Some of the new kids menu scans:

I am happy to see some restaurant specific items offered on the menus. It would have been a shame if all of the childrens menus throughout Disney had the same choices. I was going to worry about it whe we got there, but between the scans and Buffalogal's feedback, I know that my DGD will have plenty to choose from during our 10 day stay.

Now - the menus would be totally perfect if they did away with the "complete meal" vs. "pick three" division and let kids just choose an appetizer/entree/dessert from the complete list. It would give parents (and kids) so many more options for food combinations.

I agree with this.

I don't know about other restaurants but......at WCC we are allowing mixing and matching between the complete meals and the you pick it meals. For example, if you want the grilled chicken and pasta with the watermelon and worms and dirt, we are able to do that.

Totally agree! That was my main argument against the "old" new kids menu. You had 3 complete meals that you couldn't mix & match. When one kid wants a hamburger, he can get ice cream, but the kid who wants a pizza is stuck with sliced apples as his dessert.

You know, there must be at least 25 threads with PAGES of compliants about the kid's menu (where's the chicken nuggets!??!?), most from people who hadn't set foot on property yet. Now, however, the menu's are being refined and the truth about them is coming out from people who actually have seen them, and they aren't looking too bad. Maybe Disney always planned on expanding them, maybe they were waiting for input, who knows. But funny how there is only this one thread talking about the improvements versus the many still bashing it. Just goes to show you, some people are happier complaining than just being happy.

well said, thank you.

That would really suck! But these menu's look alright to me. They should have more choices. They need picky eater kid food and some kids like the more grown up meals kid size of course. But what kid on vacation wants aplles for dessert :confused3 . Not mine, they like kiddie cones and the chocolate moose (Le Cellier) and all the cool desserts. As far as the adult menu, I'm on vacation and want to eat good tasty possibly fattening food.

That is good to hear. When we were at 50's PT They would not let us do that.

Well if this had been what they had rolled out there would have been applause all around, but according to their own press releases and all the info given out, this was not presented as a test. To all those who seem so smug that anyone who complained or argued against this has now had it rubbed in their nose because disney now got it right I find ludicrous. I dont think anyone came on here wanting to be upset and angry about this, rethinking vacation plans etc etc and generally being alarmed and miserable because this is not what they were expecting to find on vacation. A small dose of reality is in order for those who honestly think that was the case.

I was part of the party that bashed the (old) new kids menu because I experienced it firsthand and totally found it unacceptable. But, I truly believe that due to all the complaints that happened in the early days of the new menu, Disney did make changes to them, tweaked them slightly. Notice how the "Just Dip It" is gone because let's face it, it SUCKED!

I'm glad I complained, because if I didn't and many others didn't, the old rendition of the new menu would still be floating around.

I was one who wrote Disney BEFORE our November trip expressing dissatisfaction with what I was seeing. I was told one thing in a follow-up call (can substitute fries, for instance), but the experience at the parks was completely different and disastrous. I've already said I met more managers on this trip than ever before. It is NOT at all difficult for the Disney organization to implement change (damage control) rapidly and I think that is what is happening here. These are NOT the same menus from just 4 weeks ago and they appear to be MUCH improved to me.

Glad to see they are back to offering steak at Concourse (we'll be there in February). However, anyone know what they do about the surcharge when you're on the dining plan? Do they simply allow you to order it or do you pay the surcharge in cash?

Also, anyone been to LeCellier or Coral Reef in the last week or so? Any changes there? We're coming down for ds's 9th birthday and these are the restaurants we'll be patronizing. CR is ds's birthday dinner choice and I'd hate to have him find out that the lobster bisque is no longer available.

At both LeCellier and Concourse, the servers said that the steak surcharge doesn't apply to guests on DDP. (The only extra we paid at LeCellier was to upgrade the kid dessert to the chocolate moose, which is now on the regular menu.) Based on one recent visit to each restaurant, the Concourse steak for kids was much better than the LeCellier steak for kids.

Thanks. I'm glad to see that they've added back in a restaurant-specific choice!

These menus are a huge improvement over what I saw online before our trip! We got the new menu at Concourse and LeCellier, and my DS was happy with the steak choice at both places.

Excellent news PoohFan97. Thanks for the update. I don't think my sons will care much about the moose, as they are more ice cream eaters.

Now if I can only confirm Coral Reef (that they still have the lobster bisque on the kids menu), I'll be all set. But if not, I'll just order it for DS either OOP or give him mine and take whatever he gets.

I've got some more scans:

I m just praying for CM's to allow some substitutions. The entree's on the mickey plated meals look great but like others have said, it sucks for those who choose the "healthier" entree to be penalized with apples instead of ice cream for dessert....anyone know an email address for disney dining???

Thanks for these! You have certainly eased my mind. I think DS will find plenty to eat.

Thanks! The new menus look great - I am so glad that the restaurant-specific choice and fries at the Sci Fi are back!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I wonder if the "test" menu was/is for "free" dining - hmmmmmmmm.
