Hi guys,

WDW newbie, so I hope you bear with me.

We are travelling to WDW from Australia later this year and I'd like to grab some of the "must do" reservations. I am just a bit confused around the 180+10 and how it applies to split stays.

We are staying at AOA, checking in Fri Oct 16 and checking out Tues Oct 20. Checking into VGF Tues Oct 20 and checking out Tues Oct 27.

If I log on at 6am EST on April 19 (I think that's the day), what days can I book for?

1. Oct 16 - Oct 26 (10 days), or
2. Oct 16 - Oct 20 (length of stay at AOA)?

It would be nice to get everything sorted out all at once, but if I have to log on again to book the Grand Floridian portion of the trip, then so be it.

The most recent posts have said that it is now check in day and length of first stay and then you will have to wait until the 180 day for the second stay to book Oct 20-27. Previously phone castmembers were able to book 180 + 10 even if it included days on the second half of a split stay, but that capability seems to have ended sometime within the last 2 months.

Thanks for the info :)

At least due to timezones I can hop online at 8pm and get the reservations done that way instead of having to wake up early!!!

Sadly true. I logged in today at my 180 day mark and was only allowed to book for the first leg of my trip. So disappointing. As long as you're staying on Disney property, I feel it's wrong to be penalized like that.

I can't help but wondering if people weren't claiming longer stays, or booking 2 stays, just to book their ADRs. And then cancelling part of their stay.

Your not really being penalized. Disney doesn't recognize split stays, they see them as 2 separate bookings. It would be nice if they did, but they never had. It is a shame that for whatever reason they now will not the extra bookings.

Disney has never recognized "split stays," at least not for ADR purposes. They use to allow you to book a full 10 days after your check-in date, so people never really noticed.

DVC member here who visits Disney for 3 weeks at a time or longer. As a DVC member I frequently do split stays a week at 3 different resorts. The old system would allow me to call in give my first stay reservation number then Disney dining could book my first night plus 10. Each day after I would call in and book the next day dining till my 3 weeks were booked. This all changed on February 24th when they changed the system to allow Be Our Guest lunch reservations. Now Disney dining can not over ride the system to book +10 on a split stay :( So now I have to "play the system" to book my +10 dining. I book my DVC split stay at 7 or 11 months in advanced depending on where Im staying. I then call Disney and book a resort room or package for the same time and length of my DVC stay and pay a deposit. At 180 day I book my dining 180 +10 using the "resort Stay" confirmation number. That gets me my 180 +10. Then after the dining is booked 5 months before my trip I cancel my Resort room or package that I booked. My deposit is refunded to me and I still have the dining booked for my DVC stay. I don't want to play the system but I now have to if I want to book 180 +10 on my DVC split stay.

Hopefully it'll let me book the 20th (check out day), I was hoping to get BOG on that date.. Sounds like it's very slim odds but I'll have to give it a go.

I guess I'll find out tomorrow night when I try to book :)
