Hello all....a couple of questions about tipping....we are in a category 4 stateroom....do they expect more of a gratuity in the better or higher staterooms....it may sound like a wacky question....and also....they add a gratuity to your bar bills...what is the percentage now and do you also tip extra besides that gratuity.....do they expect it or is it understood that the gratuity is already added.....and last...room service...what kind of gratuity do you give them.....Thanks....Tom

Same tips for everyone regardles of category. Tips are per person, not per stateroom, so if you have 5 people in a category 4, the tip would be more than a room with only 3 guests. For room service, a couple of dollars per trip. With wine at dinner, I think we always added more than the 15%, but other than that, we just signed the tickets and they got the standard added amount.

Out by the pool if we ordered a few drinks from the same bar tender then we would leave an additional tip.....mostly though we had different people serve us each time and the 15% auto tip was enough. If you had built up a repore (sp) with a server or bar tender and felt you wanted to leave more, do so!

For room service we give $1-3 depending on how much food we order.

The number of people in the room (regardless if they are adult or child) x suggested amount is the standard for tipping. But when I have received exp. great service I have given more than suggested and vice versa!! Tipping is a very personal issue and there is always someone who gets flamed for their opinions!!!

As for room service- I ussually tip $1 per item ordered- I have used the gold dollars but now we just take a stack of $1 bills and keep them in the safe so they are easily accessible.

As for the bar- I agree with the above posters!! Enjoy

I usually tip more for the drinks brought to our chairs as Castaway Cay. They have to walk so far back to the bar through the sand that I feel a little extra is worth it.

We don't tip extra for dinks at dinner (DH loves the smoothies) or up by the pool (since we often go get those ourselves).

TChrist05, For what it's worth, I don't think it's a whacky question at all! I have been wondering the same thing. We will be staying in the Roy Disney Suite. Funny thing is, the cruise is covered, we just have to save for tips! ;)

Thanks all....we are leaving in exactly 12 days for our Magical eastern cruise....and that was all I needed to get done....I was just wondering if the higher categories are expected to tip more....but I will tip more if the service is exceptional...which it usually is on DCL...
Thanks again...
Tom

We did tip extra when we were in a Catagory 3 since it was twice the size of a normal stateroom. The Stateroom host had two bathrooms to clean, plus a wet bar to clean.

I would tip normally in a Cat 4 - based on service

We also enclose phone cards in the envelopes for the people who gave us better than average service. This trip it was our Head Server, Stephanie (yes, she did a lot of extras for us) and our Room Steward, Pareen.
