Some threads are just too darn funny, especially when they get off track

Do you ever find yourself reading a thread that gets so far off track that when someone posts a 'real' answer, it seems totally out of place?

The OP will ask a question and several people will reply, then somehow the thread takes on a whole different life and responses have nothing to do with the original question. Every so often someone will post a relevant reply, but it really seems out of place because you've just spent fifteen minutes reading other posters funny banter.

I always wonder if the person posting with the serious answer is aware of the other banter going on.

Does any of that make any sense?!?!

Seriously, tho, it's funny because the real answer is the one that seems incongruous instead of the other way around.
