Something About Nothing............ #14

Goos morning. Getting ready to head back home. Back to reality.

I think they are similar to what you would call fish fingers.

Safe travels and I did wonder if that`s what they were called over there.

Janet peeped in as I was typing........oh nothing nicer than to make stock out of the carcasses....best soups or sauces anywhere when you use it up.

Yes, not a fan of processed fish but like you we do use canned tuna for sandwiches, well I don`t eat it but Tom loves a Tuna, mayo and onion sandwich.

Gorgeous day here, we had a lovely time at the beach where Kyle was running this morning, he was really pleased with his result and time and they gave out really nice medals.

And a lovely evening too.......

Snack items for dinner, just too warm and nice to cook inside and we`re not hungry enough for a BBQ.......that`ll do nicely.

Have you ever been to Hershey Park?
B and I went several years ago. The theme perk was fun, but I skipped the coasters. B enjoyed them though. We also did all of the chocolate experiences. Came home with a lot of chocolate. I don’t recommend going in April though. It was quite chilly when we went.

how‘s the readjustment back to the home front going?
We are still on the road right now somewhere in NC. I am not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow.

Keisha, we had annual passes to Hershey Park one year. My BIL lives about 10 or so miles from the park, so was easy to refresh there overnight before driving home. Gettysburg is close to me too. Had a work conference out there one year. Not that far from where I am, is where we go out to Tanger next to Dutch Wonderland, and Rockville outlets, as where Disney and Adidas are, Tanger has a few we go to also, including Nike. Both are close to Lancaster. Almost all highway out to there.

That’s awesome Charade. Hey, every drop in price is always welcome. I doubt mine will go lower, but will keep checking.

Ah, an overcast Monday, with 67 degrees out, and I swear I hear the AC on, as the men like it cooler inside then ours ladies. Actually house does feel a little warm.

After that most wonderful weather weekend, so fitting a cloudy and rain filled day to follow. Overcast, with phone saying light rain soon.

Ah back to that week day routine. Up still before the early sunrise, and sipping my tea and having a screen, with quiet, other then the AC running. And will be hearing the trash trucks in about an hour. They happily come early in the morning, usually.

Ooh that was a noisy vehicle that just went by on the main road a block from us.

And so, a happy homie has a shorter week day routine, with a bonus 4 day weekend. Thus, hope all have a most marvelous Monday.

Good Monday afternoon everyone :wave2:

The guys are down in Tom’s Man-shed pontificating on life I think with a beer……meanwhile Jenny and I are enjoying some large cocktails…….mine is a very spicy mango margarita with some grenadine as the lines she brought are very sharp, hers is a tequila sunrise……
The cocktails look yummy.

In case I forget to let all know, I will be out of town from Monday through Friday this coming week
But will check my phone each evening for the boards.

I have to do in person paper work etc on brother’s estate.

i always love going to Florida for fun and enjoyment.
This is a first to go for business.
Good luck Mac on getting things settled. I hope everything goes as planned for you.

We got back to the hotel and B got a nosebleed. She used to get them a lot when she was little, but hasn’t had one in years. Thankfully it stopped and she hasn’t has another on this
Sorry to hear B had a nose bleed on vacation. Hopefully this is a one and done for her.

Nothing wrong with rewarding effort and results. Blatant brag here.......lol.....Kyle always had perfect results in all the important exams so he cost us a fortune through school.....worth it though!! Congratulations and well done to your GD on such a wonderful result for her, she has done so well academically and in her sports, she is a star!!
We used to do the money for good grades too. No problem with giving kiddos financial incentive to work hard. We enjoyed paying up.

A few more photos.
Great photos. The guy dressed up as Jack Sparrow looks exactly like a young Johnny Depp.

I’am sitting with little J today. He was up early this morning so we went out and did a little shopping then it was off to the Mall for some play time. He had the whole play area to himself. He had a blast.

He had his favorite lunch today. Kids meal chicken nuggets with fries, apple slices and apple juice. His grandpa bought him fries once and now that is his favorite. We don‘t give him fast food very often except for Ben’s Soft Pretzel once in awhile.

He was a happy camper dipping his fries and chicken nuggets in barbecue sauce. He loves dipping his food. He likes mustard too.

