I am back from a stay at VWL, the Wonder 3-day cruise and one night at SSR, from 1/2-1/9. Just some thoughts. We spent 3 nights at in a VWL 1 bedroom. This our home and favorite resort by far. It is just so relaxing, we love it. I enjoy going down and walking the trails and riding bikes on them. It is a great feeling enjoying yourself at WDW and not needing to step into a park. I watched all the great football while I was down there. I am a Notre Dame and Penn St fan and was suprised by how many otheres there were.
On 1/5 we enjoyed our first cruise together, that was great. I will post those details over on the cruise board.
Then we spent our last night after the cruise in a SSR 1-bedroom. Beautiful room. We really like the resort. I think it has gotten a bum rap. It is so pretty to look at. We enjoy walking around, so the size of the resort does not bother us, nor does the distance of some rooms from the elevator in BWV
We had a perfect view of DD. The only thing I was upset about was the fact that I had a perfect room to view the PI fireworks, and they don't do them anymore. I was soooo
Apparently the last show was on New Years Eve. Oh well. BTW, try Raglin Road for a great pub experience. We sat next to this elder Irish gent who lives 30 mi from WDW, yet he goes there about 3-4 times a week because he loves the bar. He looks off the boat and he will be drinking a Guiness. Tell him his friends from Indianapolis said hi.
We arrived Marathon Sunday around 9am. It could have been a disaster. Since we stayed at DD area, we escaped that traffic. I would avoid all other parts of WDW this particular morning. The traffic was a nightmare.
Rumor mill fodder last. We did the open house tour to check out a GV at SSR. One of the reps there said SSR should be completed by years end or early 2007. Sales of that resort should be done by the end of 2007. I asked the million dollar "what's next?" question. He said speculation was on Contemporary and ...AKL. Of course, he followed that up with that is just rumor and he really can't say anything because that speculation cannot be used to influence sales and get someone to buy with the hopes that a new resort is built when it may not be.
I know that it is not really new info, but I thought it would be fun to kick around.
