on some emails........::yes::

Takeout food tonight, I think Kyle is joining us which will be lovely, probably pizza since Kyle is choosing, I`m not bothered which typ of food it is.

But, for now I`m warming my teapot before making a pot of tea then I`ll set the kitchen table and we`ll have some croissants with fruit and continental meats for breakfast and a grilled Brie, bacon and cranberry grilled sandwich for lunch....food sorted for the day.

Have a wonderful Saturday ☺️

Ah, the rain has left, and even with those rounds of heavy downpours, was not even an inch, though very close to one, 95 inches. And we are windy. 17 mph will certainly make it feel cooler today. But a dry weekend, so yay for a partly sunny 50 degree day today, and a beautiful all day sunny Sunday with 54 degrees the high.

Saturday, our day to do a return. At least I can do an online order returned to a brick and mortar store. Trouble with online buying sized clothing, as when trying on, not the right size. Happy can return it easily. Then some other errands to do. And some English football online viewing too.

Schumi, yes, so nice to have a good laugh to start the day. And some enjoyable tea this morning as well. Pizza takeout is always a nice weekend meal. Good choice from Kyle.

Yes, I’m still that early bird, with my teapot hot, and second refill of my tea mug already. Some mornings I’m more thirsty than others, but almost all start with tea.

So hope all have a most happy, super sized Saturday and that most wonderful weekend.

Yes, this weekend is the one I now have two 9 year old girls in my extended family. And an another niece birthday toward the end of the month. Yeah, she’s in her late 30’s, and being my second oldest niece. My one brother made me an aunt when he had my nephew, who was born when I was an older teen. I’m so lucky, I have a good sized extended family.

Ooh maybe I’ll make some cupcakes. Sweet smelling kitchen? Why not this early morning. 😊

Not the dull quiet day I expected!

When I txt one of my friends to say the lady who waxes was coming over, she said she`d come too....I said I wasn`t sure if she had time, but turns out I was her only client today. So she appeared, with husband in tow......asked if he wanted waxed too.......I was met with an abrupt No!!!

So, we got our legs and eyebrows waxed and they didn`t rush away, stayed for lunch and only just left after a cocktail.....well it is Saturday afternoon!!!

I will admit ::yes:: ......us two ladies had the taller of the two glasses!! The guys only wanted a small one, but we do seem to have loads of those larger glasses in general!!

Gin and lemonade, and a pink gin with lemonade in there too. Perfect Saturday afternoon with good friends.

The house has a very strong aroma of garlic.....I roasted off two large bulbs to make a garlic dip to go with our pizzas tonight. They do sell a garlic dip of course, but it`s completely artificial tasting and yuk......fresh home made is so much better with home made mayo. I made that this morning.

Watching the qualifying for the Bahrain GP now.....:car:

Several hours till dinner......need a snack!!

Good Saturday afternoon everyone :wave2:

Robo, so good to hear from you. A very happy birthday to you. What a great looking lamp. And some nice time, gifts, and meals to celebrate. Hope your DH cataract surgery goes well. Sending good thoughts his way. I know they can help save vision, as two of my extended family had it done, years ago now. And jealous of that beautiful and hot weather. But there are times I like our four seasons. Just long enough weather, I can complain of the hot and cold. Lol. Cooler day, and overcast is my current weather.
Thank you Lynne. My sister knows I like WWOHP things. Thank you for your good thoughts.

I saw that video of the lady with the dog the alligator killed. One of the things that shocked me most was the video was playing up until it grabbed her....truly horrific. Poor lady.
It was terribly shocking to see for sure.

First person we met who knew it was our first visit back in 07 told us, if the water is bigger than a bath tub, there could be an alligator in it. We always remember that.
It is a very big eye opener when you live in Florida. You for sure have to be aware of Alligators, Snakes and Fire Ants here.

Good luck to your husband on Thursday, hope his procedure goes well and continued good wishes for your son and daughter too.
Thank you, He did well with cataract surgery. Son and daughter are doing ok.

A Happy belated birthday Robbie I am a day late

:bday:
Thank you Mac. I hope you and your hubby are doing well.

Happy Belated Birthday! Sounds like it was a perfect way to spend your birthday.
Good luck to your dh and ds. I hope they continue to get positive test results - and that the procedure for your dh goes well.
Thank you Pumpkin. Everyone is doing ok.

WV partially lived up to it’s billing for GD (wild and wonderful), again #2 overall…she tries harder
Congratulations to your granddaughter on her second place overall medals. That is a big accomplishment.

Robbie - good luck to your mr on the surgery!
Thank you Janet. He did good with this surgery.

Hope your hubby is continuing to recover.

