Hello DISers. I am writing this thread concerning some things that have been happening. Yes, I know I said I was taking a break from the teen board but I feel I must bring this to attention. I write this thread in the hopes that it will lead to a better teen board.

Many of us feel that certain DISers (you know who you are) seem to be very negative and enjoy making many of us feel inferior by being quite rude. They seem to not want to even consider anyone else’s opinion and become determined to force people who have a differing opinion to conform to theirs. Sometimes, it just seems as if they are just looking for an argument. I just don’t know why some of you feel you have to be mean.

There is no reason for us to be rude to each other. Of course, this is a discussion board and discussions are made up of opinions. Opinions do not always agree with each other. Also, there is absolutely no justification for out of the blue rude personal attacks.

We are here to talk about something we all love, Disney, with tons of off topic things of course. We are not here to be mean to each other. Many of us do not appreciate how they make us feel. Frankly, sometimes some of you treat us like worthless pieces of filth with no feelings.

I seriously doubt that any of you are as rude and mean in real life as you are on here. When we are speaking through the internet, sometimes we feel like we are invincible. I understand how easily it is to get carried away because of that feeling. Of course I have also been rude and I am sorry for that.

Some of you say I won’t have any friends because of the way I behave. But I seriously doubt that. In just a little over six months I have made so many great fiends on here. They like me for who I am and I know they will continue to be my friends for years to come.

After much thinking, I realized that my friends on here outweigh my “unfriends” by a lot. And that I should stop focusing on my “unfriends” and I should focus on those many wonderful friendships that I have found in this half year.

Now, anyone else that feels this way, speak your minds. Let your opinion be heard.

People on here do seem to go out of their way to yell at people. I've seen people get bashed for what color font they were using, how they typed, and things like that. Basically, if you're different or have any different sort of opinion, you get bashed. This really bugs me. If you can't fit into the conformist ways, you're automatically ignored or bashed beyond all belief.

I agree completely with what you just said.

I would like to add one thing that I've noticed and that would be an increase in personal attacks.All of a sudden you guys (you know who you are) have been arguing your points quite violently and if anyone doesn't agree with you then you attack them until they leave the discussion.Some of these things you guys have done are just way out of line.For one thing I remember a few of you guys saying that when one person posted links to disprove your point you all started saying it's only one link and how that wouldn't work at your school.Newsflash maybe the person didn't want to post every link that said the same thing so that person went with one.That one link if you guys didn't noticed ended with .gov which means that whatever on there is true.

Another example you guys attacked someones job and said his employer treated their employees badly.He then pointed out what the company does for them and you guys said that everyone that agreed that the employer is nice had something going on in there head.

Lets end all the hate please and if your not mature enough to do that then your not mature enough to be on the internet.

I think that everyone on this whole site fights too much.

This is the internet. You go on to relax after whatever you did after any particular day. Coming on here to argue can't ease your tension in any way, can it? If you get mad at something or someone in real life, what's the point in taking it out on people on a message board that probably don't even care that much about you?

Maybe those who feel attacked are simply interpreting it differently. It's been known to happen. Someone who knows me fairly well will understand that I'm actually a humorous/sarcastic person when I say "you're ugly". Someone who doesn't know me will honest to God think I think that person is the most hideous thing ever. Also, opinions should be formed on fact. When someone refuses to acknowledge those facts, then a problem forms. Doesn't matter if you're joking around, because again, people interpret things it different ways.

I also think the word "bash" is relative. To me, bashing is "I hate you you stupid idiot. I hate the font you're using you're such a dummy why would you use that that's such an ugly font. God I hope you die in a black hole when Delta Vega dies blah blah blah on and on". To others, bash may mean "Your font is hard to read and it needs to be changed so we can read your posts".

I can honestly say I'm the same way here as I am in RL. My friends know that and they ignore me if they don't agree with it. But, by this time we all know each others faults and good things so it's not a problem. The problem here is that I don't know any of you - I've made about 4 honest, good friends here. Just like in RL, we have great friends and great enemies here. It's highly unlikely that everyone here are going to get along with everyone. I speak for myself when I say I am naturally argumentative. If you don't like it and see me going in for a debate, IGNORE ME. It won't hurt my feelings I promise!

but i just got to say that most people come online to escape from their real life.
being judged is just a reality, and the internet is one place to sort of escape that.
attacking someone you have never even met is really low.

I hope I have never hurt anybody by voicing my opinion. I truly am sorry and that would not have been my intentions. I do like to voice my opinions though. Yes in real life I am more happy go lucky. I don't tend to get into arguments with people, and actually avoid hot topics. & yes on the internet I feel more at will to voice these opinions. I do feel more relaxed, and I feel it is a place where I can voice my opinions without ruining long time relationships, friendships, ect.

I do agree that this should be a place to relax and release tensions. But maybe sometimes arguing, and debating is a way for some people to relax. I think everybody is entitled to their own opinion, and a part of debating is proving your point. Yes sometimes it can be taken to far, but its a fact that people cannot agree on everything. Sometimes they can't even compromise. Its human nature.

Again I am sorry if I ever did hurt somebody, it was not my intentions and I hope you forgive me if I did.

Sorry to do this but I gotta do it. This thread was made to be intended for getting people to stop arguing. Everything that you typed seemed to be an argument against that. I completely agree that we all need to get along, since we are all here for the same reason. We love Disney.

I know what you mean. I knew that I was arguing when I wrote that. I'm not denying that. I just said it because that person has seemed to be a cause of a lot of the problems I've seen here recently. Sorry if I made anyone mad.

I certainly agree that we're all here because we have Disney in common and should stop the fighting, but I must be missing something because I tend not to think that anyone has been personally attacking anyone else

Maybe I just don't take things seriously when I read them, but I find all the "arguing" on here more debate-ish than personal attack-ish. Like Sonya said, everything is relative, and maybe some people take things said on here far too seriously. I know I'm a very sarcastic individual, so perhaps someone has read into my comments more than I had intended? I'm not sure. I take everything with a grain of salt personally.
I dunno, I find that some people get bent out of shape on the opinion-based boards sometimes, but only recently has it gotten slightly out of hand. I hope that doesn't continue and that we can have healthy debates and discussions like we usually do.

And FTR I'm not disagreeing with this thread at all, in fact I definitely agree that we need to try to bite our tongues sometimes and try to get along more. Some people just get testy sometimes, and what are you gonna do...just ignore what you don't like and move on.
