"Someone left their inside b*** on the toilet!" July-Aug 2014 Done 3/03/2015

Love your SM picture!

That always stinks when you loose someone and have to spend time looking for them. I'm glad to hear Q was just on the other side and not in First Aid. Yay for the free pretzel as you waited. :)

Love all of the pictures around Fantasyland, especially the Tangled area. :)

Hmmm, it appears K didn't get the Space Mountain ride photo memo.

I might have to try that "Magic Band doesn't work" scam next trip for some free food. :p

"We settled on Pirates." Just for the record, there is no such thing as just "settling" for Pirates.

Finally caught up here. I have been reading off and on for a few days but I just haven't been able to catch all the way back up.

I am loving all your tours of the resorts. Busch Gardens looked very fun.
I am with you on CoP. I have heard CM's tell you know pictures and then sometimes they just say no flash photography. I have taken a few on it as well then.

I really enjoyed Busch! It was my first time and it was fun. Far from Disney though.

I am glad someone else said they'd heard CMs say no photography! I was beginning to feel like I was hearing things!

Hee hee! Free cream cheese pretzel, yep! It totally made up for losing Q! LOL

Hee hee hee! We had talked about what to do for the picture, but then P said she wouldn't be able to do anything but hold on, so I guess K thought the ideas were scrapped.

And that was no scam! I would NOT scam anyone... let alone Disney. I would never want to risk getting banned! ;)

I totally agree, I know I didn't "settle"! LOL

Finally catching up again! I love all your pictures of Busch, one day I hope we can take a longer than 7 days trip to Florida and see some of the other parks! I love coasters and desperately wanna ride Manta!

POR oh my oh my so so so pretty! I love all your All Star photos too, I wish they didn't share buses and I'd be all about staying there sometime!

I've never had a cream cheese pretzel but it sounds and looks delicious! I'll have to get one next time!

Just make sure to go to Sea World for Manta! ;) I do enjoy the other parks, but I love Disney best. I will say (and you'll see more when I get to it!) that I LOVE the Harry Potter sections at Universal. The rest of the parks are nice, but the Harry Potter areas are just over the top AMAZING.

We didn't often share the with the other resorts, if that helps. Sometimes we did, and sometimes we didn't. And it seemed some parks had separate bus stops almost always. Of course, being at Sports you're the first on and the first off, so that is good too. For my next trip, I'm booked at Pop, but we're thinking of switching to Music since my friend hasn't stayed there before. Who knows!

That cream cheese pretzel is well worth the calories! They have it at Epcot and MK as far as I know.

Here are a few the others took on their way in to MK.

We had just hopped in line for Pirates. The wait time said something like 20 minutes, but it seemed to take a lot longer.

We played with our cameras as we waited, and we took pictures of the same types things sometimes to see the differences in what we got. I'd really like to go to WDW with some of my photographer friends, just to do that! The photography is such a fun part of my trip.

I gave my camera to P, left the same settings and told her to remember the dot telling her where it is focusing, and made sure she put the strap around her neck. She had fun snapping with my camera.

They used the flash.

P did not.

Yes, there are more queue photos in Flickr. Both from the royal camera and mine.

Onto the ride itself, we were crammed into a very full boat. It's not often I feel crammed in like that. Each row was full and we were in one row. I told K to go in first, since he had their camera, then Q went in, and I asked P if she wanted the end and to take pictures or not. She chose to give me back my camera (I think! Hee hee) and sit beside her mother. I was on one end with one camera (like I said, I think) and K was on the other end. He didn't bother taking pictures though, even though I tried to adjust his settings, he figured he wouldn't bother as they'd be getting copies of mine anyways.

20 minutes for Pirates. Thanks FP+!! I know it would occasionally get to that pre-FP, but it was rare.

Wow Tina, your Pirates pictures are fab. And on into my favourite dump shop in Disney. pirate:

I love looking at all of your pictures. They are amazing! I have a DSLR but my pictures don't look like that. I've never really invested in different lenses, so I'm not sure if it's just the extent of quality I am going to get from the kit lens, or that I need to learn more settings. Anyway, great photos!

The problem was that 20 minute wait turned into 40 minutes!!! Horrible, and ONLY because of FP+. And thanks, I totally love taking pictures on Pirates. :) The dump shot is a lot of fun too.

Great pictures! The ones inside Pirates are great!!

Thanks!

Thanks! If you want to talk photography, ask away! The kit lens likely won't work on a dark ride, but it should be ok for outside, depending on what you are looking for. What mode do you shoot in?

We walked out of Pirates and headed towards BTMRR because we had a FP for it. Then it started to rain, and within seconds we all had our ponchos on! We decided to head out because we had an ADR to make. We didn't go back to the resort, we would just take the bus from MK.

I have books on photography that I should spend more time reading, but sometimes it is too much to take in. I really should practice. I tend to change the aperture, or shutter speed. I also use sports mode, having kids. I don't use auto, and I don't use manual, because putting it all together just seems too overwhelming. I find myself mostly using aperture f9.0? I will switch to changing shutter speed if I find my pictures are too dark or blurry. I know enough basics to not shoot in auto, but maybe I'd be better off! Also, I always use auto focus. I do think in Disney I found I had to use manual focus for some things.

Your photos just look so crystal clear! Maybe instead of reading trip reports, I should be reading about photography to get ready for my next trip!

I want awesome pictures, but then I don't want to invest in a lot of lenses and have to carry them around. Only lens I have bought is a Canon 55-250mm zoom lens.

I wear glasses, so I struggle with manual focus. I always use auto focus. I am 99% of the time using aperture priority, changing it as I like. For POTC I used my 30 mm 1.4 lens and I set it at 1.4. I think I might have said to go a little darker too. I do have a few lenses, though. I don't have a kit lens, I have a 30 mm f/1.4, 70-200 mm f/4, a slow 10-20mm, and a big 17-55 f/2.8. Lenses do make a difference. The 17-55 is known to be very sharp. I really wish (totally dreaming) that someone would make a CHEAP, light, easy to use camera that could zoom from 10-1000mm and have a steady 1.2 aperture etc. As if, LOL!

I sat on the bus next to a couple who not only knew where PEI was, but had BEEN there! They were from somewhere in the US, but I can't remember where. (SORRY lovely woman I was speaking with!)

It was raining again when we arrived, so I started with pictures inside the Yacht Club. K had his camera out though.

Thanks! The kit lens is 18-55 f/3.5-5.6. I'm considering a 50mm f/1.8, but I should probably learn more about it. I like the price better than most! I'm not sure how much I would be able to use a 50mm lens in the parks. Would I use it more on dark rides and inside, or all around the park? The biggest adjustment would probably be no zoom.

Thanks for your help, and for inspiring me to step up my photography.

I've had the kit lens before, and I used to have the 50mm. It is a good start for the dark rides, but you need to work on making sure you focus where you want it as it will make the background blurry (like my 30mm). You can't zoom, but it is useful. I found the biggest issue is that you can't zoom OUT either. I went to WDW in 2009 for only 3 days, and no parks. I took my camera (a Canon XT at the time) and only that 50 mm lens. It's cheap, and fun to try to play with. You'll notice inside it's fun because you can shoot in darker light than with the kit. But you can't zoom in or out.

Here are a few I took on that trip:

IMG_6468 by disneyfreak0306, on Flickr

IMG_6466 by disneyfreak0306, on Flickr

This was before I shot in raw and I had just learned how to adjust the aperture not too long before that.

For comparison, I had a little point and shoot with me too. With my 50 mm I got this one.

IMG_6420 by disneyfreak0306, on Flickr

And was able to get this with the P&S.

J (40) by disneyfreak0306, on Flickr

I would have had to have walked quite a bit backwards (thus adding many people into the shot) to get the same shot with the 50mm. That's why it's handy on the dark rides, right? No one will be walking in front of you!

I have to admit to getting just a little excited whenever someone actually knows where any of the Atlantic provinces are. It's surprisingly rare.

Haha, the globe even has what appears to be Sable Island, yet no PEI. Strange.

Ah Beaches & Cream. I still have to partake.