Oh, that video (even cutting away at the actual moment) was just horrific. appears they are still fishing out more gators from that lake. Poor woman, what an awful way to pass. So ironic tho that her dog survived.
The video was very hard to watch. Thankfully if cut away. I’am not surprised they are fishing more Gators out.

Yes, it is ironic that the little dog which is what the Gator was after survived.

The Alligators are very fast and can lunge forward lightening fast and quickly retreat back in the water. They will get back in the water and do what‘s called a death roll to drown their prey.

There have been a number of Alligator attacks near the waterways here in Florida where dog owners were walking their dogs and were fatally attacked.

KStar82 good to see you post. Hope all in well in your neck of the woods.

Hope all goes well for both of them.
They are doing well.

Hope everyone is doing well this good Saturday afternoon.

Wow…..we reached 92 degrees here yesterday and 90 today. This has been a very warm winter so far.

Hubby’s cataract surgery went well on Thursday morning. We went see the Eye Surgeon yesterday and he said his eye looked good. Hubby has to use two different eye drops for 3 weeks, but small price to pay for getting your vision corrected. Left eye surgery in a couple of weeks.

Sons test went ok. Surgeon said he is still not healed up totally, but she wants to hopefully hold off on surgery until he heals some more.

Our pollen count has really went up down here and my asthma has kicked in a bit. First time in a long time here. I love being outside working in my Flower beds, but needed to take a break today.

Went to breakfast with one of my Rockit Sista‘s early this morning. I had my favorite breakfast, Eggs Benedict. I always have that when we go to breakfast. I wish I could get hubby to get up early and go, but he is not an early riser anymore. This restaurant is very popular with the locals and there are not tables to be had after 7:30 am.

We went to the Farmers Market after breakfast. They still have the delicious Orri tangerines in season. I’am going to miss those when they are gone. I bought some other produce and some fresh orange juice and back home we went.

Decided to have a lazy rest of the day. I took a short nap and I’am relaxing in my chair and hubby is watching College Basketball.

Have a wonderful Saturday doing whatever it is that makes you happy.

Glad all the kids and your husband are doing well Robbie, I’m sure you’ll still worry, but sounds like they’re on the right path.

Your day sounds ideal to be honest, love eggs Benedict and breakfast out is always nice. Farmers markets are such a joy to go round. Hope you have a lovely weekend.

Almost bedtime here, tonight we watched the film, We have a ghost on Netflix…..it was a decent movie, some funny parts and sad too at the end. The wonderful actress who played Stifflers mom ( American Pie movies) was in it, but not a huge part, she is fabulous!!

Tonight we had rain, it went off after an hour, now it’s just cold. We might get some snow this week according to the forecast, hope they’re wrong as I’m ready for spring!

Farmer dropped us some more eggs tonight, chickens are due to stop laying anytime so he’s not selling them as he thinks they’re not his usual standard, they’re still miles better than grocery store eggs, so he’s giving them away to anyone, they have their regular buyers. We always get dozens for free so we don’t need to line up to get them the way the general public do and the line of cars can be 10 to 15 deep waiting to buy them.

Yep, rain is back on, will be drifting off to the sounds of it hitting the windows tonight…….

Hope your Saturday has been a good one :)

The paper is done and submitted for grading!!!!!! The only thing I have left to do is write up a short summary of my final photoshop project ands then submit the project and summary. I think I will do that tomorrow.

We will party with you once you have finished school
I will make cupcakes and we will all celebrate with you!
Aww...thank you. Can I have chocolate with peanut butter frosting?

Saturday, our day to do a return. At least I can do an online order returned to a brick and mortar store. Trouble with online buying sized clothing, as when trying on, not the right size. Happy can return it easily.
That's the thing that keeps me from buying most clothing online. I really need to try before I buy and hate doing returns.
Have a wonderful Saturday doing whatever it is that makes you happy.
Well...I spent today at Walmart and Sam's Club (what was I thinking doin that on a Saturday?) and then finishing my paper. I will do something happy tomorrow.

I think I will celebrate finishing my paper by eating a yummy dessert. DH and I stopped by Nothing Bunt Cakes today and bought a couple of mini cakes. Mine is white chocolate raspberry.

Robbie that is fantastic news your husband’s eye surgery went well and healing fine

Wishing his next set up eye surgery goes just as smooth as the first one!

Opinions wanted. I am going to purchase some family shirts for our DL trip. B’s will say “The Grad”. Mine will say “The Other Grad”. Dh’s will say “Dad of the Grad (and husband of the other grad)”. I am debating adding “and Mom of the Grad” to my shirt. What do you think?

I wouldn’t mind seeing your the other grad and mom of the grad both on your shirt, Charade. Nice you are both.

Long hot shower. And ready way before need to. That’s okay. DH and me time.

