Some cabins better than others?

In June I will take the family to FW for a week. I read these posts daily trying to get hints and ideas of how best to enjoy the trip. On a different board, I read about people moving rooms because they didn't like theirs. That includes some cabins as well.
Are there a particular set of cabins that are better than others? Are there cabins to try to avoid?
The youngins are 6 and 3. We might use the pool some, but not everyday. We will have a golf cart. One of my two dwarfs, Sleepy, sleeps through anything. The other, Grumpy, wakes up if you blink your eyes too loudly.
I am just not sure if there is a cabin or area I should request. Or since it will be mid-June, and I am sure slam packed, I should just be happy to have a place to sleep down there.

The interior of the cabins are all exactly alike. They were all renovated within the last year or so, so there is no difference once you are inside. That leaves location as the only issue. Since you're going to have a golf cart, I think you'll be fine with any location. One of the best things about the cabins is how quiet they are. I've never had a problem with noise outside the cabin being heard inside the cabin at all.

Having said that, we still like to stay in loop 2100 - it's the closest to most of the action at FW. Some people like 2700 or 2800, which are the closest to the outpost bus stop to all parks other than MK. Yet others might want to be closer to the cabin pool. Take a look at a FW map and see what you think will suit you best. Again, though, given that you have a golf cart, there isn't much difference between the loops at all.

Have a great trip! You'll love FW!

The last night I was there, 4/24, someone was throwing a party at one of the cabins. It wasn't the noise that was disturbing, because I travel with a white noise machine that blocked most of it. But the bass was so strong it kept making the bed move - which was not conducive to good sleep. I know they say you are supposed to be quiet after 10pm, but I guess they didn't get the memo. I was in loop 2200, which I felt was a really good location - central, not too big, and with a bus stop right at the entrance.

Wow - sorry that happened to you! While I do not doubt at all that that happened exactly the way you said, I still think that the cabins at FW are generally a very quiet place to stay, much more so than any of the regular resorts where kids can run up and down the halls at all hours, you can hear other peoples' TVs, etc.

Yes, you're correct. The other 9 nights, it was very quiet. I figured it was one of those Murphy's Law things - the one night you are going to have to get up really early in the morning is the one night you won't be able to sleep. It certainly wouldn't keep me from going back. I'd go back now if I could.

OT!

I just wanted to let you know I made "Leslie's Sausage Things" today!
I copied the recipe from your trip report months ago, but just got around to trying them!

Awesome! Very easy! Very rich!
I did the first set as per your instructions, and the second set I cut each triangle into 3, and put about 1 heaping teaspoon of the cream cheese + sausage on each & then folded the ends over. Perfect size for hor d'oeuvres!

Back to topic (sort of!):
I was wondering that about the Fort, if people used it as a loud party place. It's nice camping in the quiet, and also nice hearing people talking and laughing in the night, because that's part of the camping atmosphere, but I so dislike hearing the boom boom of the bass from the speakers! Aargh! I would have been over there in my pjs to pull the plug!
Glad to hear it seems to be quite isolated!
Fla4Fun, sorry you had to endure that!

I'd go back now if I could.

You and me both! Last time I looked (about 2 hours ago), I still have 3 months, 4 weeks and 1 day. The waiting is killing me!

OT!

Wow - it makes me so happy when I hear people actually made, much less LIKED, my sausage thing recipe! :goodvibes I've never tried the smaller bites, but I will next time. Thanks for the idea!
