1. What's the difference between the trolley and the train other than what it looks like? Do they stop at the same stops? Can you get on or off at each stop?

2. We're not booking it through DCL because we want to stop along the way. Is it really necessary to pre-buy tickets directly from Key West on their website, or will walk-up service be good enough?

The train and the trolley have booths where you can walk up and buy tickets. If you take the train don't sit in front or back seat where the cars link together. Very noisy and hard to hear driver's tour info. Wish we'd sat closer to the front too. We did some shopping first and were surprised how long the tour ride was. We left train at cemetary and walked 2 blocks back to ship because we were afraid we'd be late getting back on board ship.

Mike - the train does not stop along the way, but the trolley does. I think there are about 8 or 9 stops for the trolley line. We did not purchase tickets for the trolley until we got to the trolly counter in Key West. We waited for about 5 minutes and hopped on the next trolly. I would have gotten the tickets on line to get the discount, but forgot all about doing it before we left. We had planned on getting off at a few stops but decided not to as we went around. DD7 wasn't really impressed, but it was ok as tours go.

We have vacationed in Key West several times. Personally, if you aren't traveling with too young of children, I would recommend renting Mopeds. There is a large gift shop at the end of Duvaul St. which sells a map of the Key and points out all the historical landmarks. Buy one, hop on a moped and tour the key at your leisure. Key West is very moped friendly so you don't have to worry about crazy car drivers. I am not sure how old you have to be to ride on the back of the moped with a driver, but if possible, mopeds are the way to go!!!!

Are the trolleys air-conditioned? Someone had mentioned that the conch train tour can be hot since you're basically outdoors with just a cover over you on the train, whereas the trolleys are supposedly enclosed? But are the trolleys air-conditioned? I'm not a huge fan of heat and humidity! :)

I have mentioned many times that I have packages for anyone that wants to send for them- it includes maps, information about Key West, coupons, etc for the cost of just a SASE - it takes about an 8" envelope with about $3.50 worth of stamps - you can look over it with your leisure - there is nothing in it for me except I want my hometown to treat you special - you can send for it at THE PERFECT GIFT, 6550 NO. ATLANTIC AVE, CAPE CANAVERAL, FLORIDA 32920 and I will get it filled up and that is it - also if you present my business card, you will be given conch rates
If there are any questions I can answer, just drop me at note at snelsonbrown@aol.com

Shirley - I placed an order with someone at TPG today (Joanne?)...lovely woman!

If I asked you for a Key West map/packet, could I pick it up on Friday at your store? I'll be staying at the Radisson and can swing by.

Thanks!
