So, we had decided we were still going to take our Florida trip next week after everything. My parents were going to go with us. Then a week ago, my dad, who has had 2 previous back surgeries in the past 18 months, wakes up with a sharp pain in his back. Pain gets worse and worse.
MRI shows 2 more herniated discs higher up than where he had his previous surgeries. (I really don't think he has too many discs left unscathed!) Sooooo, Dr. refers him to a specialist at U of M.
Needless to say, they are not going on the trip now, and who knows about us. He has an appt Tuesday, so we'll see what they say then. But, in the meantime, Mom calls me tonight and wants me and DH to come over and help her get a bedside commode out of the garage for Dad to use. Seems, after a little questioning, that my dad has fallen twice today, once going up the stairs and once getting out of the shower. Apparently having trouble walking as his leg goes numb and gives out.
I tell him I will drive him to U of M tonight (as his doctor said if things get worse, go to ER and bring films with him). Of course, he says no, he'll wait til appt on Tuesday. Grrrr......
You know, I know some people my age have their kids to care for, some have kids and aging parents to watch out for, but dang!!.......kids, aging parents, disabled adult son, AND a depressed (although getting better) husband?
I think someone skipped out of line and I got their extras!!

Anyway, if you could spare some prayers for my dad, I would certainly appreciate it!
