We want to go here to take our 3 year old in Oct.. We had planned to go last year and changed our minds. So now here we are thinking about it again. We are already going to do CP and LTT during our stay since we enjoyed them both last year. We have 2 days we can not pick where to eat and so we keep thinking maybe CM!

So here are my questions..

Do they have enough everyday kinda foods that kids will eat??

Anything really good there for dinner?

How exactly is this place set up? Anyone have a good pic? This is the biggest reason dh does not want to go there b/c from what he has seen it looks like it is thrown smack in the middle of the CR and does not have a nice enviroment feel to it. Is this true? Dh is not a fan of the look of the CR so he would not want to feel like that is where he is eating..lol

Thanks for any info. We want to decide soon. :goodvibes

I think CM is more like CP than like LTT. It is two areas: one where the food is, two huge buffets and at breakfast a large island with baked goods as well. The other area is a huge room with a high ceiling. It is a little noisy and people are always coming and going from one room to the other.

We personally prefer OHanna... but I'm sure you'll get opinions all over the board on that!!

There was a rumor I saw earlier tonight that the characters may change at 1900 to include some of the Pixar characters... that would be fun wouldn't it???
Where ever you go, you know you'll have fun.

I think Chef Mickey's is the perfect place for your three year old. He will love seeing the characters, and you will get some great photos.

The adults and kids in our party thought the food was pretty good. There is a big variety-something for everyone.

The restaurant is big and noisy-definately not a place to go for a nice intimate dinner. However, your son will have so much fun, you won't mind the noise.

We took our kids on the first night of our first trip to WDW when they were 5 and 7. It will always be one of the best memories I have. I will never forget how excited they were when we walked in and saw Goofy! For me, Chef Mickey's is pure Disney.

I have never eaten dinner there, but breakfast there is our tradition...we are kind of weird, we usually do it as our last meal, and eat there the morning of checkout and take one last ride on the monorail.

I think it is PERFECT for a 3 year old. Like Aunt Kelly said...it is PURE DISNEY. CM SCREAMS disney to me!!!

We've done both. Your three year old will love it!! :wizard:
There's plenty of food that he/she will enjoy and you too. It's good regular food, nothing fancy or to die for but good. It gets some bad reviews here, but I have to say I was not disappointed. Dessert is good and your little one can make his/her own sundae! This was a big hit with my kids, even my then 10 yr old.and Dh! :teeth:
Try it! It has a really fun atmosphere for the kids, the characters were great they came often and Goofy has always been a hit with us. Our CM was really nice and took a family pick of us with him. It brings back good memories for us. :goodvibes

We took our 5& 6year olds there for dinner in January and they had a great time ( lots of character interaction and photo ops) . They had alot of kid friendly foods ( Mickey shaped Ravioli kid size slices of pizza, mac& cheese etc..) AND so many yummy desserts to choose from they didn't know which to choose!

Expect high energy fun, solid, though not spectacular food, and good times. Part of the seating is in the open concourse. The other part is in a smaller room that has a drop ceiling. There is also a transition area between the two as well as the buffet table. They had plenty of kid stuff. I don't foresee any problems in that area. Give er a try. See if you like it.

CM's is our traditional first night meal.

We knew very little about Chef Mickey's before we went, and we where pleasantly surprised! We had a great time, and the food was really good! My kids still talk about the huge ice cream bar with all the toppings. Crystal Palace can't compete with Chef Mickeys, we can't wait till we go again!

We took our kids 4&6 to Chef Mickey our 1st night We were seated in the upper level so not so noisy as the main dinning room. My meat & potatoes husband loved the food and they have plenty of standard stuff for the kids. This is a must do for our family as there is just nothing better than seeing the main character when you arrive at Disney. I thought the character interation was the best here compared to Cyrstal Palace and Norway Princess.

We've gone to CM for dinner twice. The first time I thought it was wonderful, the second just mediocre.

Your DS will love the napking twirling thing the characters do every 30 minutes or so. It can get kind of rowdy, but it's lots of fun.

IMO, the best charactar meal - period - @ WDW.:thumbsup2

Food quality is a cut above usual buffet offerings.

We're partial to the CR. If your DH doesn't like the resort's ambiance, he'll hate the site - since you're basically sitting in the concourse(?). We think the monorails zipping past are part of the fun.:goodvibes

If you're taking little ones, it will be lots of fun for them with the characters. It's perfect for kids! :thumbsup2 I wasn't impressed with the food though. :sad2: My brother, our family's food snob, thought the best food in the buffet was the applesauce. :teeth: :teeth: We had to laugh at that one. :lmao: :lmao:

Anyway, I thought Cape May Cafe's breakfast was way better. Also, the breakfast was really good at AKL's Boma. However, CM's ambiance is definitely geared toward young children. When my kids were that age, they ate nothing, so food quality wasn't priority for them. :teeth: :teeth:

:thumbsup2 we liked it a lot and would choose it over CRT in terms of character meals!!

FUN FUN FUN is all I can say!!

And we found the food to be very good!!

They have a huge Sundae Bar and there is dancing and partying and singing!!

Do not go there if quiet is what you crave because CM's rocks!! Literally!!

we had a great time but dd's smoothie was very ICKY!!!
so don't bother with that!! But for dinner we had a great time!!

We ate at cm dinner on easter sunday-were not impressed with the food at all, we found 1900 park fare and crystal palace much better.
HOwever the character interaction was the best and the kids loved it. So this trip we will try cm for breakfast with a very late seating and make it our brunch and we will use a cs for dinner that day.
