Why if you don't want your DISigns used you put them in a public viewing account? I got a pm from someone asking me to remove something from my photobucket account...if you notice I also said that not everything in my photobucket is mine...I'm not being snotty but I don't understand why this is a big deal? Is it cause I have it under blanks and not "so and so's disigns" I honestly can't remember who some of the DISigns are from so if I offended you I'm sorry...I'm deleting the DISign from my account but still I understand we all put time and effert into the disigns and I thank everyone but if you don't want them used then you should either state so or make your account private jmo...I was trying to be nice by sharing my photobucket account but apparently I've offended someone

It's my guess that the disigner does not like that you are using their disign in your account where others will just assume that you were the original designer. At least that is what I am getting from what you stated.

OK, I'm sooooo not flaming you in what I'm about to say, so if it comes off that way, please know I'm trying to help you see why they might have had a problem with it and not trying to be mean.

I think it's the idea that if I go to someone's photobucket, like mine for instance, if I see that it's their "DISign" photobucket, I expect it to be their designs. I have an album in my photobucket called "Not Mine But for Shirts" that I draw attention to both in the title and my "Read Please" post on the main page of my account to show that they are not my designs but things I used from other people. It's just giving credit where credit is due I guess. Like you said in your post, you know how long it takes to make a design... IMHO it's how it's represented -- there should be no guessing whether or not the design is actually your design.

Yes, people post their designs and photobuckets on here so people can use their designs. I even post blanks so when I'm swamped people who can will be able to personalize some themselves if they wish. That doesn't mean "use my design and make people think it's your design." I do NOT think that's at ALL what you meant to do or are doing. I can see how you would save designs you like to your photobucket without really thinking on that.

Take a deep breath. Smile. You did the right thing by honoring the request to remove the image. I think designers on the boards right now are a little sensitive bc of the people who have taken designs, changed a word or name, and then said it was their design. Again, not what I think you meant to do.

So much love and pixie dust coming your way! Perhaps organize your photobucket a little differently? Clearly label an album for designs that you like but are not your own?

I didn't make the post to start anything I just did it to try and understand what I did wrong so as to not offend anyone else...I've already deleted the DISign and perhaps I should change my photobucket account name I also didn't bring your name into it cause I didn't wanna cause more drama LOL... Anywho I truly am sorry and if anyone else wants anything deleted please let me know I truly don't want to cause any hard feelings or hurt toward anyone

I know I have asked people to remove my designs from their photobucket account if it is public. I have an photobucket account and it has a password that I only give out to fellow diser's. The reason that I have asked others to remove it is because those accounts are public and people (not diser's) have been known to go to public accounts and take designs and sell them. I enjoy making the designs for free to fellow diser's and would hate for them to be sold. Maybe that is why they asked you to remove them. I don't ask to offend people and I do post blanks that others can personalize.

Well at least we can all discuss this like adults without name calling and all that...maybe by people reading this thread they will undestand what is ok and not ok to do....thanks for the explanations I truly did not mean to offend anyone...I'm in the midst of renaming my folders so as to not offend anyone else and like I said if anyone else sees something that is theirs and wants it deleted please let me know

Glad I could help. I'm always worried about how I'll come of in the written word. It can seem so much harsher than when I'm talking to someone face to face. Love the smiley faces to help though! The variety of emoticons on the boards is phenomenal!

Yeah I don't get upset too easily I was more worried about hurting someone else feelings...it's all over now at least I know now the no no's I have fixed my photobucket and now I have "other disers disigns" folder...
