Okay - so I just finished The Time Traveler's Wife and I don't get it. Can someone please explain -- In the scene where Henry gets shot in the meadow, he is described as standing behind Clare's father and brother wherehe puts his finger to his lips so she won't say anything. BUT - how could he be standing since THAT Henry had already lost his feet?? Also, does he stay with OLD Claire at the end? How could he?
Thanks for your help!

There was a section in the book where he was actually rooming/living with himself for a time. So Henry actually travels to a time he is in the past or future and there is two of them. So the traveling Henry doesn't replace himself there, he's there in addition to the Henry that is there "in the present."

No, he doesn't get to stay with OLD Claire. :sad1: He just gets to spend a little time with her.

It's really sad. I calculated the years, and Claire spends more years waiting for Henry to show up again one last time, than she ever got to spend with him, during all the years he was alive. I hated the ending. She put her whole life on hold, for that one last time to see him again. :(
