Something About Nothing............ #14

Mr Mac and I will celebrate today and eat out tonight.

Been checking menus so will know what I want

Enjoy it Mac……any ideas on what you fancy?

Our chateaubriand was lovely……very rare with some nice sides.

But, as long as we’re together, it doesn’t matter where we are, restaurant, take out or cook a special meal. Bliss.

Have a lovely evening with mr mac.

Yep, dinner was lovely. We enjoyed some special dishes to us, and a lovely bottle of wine or two…..

Now watching an oldie of sorts, 1988 Shirley Valentine. For some reason neither of us has watched it before, but it’s quite funny.

It’s been a lovely Valentine’s Day with my very romantic husband……

schumi… it’s taco bell day and they have some new stuff on their menu

We always hit TB for VB day
Never a long wait for food this day

Enjoy it, nearest TB to us is over an hour away. But as I’m not a fan of Mexican food, it’s not worth the journey. Tom might though.

I don’t know the menu either here or in the US, but it is very popular.

Almost bedtime here, been a busy day with one thing and another.

Had a lovely walk, enjoyed a walk in the fog and then a lovely Valentine’s dinner which was lovely. Probably ate too much of the chateaubriand, but hey Ho, it was gorgeous.

Is it bad I’m already thinking of bacon in the morning………:rolleyes1

Happy Valentines Day all!

have been tied up with trying to settle my Mom’s estate. No idea there were so many moving parts there even with A simple one.

today, we cashed in one of the Red Lobster GC we tend to accumulate at Xmas as gifts. Had First good meal there since pre-covid times, hooray! Then went stove shopping, I’m getting closer to making a decision. Think I did find a new bathroom vanity, black. Naturally, will necessitate other changes if i do bite.

I kid you not, let the mr pick the movie for tonight from stuff I have taped on DVR…it’s going to be snake eyes/GI Joe origin story :rotfl:.

While I’m at it, pics from our ‘anniversary’ meal at the boathouse last week, yummo. Just a small demerit for presentation on my lobster soup lol

Robbie - good luck!
have no idea of the hotel layout in Vegas at all,
i’m told the strip is ‘only’ 4 miles, seems much longer when it’s hot as heck & you factor open alcoholic containers are permissible on the street:rolleyes1
lunch for Tom is his French dip style sandwich,
Can’t go wrong there IMO

Haha I pour over them akin to planning an attack
I wouldn’t call it Mexican food but fast food on a taco shell
That’s probably the best description I’ve hearD as to their grub. You either like it or not. For me, MickyD’s is comfort food to me now & again that is nothing akin to a hamburger I’d deign to eat anywhere else. Go figure

carole - re vegas, just thot of this. I bought this puzzle during covid, still sitting in the box haha. However, it gives a decent idea of the strip layout. The airport/mandalay bay/Luxor on left. wynn is the curved building toward the right, with the green area. Not sure if it’s still a golf course or not.

The large, gold colored building complex is MGM. The monorail starts behind it and runs up that side of street behind the resorts, last stop at Hilton (whatever it’s called now, believe a TS).

Yeah, took over a year to settle my mom’s estate, Keisha. Hugs. Never fun, and I hope you got more than enough death certificates. We were glad we did. Give a call if you need anything.

Quick good evening. I think this week is a make up for last week. I spent the entire weekend (Fri day-Sunday) working on assignments. This week I have already finished everything due for the week. I think I will relax tomorrow and then spend the rest of my free time either getting a head start on the paper I need to write or working on my final photoshop project.

Happy anniversary to Keisha and her hubby.

Happy belated anniversary to Robo and her hubby.

I just checked the hotel AP site and see AP rates for September already. If I go from 9/17 to 9/22 instead of 9/16 to 9/23 I can get Aventura for only $113 per night. I thought there was a way to modify your current reservation, bit I can't figure out how to do it.

Well, not quite sure how to describe it to be honest, you hear so many descriptions of it!! Not my kind of food as you know.......

Happy Valentines Day all!

LOVE the pictures of your anniversary dinner......I was drawn to the RL shrimp and BH oysters....heck it all looked amazing!!!

Boathouse is one place we would go back to DS for, gorgeous seafood restaurant. And glad your RL has improved.

We are a pair who love to study menu`s! Even when we know what we`re going to have.....well, everyone should have a hobby......lol......

Oh I think I`d like Vegas.........being able to stroll around with a cocktail......yep!!!

My memeory of seeing LV was the car scene from Diamonds are forever and watching Dan Tanner in the tv show Vegas (ageing myself here)

Had a look on GE yes, it makes more sense now as to the location of Wynn compared to others, I didn`t realise the strip was as large as 4 miles long to be honest!!!

You mean you haven`t done the puzzle yet.......lol......

There`s a lot of folks enjoy Aventura and changing one day isn`t too bad.

No fog this morning, seems to have disappeared overnight thankfully. It is quite beautiful to see but not so good for driving in.

Today, after a breakfast of a slice of sourdough toasted with bacon and avocado on it, no avocado for Tom.....we`ll head out a walk before lunch as again, it`s very still out there with no breeze which is perfect for walking in. Then I have some things to put back in our bedroom closets, we always had a lot of space, but the design of these ones utilises every corner and quirk of our bedroom.

Not much else going on for us, made a hair appointment for the afternoon......just feel like a touch of pampering, hair doesn`t really need cutting but she can tidy it up and I`ll have a deep conditioning session, I do enjoy that.

Dinner is pork fillet in honey mustard and balsamic marinade with some roast veg.

Charade, you can call, and I’ve had them adjust to the lower rate. Or book the better rate, and cancel your old reservation. Going to look for mine. Thanks for the head’s up.

Ooh camel is showing quite that pose. Yeah, brachytherapy weather. I’m hoping more much warmer than average for this time of year happens all year.

Why yes, a Spring feeling day for us. Warmest day this year so far. 66 degrees the high. Yep, shorts wearing day if ever, as this hump of a day felling day, makes it that much closer to our rainy, but almost as warm, Friday. But as ever, winter is still reminding us, the week ends with a 20 degree correcting high temp. Though with that gorgeous blue winter sky will return to end that week, when pants being seen returning.

Wonderful Wednesday to all. .

I thought there was a way to modify your current reservation, bit I can't figure out how to do it.
last go-round, was able to do so thru the email confirmation. Although i see you already changed it, nice snag there = more butter beers
You mean you haven`t done the puzzle yet.......lol..
Lol i avoid them like the plague. Well, unless i have kiddos to occupy on a rainy day, beats coloring pages.

We might just knock it out of the park to 70 here. very windy with some surprising big gusts about. Tomorrow, the front comes thru and knocks us back into the high to mid 50’s with a ton of rain. Beats that white stuff most of country getting socked with today!

woke up & decided perfect day to make some St Louis cut ribs. In the crockpot for the precook, then out on the grill to finish off. Mr won’t touch any pork besides bacon. he can let me know if he wants a BBQ chicken breast or a steak hoagie. Secretly hoping for the latter so I don’t have to dig in the freezer.

Wanted to share my youngest’s new ride, he wanted this specific model as the last year of the Camaro run. Ohio it was, even tho there is a bit of paper trail/hoops he needs to transverse to get it titled in PA. even tho it only had 1 mile on it, OH has no inspection system for vehicles. Need to get it handled in our state and titled here.

If you’ve ever driven thru OH on your way to somewhere, know the pieces of junk running on their roads. We saw a car in front of us on turnpike, mostly rust, with cardboard & duct tape on rear panel.

Like the first pic, struck me as “Mercia Gothic” lol

Got my reservation changed. Now I need to find a reasonably priced flight.

Glad to hear it Charade.

Nice set of wheels Keisha......that is a gorgeous car!! I love the colour too....(how girly is that of me)......but it is beautiful....hope he loves driving it!!

Ohio is known for that??? lol.....I know some cars are old, but it`s not something we see over here, although I`m sure there are some like that.

I love ribs!!!! The ones we had at the weekend really put me in the mood for them again.....

Yes, that would be a rainy day last resort for me too!

We headed out for a walk this morning, came home and did some organising. It was annoying as it is such a gorgeous day, after the fog of yesterday......we had this today….

Cold, but not too cold.

Pork fillet has been marinading all day in a few ingredients, is it bad I’m already thinking about eating it and it’s just after 3!

Might have a cuppa to tide me over.

Congratulations to your DS, Keisha. My oldest sibling, 14 years older than me, has lived in Ohio since I was very little. My mom’s second car came from Ohio. I flew out with her, and drove it home with her. Yep, had to change to a PA title, but was not as paper oriented as now. I will take 70 degrees. Yeah, we too have a windy day. 35 mph wind. Joy. Bad hair day alert.

Ah, while doesn’t rhyme like Whopper Wednesday, it’s Dollar Dumpling Day. Lunchtime walk to pick those dumplings up, though will have a bigger bill, as little one prefers their noodles, which I do not. Yum.