Congratulations on finishing!! You should be very proud of yourself for what you`ve achieved.

I love ordering clothes online, trying them on at home is fine for me and our returns are so easy, you can pop them back in the same bag and the dleivery guy will pick them up again, money refunded in a day or so or we can drop the package off at one of the many drop off places close by us, again takes no time at all.

I still do enjoy going clothes shopping in actual stores though.

Enjoy your dessert, you deserve it......

Whew…you are done charade.
A dozen of mini cakes with white chocolate raspberry for you!

Sounds good doesn`t it!!!

Honestly, I would go with one or the other and not both.

Up early as always this morning, it`s very rare we sleep later than usual, so it is nice when we do have a snuggly morning, but up and out this morning to one of our friends who has decided it`s time to bring back the Sunday Brunch get togethers......and it was lovely, she is the best hostess!

There were 12 of us altogether so there was lots of laughter and good food with friends, hard to beat. I doubt we`ll need dinner tonight either, so a very lazy afternoon just the two of us watching the Bahrain Grand Prix, need to call my cousin in LI first, we keep missing each other on the phone.

Planning our week ahead too, we have a few things to do and organise so we`ll sort our appointments out this afternoon.

Kettle on though for a nice fresh pot of tea.......

Happy Sunday :-)

Happy Sunday, everyone:

I love reading what all of you write about, even if I don't comment much.

I had a sudden burst of energy and ran the sweeper in every room but one!!! Whew! I don't know where that came from? I cleaned up the kitchen and even tackled bathrooms. I also made a lemon cake, Yum!!!!

We are going out for supper tonight at our local steak house. They are running a special of steak with 12 shrimp that my husband wants to try. I don't like any seafood (wow, I know) at all. I would starve if I lived near the ocean and that's all we had, LOL. So I'll just have the steak, I think.

I;m going to finish sewing and quilting a baby blanket. I have made 5 now. 2 are sewed and quilted, and 3 are crocheted receiving blankets. I got the idea of pre-making baby blankets just in case I didn't or couldn't make them for any great grandbabies. A friend gave me the idea, so I've been busy with these. I just love making blankets for babies. They are so bright and cheery:) I have arthritis in the hands, so I know that one day I wont be able to do this, so I am loving doing this now! So far, I have 2 great grandkids. One is 9 months old and one is 5 years old. They are such a delight and fun to be around. The older one lives in Chicago so I don't get to see him much, or as much as I would want to!

Here's hoping there is no snow this week! I just figured out how to drop some photos, so will add some of our flower gardens and trees to make us think Spring:)flowers, yard, August 5,2015 001.JPGflowers, yard, June 11, 2016 013.JPGflowers, yard, June 11, 2016 002.JPGfall, 2016 002.JPGfall, 2016 012.JPGPICT0310.JPG

Ruth everything around you is so beautiful!!

You and your husband are certainly expert gardeners, and plenty of purple too.....love it.

Wait.......you don`t like seafood???? Sorry, I don`t understand that concept..... :rotfl: yes, living beside the sea might not appeal to you too much food wise. We love it, but we both adore seafood of any kind....except shark!!

I`m sure your blankets are gorgeous too, you certainly are very talented with crafts and gardens! And that is a lovely idea to make some in case you couldn`t in the future, I`m sure they are adored. I agree, living away from family isn`t always easy......thank goodness for Facetime.

Had such a lazy day.....my cousin in LI called me before I could call her, we chatted for almost an hour then we watched the Grand Prix, I fell asleep leaning against Tom.....didn`t wake up till the end of the race and poor soul waited till I woke up before going to the loo.....lol......he didn`t want to distub me.

Still not hungry, but might have a slice of toast later if we get peckish, but right now I doubt it. Will make another pot of tea though in a little while.

Going to pop the tv on later, right now it`s just the 70`s/80`s radio channel that`s on, it`s always amazing how many times we say we haven`t heard that song for years!!

Ah, tea is ready.......

It was enjoyable and very crowded. Had a nice lunch h at the Hard Rock, and a stop at the indoor market to get fresh piped cannoli from the Italian bakery that is a favorite. So back, with a quick train ride, and yea and my large cannoli. Guess dinner will be late tonight. Then trash to curb and alarm set. Yep back to routine week day starts tomorrow, as well the sound of trash trucks early in the morning.

Hope all have an amazing night.

Me again. I was at the theater watching dh's play, so I really didn't have much time to post, but was so excited I had to do a quick post. It's like a huge weight has been lifted.

I love all the flower pictures. I like looking a pretty flowers, but don't have any around my house. Flowers attract bees and I'm a bit phobic.

I've decided to do nothing for the rest of the evening. I will turn in my photoshop project tomorrow.
