The only one we missed was the Luxor. I really wanted to see that but didn't have the time. We took the side trip to the Hoover Dam which was frightening and interesting. LOL

Luxor was our visit visit there…fascinating architecture as to how the rooms face atrium inside the pyramid.

One of the dishes I love in America is sweet potato casserole....which is not a casserole to me, just a side dish

I call that version dessert, especially when they put the dreaded marshmallow topping on it.

Our Keisha posted a picture a few years ago of a bear near her home....scary indeed!

we were just talking hadn’t seen one in a few years, thankfully lol

anyone remember this bear? Koda, One of the rare characters they tend to trot out for the disney geeks at the member events. Duffy the bear was there too. Wasn’t about to brave his line

Carole - we never made it up to the wynn as it’s north of our stomping grounds on the strip. have heard it’s truly lovely & genteel. We’re of the when in Rome sort there…give me giant icons & over-the-top/garish design lol. prefer staying near airport as traffic on strip can be a nightmare and on the monorail side to be able to get up the north end of strip. admit I’d be bored if more than 3 nights though. It’s the perfect home base to head to Hoover dam & Grand Canyon or before LAX trips for us.

just family here today, wings, maybe make individual pizzas if kids want, small charcuterie, snacks. need to Make my Chex mix (yum) and a couple of 3 foot hoagies on French bread from sams, that I’ll slice down Into serving sizes. If I’m lucky enough leftovers to not have to cook tomorrow.

Food sounds lovely for today, no one will leave hungry for sure.

I`ve never tried that dish with marshmallows, I have heard about it, not sure......I`d try it though! I do love marshmallows....now I`m thinking of them!!

I have no idea of the hotel layout in Vegas at all, I had no idea there was such a thing as a monorail! Listening to our friend who loves Vegas, he always made the Wynn sound so lovely, he only stays there now...but I would have to go see and see all the sights and sounds that make Vegas what it is.....the more brazen the better at times!!!

Dinner was lovely, that beef was so tender it fell off the fork. Some left for Tom`s lunch tomorrow, he`ll have it in a chunk of French Bread with lots of gravy......

Put the tv on to watch some music channels.....between the 70`s and 80`s....why do they all put their ads on at the same time....I flick to catch a song, and the ads are on every channel at the same time.

That really is a Something about nothing moan.

Think we might head out of the kitchen and stick a movie on later, won`t be late though as we`re both already yawning!

Having a tonic water with a swish of lime tonight.......

I was glad to see Kansas won.......I was told late last night that`s who I should be supporting......who knew, especially as I didn`t even know they were playing and who they were playing!!

I wish we were out walking this morning as it is stunningly beautiful out there, everything is pure white with frost and the sun is now up and it is gorgeous. Cold though, but ideal for walking.

Men are here building the bedroom closets up.......made them a cuppa and left them to it, now we can just hear them.

So, we`re in for the day, once the bed has arrived and put together, will get all the new bedding on it and then hopefully sit back and admire it all finished....can`t wait for that!

Making chicken breasts with a pepper sauce tonight for dinner, lunch for Tom is his French dip style sandwich, I`m going to have a bacon, brie and cranberry grilled sandwich, it`s a day for something warm.

Time for another cuppa......

What a day!!!!

Absolutely gorgeous day outside, and we were inside for all of it.

New closets all built up, really pleased with them and then bed arrived.....I feel like it`ll be like I`m in the Princess and the Pea fairy story.......it is huge!!! My feet don`t touch the ground by a lot when I sit on the side of the bed, it`s so high and the mattress is the deepest one we`ve ever had. We love it!!!

Everything back in it`s place now, took us most of the day, but it was worth all the work. Now we can`t wait to go to bed tonight!!! Everything is new which is always nice.

Just need to get some other lamps and more cushions.......ssshhhh....don`t tell Tom!! He thinks cushions on the bed are too much work to move every night...

Going for dinner, then a massive pot of tea, we`ve earned it......

