The Veal Shank is gone!! Along with the Oak Fired Filet!!

Now its a veal chop and a rib-eye.

Our bartender Courtney (who is excellent by the way) seemed to think the shank went away due to cost--they are expensive and when they didn't sell out each night, the restaurant took a hit.

She did say that "now and then" they will have a few veal Shanks on hand--but not listed on the menu--you need to ASK if they have any.

Anyway--disappointing whatever the reason. Hopefully it won't be permanent.

Hmmm. I know you're a big Citrico fan Unc. Do these changes tip the scale in favor of one of the other Signature restaurants, in your opinion?

They did offer the veal shank to me last night when I ate there for $54.

I just checked on the Allears.net menu page, and both of these items are still on the menu at Citricios.

We were at Citricos last Thursday (5/1/14), and shank was still there.
I always get it, as I enjoy the marrow.

The filet and the shank were both NOT on the menu Monday last week--if they had been, I would have gotten the shank and Mrs U the filet.

And neither was any Grouper--it was a Tuna filet instead.

Perhaps this is why most WDW menus are printed on just paper--and often dated!!

As an aside--at Olivias they have an omlette that you can get stuffed with a choice of about 10 different fillings.

I had it last Tuesday morning.

On Saturday morning--it was GONE--replaced by a a Western-style omlette.

They used to have the Crab Gateau which was just fabulous. Have any of you regulars seen it lately, even as a special offering?

That used to be my favorite thing at Citricos. I don't think I've seen it there for at least four or five years.

Veal Shank being pricier and so many people play it safe with steak and shy from trying veal (dunno why), it makes sense :(

I don't get why they would do away with a filet...Everyone gets filet, people who genuinely love filet and non-steak people always think to go filet. I'm surprised about that one...

More flavor from the rib-eye if it's bone in :p
I'm upset about the veal shank :(

Me too! Was hoping I had just missed it. :( Maybe will have to ask the chef. One of the few things I have been unable to replicate successfully!

By the server. She stated while it isn't listed on the menu, they will have it for those that would still like it.

1) Menus are frequently changed daily.
2) It is s simple manner to reprint the page and insert it into the portfolio.
3) Maybe, that is what happened here.
4) Items can be added/deleted from TS Signature menus easily
. . . not enough on-hand
. . . quality of inventory is not up-to-par
. . . specials that become available

That it happened on two different days isn't comforting.

Others will doubtless eat at Citricos in the near future and we'll know soon if it's a permanent thing---

may be my fault, I always get fish so I'm one of the reasons it wasn't selling...
