On Marrakesh! DW and I have an ADR for it next week, and I'm starting to second guess myself! We're not "too" adventurous with our eating. And, we're also not too big on spicy food. Are we going to be let down? What should we order? We keep looking at the menu on allearsnet, and we just shrug our shoulders! :confused3 I've heard good things about this resturaunt, though. Someone please help us ease our worries! Thank you!

The food is wonderful and the atmosphere is even better! I have fond memories of my 81 year old dad watching that belly dancer last October ;) ! The food is not a hot spicy kind of taste. There is a lemon chicken that is very bland that was perfect for my daughter. I want to say they use a lot of cinnamon in the food. They have a sampler type dinner that allows you try several different things. We really enjoyed it (my husband actually was a bit disappointed because it wasn't spicy enough). Its one of those things you won't know until you try but I think at the very least you'll enjoy the atmospere enough to make it a fun evening.

the salmon & the couscous is good & not spicy. we love marrakesh, the food is good & the atmosphere is awesome, rock those hips belly dancer! :rotfl:

Thank you for your input! I'm very happy to see the food isn't too overly spicy... Yet spiced "well." Cinnamon I can handle! Only 5 more days until DW and I are back in the world for two weeks! I better start thinking about packing! :goodvibes

It *has* been a while since we've been (couple years now), but we won't go back to Marrakesh. It wasn't "spiced well" - very bland and fairly boring. We can find much better Mediterranean choices here in northern Orlando, as well as better all around choices in Epcot.

I never really recommend it, if we want good atmosphere we do Mexico (even though the food/service doesn't thrill us there, either).

(and yes I'm back  )

OK - you said to sell you. When we went for last year's F&W we had a fabulous time. The restaurant wasn't crowded at all, service was good, and the food was so good we went back in December. LOVED the Chicken Bastilla and Beef Brewat rolls - they are like meat in phyllo dough with cinnamon. I'm making myself hungry! The bread is fabulous - nice and grainy without getting stuck in your teeth. Good salad, and I loved my watermelon drink (non-alcoholic, too). The band sounded fantastic and the belly dancer was great with the kids in the audience-had them up and dancing along. Be sure to check out the copies of letters in the lobby. They are from George Washington to the king of Morocco. They were the first country to recognize the US after the Revolutionary War. Getting back there is fun, too - it's so quiet in the back part of the pavilion that you feel like you've left Disney World behind. I mean, we all love WDW, but the peace and quiet are golden.

Now, that being said, when we went back we had the worst service we have ever had in a Disney restaurant. We rarely complain, but this was so bad that they comped the meal. Empty water glasses the whole meal, couldn't even order a cup of tea because the server never came near kind of bad. Dirty tables and no check for twenty minutes bad. We had to flag down the next server over, who went and got our server, who did not come kind of bad. Ask for the manager and the server brought the "head waiter" kind of bad. Manager finally showed because the neighboring tables were listening in on the list of complaints to Mr. "Head Waiter." I've also heard Marrakesh did get crowded during free dining and that the AC was not functioning correctly. Depends on when you go and which server you get.

Just wanted to give you both sides of the story!

Thank you for your views as well! I think we'll stick through it. Even if the food isn't spiced at all, I think it's better than having the wrong spices. This and Boma will be our two "adventurous" meals while we're down there. The rest of our ADR's are pretty safe: CG, Liberty Tree, Hollywood & Vine, Garden Grill, Ohana's Breakfast! I'm just ready for a good time in the World! 4 Days and counting! :yay:
