Many of you already know the beautiful piece of artwork hanging high above in the atrium of the Magic and Wonder was done by artist Dale Chihuly. For those that don't here is a link to describe some of his work.

We were recently staying at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and his work there in the lobby very much reminded me of the Magic.....my hubby was laughing at me when I said I had to take pictures to show the DIS'ers....I know many of you will appreciate the pictures and also remind you of when you walk on the Magic and look toward the ceiling!!!

Absolutely beautiful!! It looks like the ceiling is in full bloom. Thanks for sharing the pics, MJ :)

Thanks for sharing!

I love this artwork!

Absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for posting the pics. Us DISrs appreciate it! :)

Thanks, I too love his work. I go see it whenever I get a chance. He had an exhibit here in Dayton, Ohio which was absolutely gorgeous. And, I also drug my husband to the Bellagio in Vegas to see it there.

Now I am trying to get him to Columbus, he has a garden exhibit at the Conservatory. Wish me luck.

There is going to be an exhibit of his work at the Orlando Museum of Art Jan 18-May 30? It is also in St. Petersburg. Good way to kill that layover after the cruise & before your flight.

DH and I have seen the Chilhuly exhibit at the Franklin Park Conservatory in Columbus Ohio. The exhibit extends until March 21, 2004. It's wonderful!

our wedding was at the bellagio, and i had our photgrapher take pixs of his display in the lobby. when i watched the travel channel dcl special a few weeks ago, i was soooo excited to see more when we board the magic in 2 weeks!i had no idea. our chicago park district had a display called "chihuly in the park"that ran spring-summer. its supposed to move to other cities this summer. i wondre how to find out where?

Thanks for putting your post up and the pictures -- I am always surprised at how many people do not know who he is!!

For those of you interested in glass blowing you can always go to the Muesum of Glass in Tacoma. http://www.museumofglass.org/

It is quite an impressive museum and has a working hot shop. There is also the bridge of glass that is part of the muesum, they are both extremely beautifful. There is information on this at Chihuly's website www.chihuly.com.

Hi bobbiwoz,

I'm from Columbus. We got tickets to go see the display. We're just waiting for the opportunity. It looks beautiful from what has been advertised.

waaaaaaay long time ago, before the dinosaurs roamed and I was just a child bride, we received a piece of art glass for a wedding present. It was signed DC, and came from Tacoma friends. It did not fit my style and it was put away. Last summer when we packed up to maove after 30 years, I found it. Still doesn't appeal to me, but I sure put it away in a much safer place now that I am older and wiser and know what I have.

bumped up because I added two more pic links to the original post!

hi musicgirl, you'll love the exhibit. I think that because the work is displayed with the plants they look like wonderful flowers and that adds to the experience. There are marvelous desert scenes as well as ones with lush greenery. When we were there there was also a model railroad exhibit depicting various eras and scenes from Ohio history, we're not native Ohioans and liked the history lesson.

Thanks for the pictures mmouse37!

Chihuly is one of my favorite artists. I was thrilled to see his work on the Wonder - as I hadn't known about that prior to the trip. If any of you are cruising...there are several of his works in the casino at Atlantis!
