Hello :goodvibes
I am a newbie to this particular board :)

We are hoping to go to Orlando next summer (have to be in school summer holidays) around end of july beg of August for 2 weeks, 2 adults and 3 children. From what I can gather is it best to book hotel and flights separately? I was hoping to fly with Virgin and stay onsite at a disney hotel , would need a 5+ room with ddp and 14 day tickets. Any recommendations for a hotel? Have been looking at Port Orleans and for this august with tickets and ddp the price is coming up very favourabily at £2877. When will virgin flights go on sale for next summer and what price would I be looking to pay?

Many thanks for you help, there is so much info out there and i just don't know where to start :upsidedow

Hi Claire :wave2:

The Aligator Bayou rooms at Port Orleans Riverside can take 5 people but the 5th bed is a 'trundle' bed that pulls out from under one of the main beds. It's really only suitable for a small child.

There are family suites available at the All Star Music resort which will take 6 people which work out slightly more expensive than the POR rooms.

If booking flight only then flights will be available 11 months out, but flydrives will be bookable from whenever they appear in the Virgin Holidays brochure.

Thankyou, my son will be just turned 4 next summer so he will be fine in a trundle bed :thumbsup2

Hi - it will be worth waiting until a bit later this year as DDP is normally offered free for bookings between about Sept & Dec - that will save you loads! You can either book that offer direct with disney and then just get your flights with virgin or you can book it through virgin - whatever works out cheaper for you! We are also thinking of going for a big holiday next summer so will be holding out til later this year so we can hopefully get free food :yay:

The best thing to find out what is right for you is to price the holiday up as a package then one as a diy package.

I have done this but have found that it was still cheaper for me to book through a package because we want two rooms.
