Some questions about Kona

Our family went there last October. DH had the shrimp/scallops and said it was just ok. DD and I shared the teriyaki steak and the BBQ pork chop. The steak was good but the BBQ pork chop was divine!! We had the sticky wings for an ppie. They were good but not exactly like the Ohana ones. We like the Ohana ones better.

my DH got the Tuna and thought it was amazing!!!! I am not a seafood person but I had a bite and thought it was very good. NOT fishy at all. I ordered the coconut almond crusted chicken and thought it was very tasty as well. We ordered sushi for app. and got the shrimp tempra with mango in it. It was very good!!! Overall we really enjoyed it there (maybe even more than ohauna)

OMG - the sticky wings are to DIE for! Best thing I've eaten on property aside from the Le Cellier filet. If we ever go back to Kona, I'm getting those as an appetizer.

We were there last month and had dinner at Kona twice. I'll echo others - the sticky wings are fantastic! Hard not to fill up on those before you get your dinner. I had the pan asian noodles both times, and it was tasty without being excessively spicy. My fiance had the pork chop (and I had a taste), and it was delicious. Don't forget to top it off with the Kilauea torte! That's like chocolate heaven.

DH thinks the New York steak is the best and I vote for the ribeye. It was better than LeCellier which was very good. We didn't have any appetizers but had the Kona Kone which was as much fun as it was good. However, it is an icecream cone. But, it was fun laughing at it while taking pictures. I love ice cream so I think it was great.

We do Kona every trip. I always get the sticky wings and the noodle bowl. Mmmmm.... just make sure to leave room for dessert!! Try the Kilauea Torte!!!

Yummy!!! I have Kona reservations in 15 days! I can't wait it will be our first time. Thanks for all the great suggestions. I am thinking crab cakes and tuna oscar!

Some of my favorites at Kona are:

The Sticky Wings
The Crab Cakes
The Shrimp Tempura Roll (rice paper sushi with shrimp tempura, mango and an orange dipping sauce)
The Volcano Roll (nori wrapped sushi with tuna, pickled vegetables, spicy mayo, baby shrimp and tempura crunch)
The Shrimp & Scallop entree

All of these are light and very tasty!