They call it sharkskin metallic. Love how the new metallics are just a hint of shimmer. I had a cougar back in the mid 80’s that I thot was the cat’s meow That had custom metallic finish. Thot it was the cat’s meow. Look at the random pic now and it strikes me ala a disco ball lol.

Ouch to your poor knee. Hope they get you sorted out properly, trips coming up sooner vs later!

i need to hurry up and boil up some spuds for potato salad. The mr wants to replace a plug/circuit…i forget which…in the kitchen and was told no power for a bit.

It is gorgeous, yes a colour can make a car. We always have the special metallic paints rather than base colours, makes a difference for sure. Although if you have a picture of that car I`d love to see it.......disco ball.....lol......

I was talking to a friend on Facetime tonight, and yep....you were right about Ohio.....lol.....I never heard that before, but they were like......oh yeah.......:rotfl:

I do have a friend that lives in Dayton Ohio.....must ask her too.......

Hope you got your potato salad sorted before the power went out......

Turned cold again tonight, but forecast is still showing it to be not too bad.

Quiet night tonight, dinner was lovely, the pork I did add maybe a little too much mustard, but it was still lovely. Then went up and sat at the chairs by the Bay window in our new bedroom and just admired it.....yep, really.

Think it`ll be an early night tonight.......

Finally getting to do a stop in!

Busy couple of days here...but that's a good thing ;) The cooler weather has returned, and with us being spoiled by above normal temps, I'm in whimpy mode again lol.

Concert and visit to the city was great! We had a time. Went for an awesome dinner before the concert at a steak house...then made our way to the concert. He put on an amazing show.

The play on Friday that our niece was in was REALLY good. I was actually quite shocked at how great it was. She is very happy to have been part of the production of such a a bigger production. The experience she got from doing that....priceless.

I worked my healthcare job the last 2 days. Monday was a good day....yesterday...OH MY!!!! But I survived! Had a few upset senior clients about time changes to their appointments....and explaining that I can't help that people call in sick for work...so I have to change your appointment. But needless to say, yesterday was an interesting day lol

Back to my regular job today. I am almost all caught up now. It really doesn't take me long to get caught up.

Well, I should get going now...have a great evening everyone!

Glad you had such a great time at the concert and being in the city, Pumpkin Glad jobs are doing okay. Hope a stop at Timmy’s is in your routine tomorrow. Lucky me, it’s my commuting day tomorrow. Rainy one, but whatever. We are still seeing a 60 degree temp for the next two days, until the cold front arrives to make the high 45 on Saturday. But then the skies clear in that colder Saturday.

Ooh 33 more days until the season of Spring arrives. And our flower show is about two weeks from now. Certainly will put us in a Spring mode, even if the weather is still more like Winter.

Ah, we are all relaxing after a tummy filled too much bbq dinner. Mac and cheese, cooked carrots, french fries, corn bread, and bbq pork and chicken, I pulled into easier eating pieces . Yum yum donuts to round that beached whale feeling. But that tea pot was filled, so I’m happily sipping my tea. Quiet night. And that’s good in my book.

Good evening. Slow day at work today, but I really couldn't concentrate on school work with all of the hammering going on next door.

Dh was going to go straight from work to theater rehearsal tonight, so I was prepared for a night home alone. I had changed into yoga pants and a t-shirt, and pulled my hair up into a messy bun when dh texted to tell me that his screenplay that he submitted to BEA (Broadcast Education Association) had won best in category. He wanted to meet for dinner to celebrate. He suggested Red Lobster. He wasn't there when I got there. I took out my phone to text him and had a text that there was a 30 minute wait, so he went to the Mexican restaurant at the mall. Fortunately the mall is next to Red Lobster. Now I am back home.

last go-round, was able to do so thru the email confirmation.
I thought there should be something in the email, but I couldn't find anything. I called and they were able to take care of everything for me.

Wanted to share my youngest’s new ride, he wanted this specific model as the last year of the Camaro run.
Very nice!

If you’ve ever driven thru OH on your way to somewhere, know the pieces of junk running on their roads.
Dh had family in OH and lived in Cincinnati for a year or so. I've been there a couple of times, but never paid attention to the cars.

after the fog of yesterday......we had this today….

Glad you had fun at the concert. Has your niece caught the acting bug? B wants to do more theater, but just hasn't had the time.

I'm off to figure out what to do for the rest of the evening. I am not going to do only schoolwork today.

That’s sounds as tho quite the honor for him, congrats!

That sounds like my normal at-home attire. Although usually a hoodie is in there somewhere too.

Pumpkin /sounds like a great weekend getaway. Is your niece interested in acting as a career?