Yep, all done now. We are thrilled with the final look everywhere.....still to get lamps for our bedroom and we bought an extra deep mattress protector, it`s not big enough for this new ultra deep mattress, so we need to source an extra, extra deep one somehow. I`ll find one.




Sleeping on a new bed/mattress is always a bit odd first few nights, first night we haven`t had a four poster bed for years, it was odd looking up and seeing the ceiling and not the canopy for a change.

But, we adore everything and how it`s turned out, decorators, flooring guys, cabinet makers and guys who built the bed up all did a fabulous job. now we can just sit back and enjoy all the changes we` ve made these last months.

Freezing fog this morning here, everything is even whiter than yesterday, so we`ll see when the sun comes up what it`s like and see if it`s ok to walk, should be. We missed yesterday so want to see how the knee is today.

Valentine`s dinner tonight, picked up the chateaubriand yesterday, well Tom did, so we just need a few fresh items today and romantic dinner for two is sorted. Haven`t opened our cards or little gifts yet as sleeping beauty is still sleeping.


Bacon for breakfast this morning, it`s a chilly one.

Woot! It’s a sweet Taco Tuesday, so Mac maybe still can enjoy a Taco Bell meal today,

45 degrees out. Yay! Above freezing and 56 the high. Shorts are on. Full day of a clear sky and ooh so sunny day. Will be rocking those shades at lunchtime.

What a weather you yo of temps this week, with some mid 60 degree days, and 40’s degree days to come, with a full day of sun Saturday. Though rain too, predicted to make a wet Thursday and Friday.

Yay to another week of no snow in the forecast, and for full sunny day this Valentine’s Day. Aww, so nice out to be with your loved one or ones today.

Thank you Carole we did enjoy our dinner out yesterday evening. It was special.

Glad to hear your boy and the little guy are doing better, and continued good thoughts he doesn`t need surgery, prayer can make a difference. But, I`m happy you have confidence in those caring for him and that he has family around that can reassure you too. That is a blessing in itself.

Thank you Carole our son is special to us as I know yours is to you. We are very blessed to have my little sister so close by. She is a wonderful Nurse and advocate for her patients and family.

Up early this morning as usual. Made a grocery list to pick up some things from the Famers Market and store. Our Nephew is coming in for a visit for a few days on Thursday. I always make big meals so I can freeze extras to send home with him as he is a bachelor. He always says I fatten him up on his visits. He has always been very thin so I do try and put a little meat on his bones.

I will be up in Fort Pierce this morning for a CT so I‘am going to go to the Famers Market and the store to shop some groceries while I’am up there.

Need to get scootin.

Robo, hope your CT scan goes well, and have fun shopping at the farmer’s market. How nice to have nephew visiting this Thursday. My anniversary started the month off. I wanted in February, so we didn’t want to get too close to today, thus, we choose the 1st, which was a Friday.

Training morning. Ugh. Have it two more days. Double ugh. Can I say, I hate databases?

How lovely your nephew is coming to visit, you`ll all enjoy that time together, and yes, I understand that feeding instinct......Kyle is a runner and has very lean frame....I always want to feed him up.......he rolls his eyes with a smile a lot at me......

Enjoy that farmers market, they are wonderful and we are blessed with many of them around these parts......honestly if it wasn`t for aluminium foil and a few other products we`d never venture into a grocery store. Hope the CT scan goes well........and as always continued good wishes for your son.




Well..... Tom bought me some flowers and a bottle of bubbly for Valentine`s Day.....the flowers are lovely......and we`ll enjoy the bubbly later....

Went out a walk this afternoon, it was freezing but the sun was bright where we are, but a five minute walk from the beach which weirdly, was still covered in fog.

It did clear a little as we walked, 3 miles today which was good for me at the moment.....but it was so still without a breath down there.

Having a small appetiser right now, some mini crab cakes from local crab and a rosemary bread I made last night, Chateaubriand soon....early dinner as we are so hungry today!!

Then movie night tonight.........
