can you help we are having a heated discusion me and DW can any one tell us how many standard view rooms at BWV
Thanks Paulh

To the best of my knowledge, only Disney/DVC knows for sure. That info is not part of the info provided when you purchase. Estimates (from various posters on this board) range from 15% - 20% of the total number of rooms.

Maybe the fact that no one here knows for sure is a good thing - that way neither of you has to be wrong! :teeth:

I've seen the 20% number thrown about enough with almost no variance to believe it's very on target. I don't recall if I've seen anything directly from DVC that says that but it seems to me that I have seen something in writing in the past to that effect as well.

I saved the DVC listing posted about a month ago which stated:

97 Dedicated Studios
130 Dedicated 1Bdrm
0 Dedicated 2Bdrm - 149 Lockoffs
7 Grand Villas = 383 Units / 532 Max. Available Rooms

Hope this helps (if it doesn't go your way, I can always edit my post ;) )

I have never seen an actual count. All the standards are in the front of the building and those overlooking the tennis courts. You could probably do a pretty good count from the outside. The 15%to 20% estimate that is often given (meaning about about 57 to 76 rooms out of the total 383, which counts a 2BR as one room) is fairly accurate just based on what I know of the layout of the resort. There are 2BR lockoffs and dedicated studios and dedicated 1BR's that are standard. There are no GV's in standard.

Here's a quote from an e-mail I received from Member Services last May when I inquired about the possibility of getting 10 days in a standard studio at BWV in January.

Did you know that standard view rooms make up less than 10% of Disney's Boardwalk Villas?

They didn't have availability so I just booked my home resort WLV. It worked out fine for our first trip, I'm glad we stayed at our "home" resort.

I saw that 10% number Disney sent you before and I know just from layout it is more than 10%. However, at the time that e-mail was sent the 10% number was likely literally true as all the tennis view court rooms were (and still are) out service for refurbishment.

That's good to know!!! Maybe I'll have better luck if I decide to try for a standard studio in the future!:)
