Here's the scenario - My DH and I have rented points for a 1 bedroom at VWL. My parents are getting the free dining deal for a 1 bedroom at VWL. We are going to put 2 of my kids on their reservation so they can get free dining also.

How will this work at a TS - if half our party in on the plan and half is off? Also what if my DH and I take my 2 kids to a TS and only the 2 kids have the dining plan - will that work?

My DH and I *may add the plan onto our reservation - will this change things or can they link the cards??

Sorry if this is confusing... :)

It is not a problem. Just let the server know which guests are paying with the dining plan and which aren't and they will split the checks.

If you want a dining plan on your reservation you will need to call DVC Member Services and add it no later than 2 days before arrival. You will not be linked with the other room. You are on a completely separate room reservation. I don't think you can link a DVC reservation to a cash reservation, as they are on different systems. You will have your own credits on your key card, and the other room will have theirs. You can get access to your children's credits only from their own key cards, not yours, because they are registered on a different room reservation.

If the kids are on the dining plan and you are not, make sure you have one of their key cards on hand so you can use it to pay for their meals.

Thanks so much for the reply! I'm not sure what we will do yet as far as a DP for us, but it will help SO much to have the 2 kids on it as my son is going to be 10 this year and the baby will be 3 so we were wondering how we were going to afford those character meals! :)

Wouldn't it be 3 kids on the dining plan? 3 and up need a ticket and would be included in the package. The 10 year old would be considered an "adult" for ticket and dining.

Yup I have 3 kiddos, but only 2 can be on my parents reservation since only 4 can fit in a 1 bedroom villa, so we will have 1 on ours and we rented points, so no free dining for us :) If we decide we will call and add it for my DH, myself and my youngest. Definately gonna add my son to my parents room so we can take advantage of his "adulthood" :)
