We had 10 nights of the dining plan so we had a lot of food during our stay!!
My favorite-Kona Cafe! From start to finish a wonderful meal and great service!

Dh favorite-Boma! He could have eaten the soups for days! I loved the banana bread pudding.

Kids (girls 6 and 8)-Favorite meal was Garden Grill. The characters were fun and came around several times with silly interaction with a great searver Shawn!! The food was really good and the desserts were top notch. Actually a big thumbs up from the whole family.

Best CS was Tusker House and Tangerine Cafe. The rest were all good, just not great. Good tuna at Columbia Harbour House.

Character meals
Chef Mickey's- Good food and good entertainment

1990 Park Fare- The character interaction was dull but the food was really good. The service was lacking, but not awful.

Crystal Palace breakfast (oop)-Food was outstanding, characters were very slow to come around. My mistake was I should have booked this as a lunch. I wanted to be in the park at rope drop and thought with our 8:05 meal I could enjoy my meal, see the characters, and be out quick. Well, at 8:50 Pooh was still on the other side and Piglet had just arrived in the middle area and we were trying to pay the bill but, our server had gone MIA. We were in the front of the line to see Piglet and we found Pooh in the center got the autograph and picture and were on our way by 8:55. I did get scolded by a CM for "stealing Pooh", but I smiled said we waited 50 minutes for him and left. He did tell me to allow 90 minutes for any character meal. Except my attention span for any resturant hits the fan at just over an hour. As I said, the food was terrific but I really didn't enjoy b/c I was in such a hurry.

Donalds Breakfast...(opp) I only booked this to get into AK in front of the crowds. I loved the speed of the characters, very organized and they tell you exactly when to expect all the characters. It was very fun and the service was great. I found the food to be very basic. I can't believe this meal cost the same as CP, there is no comparsion between the quality. But overall despite the fact that we had seen all these characters at our other meals, we enjoyed it. (I didn't expect Donald to be at CM but he was) We raced out to get to EE, and it wasn't running. Don't book this breakfast just to get to EE faster!! We would have been first in Dinoland if we knew EE was not opening!

We had good meals here:
Les Chefs de France-yummy, loud, and slow service.

Biergarten-The food was okay, not many choices for the kiddos (baked chicken), desserts were okay. The highlight was the dinner show. We all really enjoyed the music! Without the show this would have been a disappointment.

Tony's and Mama Melrose
Good food, okay service. We liked both but nothing to get overly excited about.

Sci Fi for lunch- The food was fine. Dh got a steak sandwich that he said was excellent, my burger was okay but dry. They let me get a shake as my drink. The shakes at WCC were much better! It was a neat place and dh and I had a "quiet" meal together as the the kids were in the front seat watching the movies!!

WCC for lunch (oop) I had the aboved mentioned milkshake, which was awesome and yummy nachos. We really had a great time here. We all enjoyed the food and entertainment from the servers. The humor was very natural and not scripted. I think lunch is a great choice here. They don't do the ketchup at lunch, which left room for general silliness!

Any questions fire away!

Welcome back! Sounds like you had a great trip. I would love to do 10 days :) . What meal did you go to Chef Mickeys for? We have a dinner ADR and have never been there for dinner. How was Tony's? We also have an ADR there and have heard some very mixed things about it. Thanks a bunch.

CM was dinner. We really enjoyed it! The food is good and the sevice was fine. I think this is a great way to start a vacation!

Our meal at Tony's was also very good. I had the chicken parm. which was much better than Mama Melrose. The kids had great desserts. They also loved all the Lady and the Tramp stuff. We got their "stamps". Service started great and went downhill towards desserts.

We basically had good food everywhere. Most places we found the service to be slow, but not awful. It seemed to start good and then we would be forgotten. We tipped one server extra at Garden Grill b/c he went above and beyond!!

Can't wait to go to KONA - GIVE ME DETAILS - what did you order??

I had the Kona Salad, steak, and the lava cake for dessert!! Dh had mahi mahi and creme brulee. All yummy!! We also smoothies included with the dining plan.
