Will you guys please give me some reviews of Boma? I have an ADR for June, and my husband and I think it sounds good, but I have some really picky eaters! 3 kids, 2 of which would live on chicken nuggets and fries if I would let them! I will be paying OOP for this meal, so I wonder if it is worth it? Thanks!

I think this is one of the most often asked questions - I know I certainly asked this very question when contemplating our adr's last year - I knew dh would love it, and I felt dd would love getting a peek at AKL (as would I!) But I am a pickey eater, and dd is worse!

WE LOVED IT!!

1st have no fear - the kids buffet is standard fare - the have simple fruits etc...

notice dd plate - french fries and fruit - and of course a salad!

Now this is the most photographed item - the hummus - and it was delicious!

I forgot to upload the soups - dh had 2nds on all the soups! They were outstanding!

I do love my prime rib rare - but they had other cuts, and other meats, as well as seafood

the side dish others will remember it better than I do - but it was kinda sweet - definately worth it - bobita?

and lastly desserts - DD was appalled with the warning signs by the dessets "May contain alcohol" so she refused to eat them - the zebra domes get rave reviews - and I didnt taste any alcohol - but I'm not sure how much or what is in the zebra domes...

also, we had read the breakfast they have a special fruit juice, so when our cm asked what we wanted to drink - we mentioned "breakfast juice" he knew what we wanted adn brought it - and it was delicious!

My friend is extremely picky and I think we went up several times for food. There is a childs area so no worries. The best thing about a buffet is if you don't like it you can gor for something else. There really isn't anything unusual. I personally did not like the desserts but I never do at buffets. I would go for dinner. Breakfast is basic fare.

This is one of my favorites. I was just compiling my ADR wish list for our GG trip in August and my very picky eater came over to make sure that Boma was on the chart.;)

I think they will find things they like. There is a childrens section with chicken fingers, fries, pasta and meatballs. My son loved the rotissere type chicken, the peanut butter rice, the fresh fruit. There are alot of choices at this place.

Boma is one of our can't miss restaurants. We love it. And we have a dd who is so picky...so we don't really worry about it because all she will eat is chicken nuggets, mac & cheese & hot dogs!

I went with a picky picky eater and she doesn't like meat on the bone, no meat that isn't well done, most vegetables are a no-no...but she found plenty to eat. Especially off of the kid's section. I say go for it...you never know until you try it.

Sandy, it's called Boboti and it is delicious. If you happen to buy one of the Disney cookbooks, the recipe is in it and turns out great. Love this restaurant, always must visit each trip to DW!

All of the above posters are correct...there are plenty of choices at Boma. Some of the dishes are exotic and delicious.

Yes, there is a childrens section for picky eaters to find basic fare. My only issue is that if one of those picky eaters is over 9, then I am paying close to $30 for their chicken fingers and mac & cheese.

Still, I love Boma and would not miss.

DS16 is a very limited eater and Boma is a must-do on every trip since we stayed at AKL when he was 12. We all LOVE it!

Hubby was a bit concerned when I made this ADR for our Nov. '07 trip. He didn't know if he'd like it, but he was pleasantly surprised and still mentions it as one of this top choices from that trip.

And everytime I tell him that someone here says how they won't go because they are picky eaters or someone in the family is a picky eater, he has a comment to make because there is just so much to choose from and it's not all "exotic" food.

I'm thankful that I grew up having to try everything that was put in front of us. I can't even imagine only eating nuggets and fries. There were things I didn't like, but I tried them. And I think that has allowed me to experience some of the most wonderful foods in the world because I was willing to try them.

Maybe we went on a BAD night, but I don't get the "LOVE" Boma seems to always receive. My husband will never eat there again, he hated it. My 4 children, 2 very picky, the chichen looked awful so they wouldn't even put it in their mouths. The desserts, not for kids. I am pretty easy to please with food and I really didn't care for it. A lot of $$$. Much better, O'hana!!

Boma = ♥

Our favorite restaurant at Disney! Even my DD9 has chosen Boma as her favorite for the past 2 years. Thankfully, she is not a picky eater, as we've made sure to demand plenty of variety in her diet from the start.

Not only do we get the chance to visit and experience the incredible Animal Kingdom Lodge, but we get to sample the wonderful tastes of Africa. There are so many interesting choices...all dishes are always tasty and fresh. We especially love sampling the soups! I don't consider the dishes to be spicy...at least not in a 'hot' spicy way. More that they use everyday spices in a different way than typical American fare. Don't be afraid of Boma!! ;)