He likes dipping his broccoli, tomatoes and cucumbers in avocado dip. He knows what he likes for sure.

He is down for his nap now. He was pretty sleepy after all the running and playing.

I found my first cucumbers Friday
IMG_5977.jpeg
There is a little tiny one to the left of it. Hopefully the animals won‘t eat them before we get too.

Not much else going on here.

Have a wonderful Monday everyone.

Woot! My September flights just went down 58 dollars. More credit to use for another trip I guess. And now cheapest I’ve seen since pandemic times. Trying to talk little one in joining me then. No movement on hotel or rental. And no movement on all 3 for August. But will keep checking.

Had a nice thunder sounding rain. Only just over a half an inch of rain. Said maybe hail or damaging winds. All I saw was sone flooding on streets, and no hail I saw and not really that windy when was raining. So guess lucky there too.

Well drivers on I95 aren’t. Will have to either go over to NJ or through the city to get around the I95 collapsed bridge. Got 3 messages about that road closure from my work. Sadly, while truck driver passed away, the gas truck he was driving, caught fire that was so hot, bridge part of the road collapsed on one side, and buckled on the other side of the highway. Only good thing, it was around 6 am Sunday morning. So not a lot of traffic at that time. No drivers were caught in the collapse, though reports said one driver just crossed the bridge before it collapsed and saw drivers going in reverse in his rear view mirror, and some drove over the road as it buckled. Thankfully I don’t go that way to get to my city office. Will make traffic horrible for months.

Ooh,
IMG_1651.jpeg

Yep, bedtime for me. Commuting time tomorrow. Sigh. Have a very good night sleep all. Can dream of all those tacos you can eat tomorrow. ::yes:: :rotfl:

Hope you have safe travels and hope all goes great for you Mac. Good thoughts and hugs as you. Hard.

Commute was fast. Though maybe just a little faster but for the huge dump truck that was in the lead on the city road. And only see one or two cars as I go through neighborhoods, but as soon as I got to the red light to turn onto the main drag into the city, at least ten cars passed by me. Always more cars from that point until I park. Not many enter my work, but a few, less on a Tuesday than a Thursday when I come in.

Hmm, Dis is not letting my picture load. I know it’s not too large, as checked it. Oh well, I’ll try posting it later. View from when took a break to see the sky about 10 minutes after sunrise.

Yes, early bird I am, and glad my week day routine lets me start so early. I much prefer starting early, and ending earlier.

And so, hope where Mac is, has a Taco Bell, as it’s that Taco Tuesday this week.

Ah yes, that fast food taco place little one only will eat there if they have those seasoned fries and cheese dip. Which means, a chance lately, but those fries are not an everyday menu item. I kinda agree with her, as there are other places to eat, where she eats a good meal.

But hey, made at home, like we do sometimes, or bought from Taco Bell or another taco place, Cava just opened near us so will have to try it sometime, anyway, hope all enjoy or think of having a taco on this most terrific Taco Tuesday for all.

:wave2:
Busy spell here, have the grand for a few days. they tend to go much faster with her about as she has the day rather fully planned, after we are done running to AM sports camps. probably should check the gas gauge, don’t think my fill from a week up will last two weeks this time.

have a great day all

I blinked and the weekend was over  I don't know where yesterday went either, but it sure felt busy.

We had a great weekend, with dd, gd and then visiting with dh's family. The weather was fantastic - minus the smoke and ash that covered everything. It was a busy weekend - and I was tuckered out by Sunday night.

It's a little cooler today - and it is supposed to rain sometime today. The forecast in our area is calling for quite a bit of rain for the next 2 weeks. I won't turn away any rain.

Royal Caribbean is our favorite cruse line of the moment. have jumped ship on CCL for the most part, due to them having less of the bells & whistles we do enjoy. DCL is 2-1/2 the price of Royal, at least 3 X more than CCL. I am now content to get my disney fix in the parks.
I've been eying up one of their cruises. They look like they would be alot of fun with many things to do. I'm hoping to get dh on board to try one. I went on a carnival one 6 yrs ago with dd...and we enjoyed that. I think dh would enjoy one now.

yahoo!!!!! I hope you talk your little one into joining. The more the merrier! I know I wouldn't have any trouble talking any of my kiddos into a quick get away.

Well, I should find more papers to shuffle around.'

