I finally found a solution that works for me. I have 2 rows of magazine files, sorted by color. If it is too big, I either cut it down or I put it in with my full sheets of paper, but in the front, so I can find it easily. I used an accordion file folder before. It was too full and I usually just added paper to it since getting it out was too hard. All of this paper camer from the folder -- clearly it was bursting! I now go to my scraps first. I have used quite a lot of it since I made the change. I also no longer accumlate piles of scraps that need to be put away since it is so much easier to put it away.
I don't really have much a system for patterned papers -- they all go in an accordion file folder, just jumbled up, not sorted at all.
That annoying piece of green in the yellow box is a piece of double sided paper - -yellow on the other side.
