OP is absolutely right. It's only natural to feel "cheated" (or at least like your business is not appreciated) when you've been giving a company a good-sized chunk o' change a couple of times a year for several years, you book yet another vacation with them, and then you discover that the folks going to the
same place at the
same time as you are getting a deal for significantly less - and you didn't even have a shot at it.
In this economy I simply cannot afford to be extravagant. I'm a coupon-clippin, sale-shoppin, go-without-it-unless-I-need-it, save-for-more-rainy-days kind of person (just like a lot of us are). I can't dip into college or retirement savings to pay for a vacation.
It's not that I'm not happy to see people get a deal. I'm not a selfish woman. But somehow I just don't think that dessert is going to taste so yummy when I look around the room and realize others got it for free while I had to pay full price.

Again, not selfish - maybe just a little too budget-conscious. Makes me feel like I'm the sucker helping to finance someone else's vacation by being foolish enough to pay more.
I'm not angry about it. As others have said, "Life isn't fair." It just sucks some of the fun out of it - makes it a little less "Disney."
So, I'll keep doing my research and if Disney doesn't offer me a plan that makes me feel good about vacationing with them again, I'll just go somewhere else. Right now, we're discussing cancelling our May trip for SW, DC and BG. And if we don't get
free dining this fall, we'll probably go to US for Harry Potter.
Maybe I should be happy I haven't gotten a PIN code. Might be a cure for this Disney addiction I've had these past few years.
