Someone tell me about bus experiences at CBR

We are staying at the CBR the first week of June. I did read about how the bus makes many stops within the resort. Do the bus rides take a very long time then? We have been spoiled by staying at monorail resorts on our last 3 trips. I'm wondering how that will affect our stay.

Thanks,

Anna

We were there in June and were in Jamaca, that bus stop always seemed to be the fisrt one and it didn't seem like it took a long time to get around all of them when we were picked up and it was nice to be the first to be dropped off

Jamaica is the first stop coming and going. We stayed in Jamaica. When the bus first comes, it's empty so you get a seat. When you are arriving back at the CBR after a day at the parks, Jamaica is the first stop so you get off first.
I would say it takes 10 minutes to get through the CBR. The busses come constantly. We NEVER waited more than 10 minutes for a bus and it was usually more around 4-5 minutes. Our daughter would keep saying, "Is THAT our bus?" as we would look at the park name to see if it was the right one going where we wanted. I think the bus system is almost flawless at Disney. I could not have been happier with our bus experiences seven days in a row! Don't panic if you're not in Jamaica. Usually there is plenty of room on the busses.

We stayed at CBR March 2002. We thought the resort was nice and the rooms were pretty but wouldn't stay there again because of the 7 bus stops. It is not Disney's fault and we knew it going in but found it to be a little too much for us. It didn't have an affect on our AWESOME trip but just was an inconvenience. Of course we have 4 kiddos (they were 2,5,7,9) who were really tired after a day at the parks. We stayed at Trinidad North (requested Jamaica or Martinique but was unavailable). We always had a seat going to the parks. It was the coming home and stopping at I think 5 stops before it was our turn that took a long time. I guess we were spoiled with POFQ's 1 bus stop. I hope I don't damper your excitement --that was just our opinion and experience. we didn't regret our decision to stay at CBR and had a great time but would choose a smaller or more compact resort with less bus stops next trip:D .

We will be going to CBR for our 4th time next week. I don't even remember the buses being an issue. Last year to save $ we stayed at one of the Downtown Disney hotels and talk about bad bus service. That was horrible, we NEVER sat down on the bus, morning or night. The Disney buses run so frequently that you almost always get a seat. June may be a little busier, but with a bus every 10-15 mins, you should be fine. Try to request Jamaica though, you'll be the first on and off.

We just got back from CBR and the buses drove us crazy, granted we never waited more than 15 minutes, but often times buses for the same place ie: Epcot, 4 would come in a row. In regards to coming back from the parks, it depends what entrance the bus driver comes in as to when you get dropped off. We stayed in Martinique and sometimes were first or close to last. We ate in several hotels and found that was the worst part of our whole trip was getting to the hotels and coming home having to transfer through downtown disney. Next time we are going to try and swing something on the monorail.

Caribbean Beach has two sides, and two entrances. Depending on the routing assignment of the bus, you may start on the A side or the B side. Currently, the Studios is tinkering with a "C" route.

"A" Route:
Martinique
Old Port Royale
Trinidad North
Trinidad South
Jamaica
Aruba
Barbados

"B" Route:
Jamaica
Aruba
Barbados
Martinique
Old Port Royale
Trinidad North
Trinidad South

"C" Route:
Trinidad South
Jamaica
Aruba
Barbados
Martinique
Old Port Royale
Trinidad North

MOD busses get dispatched from the Studios... to alternating routes... This is why you might see one bus right after another for the same park. Bus 1 started at Jamaica, and bus 2 started at Martinique... but because 2 got dispatched 5 mins later, 1 caught up to 2... so, 1 will be leaving CBR, but 2 still has to make the rest of the rounds. I know it sounds a bit confusing, but it all works out.

Times to the parks... CBR is in a central location... so I wouldn't worry about that at all. The longest trip might be to Animal Kingdom, and that's only because the bus stops at Blizzard Beach as well.

Hello CuteKatCar, looks like we'll be there at the same time. We stayed last summer and the transportation was great. The stops to me seemed quick around the resort.. It was get on the right bus, and then we're off. I say it took 5 maybe 6 minutes to get off the property. Not long at all. It was extremely consistent and because of price, beautiful surrounding, great food, and the transportation, that's why we chose to stay there again. We are going again this summer and I am looking forward to all the new things CBR has to offer.

Chip 'n Dale Express thank you so much for your detailed response!! We are staying at the CBR 1st week in february and I was just about to post a ? of the exact bus routes.

I stayed in Trinidad North, and depending on the park I might get a seat. That was usually 8-8:30 am. Many times I had to stand, which I didn't mind. Next time I go, maybe I'll try for Trinidad. I know returning from the parks I always seemed to be standing, and Trinidad North seemed to be a long time to get to.