Have a great day everyone!

My view this morning, and after awful traffic, home to relax before I get, what’s for dinner. Tea from my teapot. Yay!

Glad to read Keisha is having fun with GD, and Pumpkin enjoyed a gorgeous weather weekend with family.

Still in Ocala and it’s hot here.
Now I am trying to sell my inherited house and cars

It’s a tad hot here but it’s more fun to be here as a tourist hanging out in the parks.
Will be going back home on Friday and looking forward for that.
I miss my cats and my bed.

And then back to Ocala…

The real fun for me will be September
Real vacation time then.

HHN…woot

Hope all the homies are doing fine!

I hate going back to work after a vacation. I’m still trying to get caught up. I got so frustrated with someone at Anthem today. I should not have to repeat myself several times and try to explain a simple concept several times.

That’s awesome Charade. Hey, every drop in price is always welcome. I doubt mine will go lower, but will keep checking.
I think I now have it the lowest it will go, but I will keep checking too.
Great photos. The guy dressed up as Jack Sparrow looks exactly like a young Johnny Depp.
Thanks. They did a really good job of casting characters for the parks. Some of the Marvel characters were really good too.

He likes dipping his broccoli, tomatoes and cucumbers in avocado dip. He knows what he likes for sure.
That’s awesome. I couldn’t get B to eat like that when she was little. Thankfully she has gotten a little less picky as she got older.

I have been checking my flight almost daily. I think B would join me if I asked, but she really needs to find a job.
Cava just opened near us so will have to try it sometime,
We have one here but I have not tried it yet.

I have been out of touch with reality for a while. Are the fires still burning?

Still in Ocala and it’s hot here.
Now I am trying to sell my inherited house and cars
Hope they sell soon and you are able to get everything resolved.
Will I see you in September?

I should get to bed. Wondering what fun awaits me at work tomorrow.

Yeah. Little one needs to be a full time employee some time this year too, Charade.

Ooh sunny enough start. House feels almost too cool, but glad no humidity. In the summer, there’s a bonus with AC, cool and dry air, when it’s hot and humid.

And today?
IMG_1653.gif

Give a yay, camel’s right. And give a cheer, as because we are that mid week day where we get over it’s feeling like a hump to jump over, and woot, that fabulous Friday feeling will then be one day away. You know, while I’m not in that retirement mode yet, that lazy Friday and holiday Monday, certainly will find me a lady of leisure for that bonus four day weekend. And already decided, since I’m very lucky to have weeks to take leave, decided two weeks from now, bonus five day weekend of lazy. You see, Fourth of July is a Tuesday this year. Hence, if I take Monday lazy, and Friday lazy, boom boom fireworks indeed. Great way to start July. ::yes::

But yes, that back to week day routine after a vacation, or even my bonus weekends, is no fun all. And Charade, I feel ya. Whenever I go back, the same is there for me, and it’s like I never left. And yes, quite the annoying to explaining repeatedly a simple idea.

Hugs to Mac, it’s a lot to do to sell, donate, and toss out. At least the weather has been nice for you. Makes sense you need to go back, and yay, certainly like to meet up in the fog, 👻

And so, back to that hybrid week day routine, and more than happy not to have to do that drive home yesterday, today, and not until next Thursday. City traffic, now even more crazy, with I95 bridge still out. Even though said it’s fast tracked to fix, saying a week to clean it up, then the replacement will take months. Hence, while I did that commuting for more than 30 years, this max hybrid certainly has shown me a better life balance.

Ooh that train whistle is loud and was going for a few good seconds. Was said, more trains to help with the bridge out traffic, and when kids are out of school, the train goes into a summer schedule. Hence notice of schedule change already given. Will have to take a look when we use the local train to connect to the NE corridor one, when we go to NYC for a day next month. Much cheaper, faster, and more relaxing, when I can get that NYC train at a very good price. And I did. Bonus, sister is coming, so girls trip. Yay.

Ooh that laser sounding cardinal must be near. He’s not as loud or as far as the train, but is loud. Ah, early mornings. I so like them.

And so, a wish to all, a most wonderful Wednesday today. And a very good morning too.

I guess we are all busy, Mac.

Waiting for my laptop to reboot. Said it had to, so okay then. Have at it.
