They aren't really about the college program in itself so I didn't feel it fitting to put them in the college program questions thread.

1. Is there a planned parenthood or something around there because I'm on the depoprovera shot and wondering where I can get that while i'm down there.

2. Is there a wells fargo down there? My bank is wells fargo and I don't really want to change because if for some reason I ran out of money, it would be very easy for my dad to transfer money over from one of my other accounts (that i don't have access to because I'm horrible at saving money, i'm hoping to learn this while i'm down there. lol)

3. Also, i doddle in world of warcraft and i'm bringing my desktop computer so i can still play. i heard that the high speed internet that is available is comparable to dial-up and you also have to pay extra for the bandwith when gaming. Is there a cheap cable hook-up that i can get down there?

Thanks guys!

Im sorry I dont have answers for you but, I am also curious about a health center because I am also on the Depo. I was just planning on making a round trip back to MA, go to my doctor and head back to Disney at night. I just got my recent shot a few days ago so i'll be all set for 3 months and have plenty of time to make an appointment and everything.

and I want to say you probably wont have time to play WoW while down there xD You'll be working/going to the parks alot.

can't help ya on the PP thing, but I know a thing or two about gaming and banking.

Wells Fargo doesn't have any branches down here, but that doesn't mean you can't open a bank account at Partner's FCU and still have your bank at home. If your dad needs to give you money, you can still access it via your debit card and your paychecks can go into the Partner's account. That way if relatives send you money, specifically checks, you can go put them in a bank account.

As for gaming, it's possible to play WoW on the internet they provide. For a fee, you can upgrade to a faster connection(I think 1.5mbps is the fastest they let you go) and you can also get a public IP address. Doing so will mean you are not restricted by their firewalls(downloading patches might be a problem if behind their firewalls) but it also opens up your roomates to being able to download from P2P programs, so make sure you watch that.

For scheduling, I disagree with the PP. Yes you will want to spend time in the parks and you'll be working, but if you get home at 11pm, what are you supposed to do all night? the parks are generally closed by then. I used to come home from work, work out, relax in the pool, then play wow and go to bed. aahhh to have those days again.

hope that helps.

If i could get a cheap cable internet hook up for like $30 a month I would do it. It would make it easier and be less of a hassle. I did find out that there are wells fargo ATM's all over the place, not in disney but right outside and by the walmart and stuff. So i could still direct deposit my paychecks into the account. I just wouldn't be able to go to a branch and take money out, i'd just do it from the ATM's.

I still don't know about the depo shot so if anyone has any information about that i'd greatly appreciate it!!!

hhmm I double checked. I guess there are branches around here. Idk why I thought there weren't. The closest one is Hunters creek. At that rate you may as well take it out of any ATM and pay the fee. It's less than the cost of gas to drive to a WF ATM

edit: you can't have your own cable hookup, you have ot use what they provide you, but if memory serves, the upgraded speed/IP package is about 30/month paid in 3 month increments.

I read a post where some girls hooked up cable internet from their apartment. They said that someone said it wasn't possible but they did it. They got Time Warner cable. The time warner guys came and hooked it for them and there wasn't a problem. If there is cable television, you can hook up cable internet.

Doesn't planned parenthood have a website and you can look up their different locations on it?

Why don't you do that?

I would normally do it for you, but I'm not on my own computer, and I don't want someone getting weird ideas from the browsing history.

ouch. this is the closest one. 726 South Tampa Ave
Orlando, FL 32805. its 12.97 miles from "lake buena vista"

Looks like the closest one is about 10 miles away.

Something to keep in mind, when I moved away from home to college, my prescription didn't transfer between Planned Parenthoods. So I needed to fill out new paperwork, make an appointment for a new prescription, and they needed to call my home clinic to get a copy of my file. Just something to keep in mind the first time you go in :)

Disney has the living well center, located in the cast parking lot of epcot. While you might not be on the disney insurance, you can still utilize the facilities, and they offer meds discounted over what you can get elsewhere. Just a thought to check them out before driving all over orlando.

There's a wells fargo branch at the LOOP. It's a shopping plaza on John Young and Osceola Pkwy. It's only like 20 mins away from the CP housing, just take the 417 (1.00$ toll).

And I have no idea about the bandwidth there.. never lived in CP housing.

Hope that helps.

Sorta kinda. If you take 535 (the main road each housing is off of), down to 192, make a right and it's about a mile down the road on the left. I would say 5-6 miles away. Don't know of any locations north of Disney property though.

Thats a lot closer than the SAMs I have here at home. Its 45 mins away. But I go to school in the same town. So before class sometimes I'll leave my house way early and do some shopping. :-)

I was wondering the rule in CP housing on candles and plants. Im sure there will be no candles allowed...but I would really like to bring my plant.

No candles allowed.

And if you're flying, I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to bring plants on the plane.

Minor correction ... to get to Sams Club, take 535 to 192, make a LEFT, and then the Sams is about a mile down the road on the left.

North of property, there's a BJs near the Mall at Millennia, and a Sams Club on Colonial Rd (50) just a bit west of Hiawassee
