I spent a few hours at WDW last weekend and tried my hand at some "landscape" tupe photography. This is not my forte, but I think I got a few decent shots:

I liked this one--sunset over the YC:

I like the waterfall one the best.

When I look at your photos of bands, there's always a lot of action and motion in them, and that's what I see in the waterfall too. The other ones are gorgeous, but don't seem "you."

If that makes any sense.

They are all great. I especially like the door - don't ask me why! I just do!

Thanks, and it makes perfect sense. I just don't have the talent to capture emotion in "landscapes." It's just not my thang I guess...

I'm at my best when there's a mosh pit raging behind me, someone having a protien spill a dozen feet away, two crowd surfers at 7:00 o'clock, and a singer dripping with sweat hanging over my head trying to incite a riot. Sometimes the "action and motion" is split pretty evenly between the band on stage and me trying to get the heck out of Dodge and shooting as I go. :rotfl2:

Where is that gate that says "Echo Lake Apts"?

WOW! You took the words right out of my ?"fingers"?!!! I was wondering the same thing ... I thought I had a picture of EVERYTHING in WDW ... guess NOT!!! :confused3

The gate is at the studios - I think to the right of 50's prime time. It is definately on that "wall" with Hollywood and Vine, 50's Prime Time and the IJ store.

I really like all the photos. I like the waterfall too but I really like both the HTH and the Studios shots. You capture things really well in weird lighting situations!

I was just on twopeasinabucket trying to get some ideas and looking at this very cool layout of the MK and Epcot (http://www.twopeasinabucket.com/pg.asp?gallery=1&cmd=display&layout_id=852917&show=2) when I get to the signature, and I'm thinking "that name looks familiar." :teeth: It's a small world after all!

p.s. I hope you don't mind my posting that link!

I really like your pics Anne~

Nice depth of color, unique perspective, plenty of emotion in all of them :) seriously. Landscapes are a quiet emotion...if people can connect with a picture you did of a doorway, you done good.

I've practiced in the "band" field and I feature alot of nature...all genres take practice~

Hi Anne,
I like the waterfal also

the flower stand has very soothing DOF

The panda seems to be getting up to come after me
but has some tough shadows to manage with the available light

The sunset has some realy great color in the water! But there is so much dark building and sky that it is overpowered in the scene. I also keep looking at the spires (which are not doing anything) and wondering why one is so crooked. Maybe a vertical crop leaving those out and accenting the best parts.

Talk about your "off the beaten path" places in MGM. I don't ever remember seeing that but I know Echo lake is near Prime Time 50's cafe.

Beautiful pictures, Anne. All of them, I really like them. Those are the kind I like to take too, simple scenes that say something. Each of them stands on their own. :thumbsup2

:thumbsup2 Great shots!! Any advice on night shots with a Canon Rebel EOS xs.I'D appreciate it! :rolleyes1

The Hollywood Tower Hotel pic got a reverse reflection-like thingie. Why is that? I'm curious.

I know. I have no idea how that happened. I have only one possible thought--that the image reflected off the UV filter onto the lens so I captured both the image and reflection. It was bizarre, I've never had that happen before.

Next time I might try using a polarizing filter and see if that makes a difference...

I usually see these things happen when the light source falls at approx 45 degrees to the centre axis of a video cam (I also co-produce corporate videos, this is where I usually find this anomaly), but never seen it with a dSLR or anything else but video camera (and the absolute worst is Panavision lenses, you can see this anomaly in thousands of movies/TV series shot with Panavision)

Nice pics all of them. Each one captures the scene and has a feel to it not flat. The lighting in each one is a challenge. You got me on the Echo apts. too :lmao:

I used to do celeb pics in my last life (pre kids :rotfl: ). It's weird switching over but I enjoy it now probably more. There's a lot less pressure. Just a different style which you obviously have.

We were in the world last week also. I remember seeing a woman with a great camera & nice lense over at MGM taking pics. I had to cross in front of her (with my deepest apologies) to get this shot of DS who is almost impossible to get a pic of. This car was the only reason he agreed to it and I had to take it in a flash. Were you at MGM taking pics around this car by any chance?
