I'm going solo to WDW Dec 9th-18th. I also went solo back in May '05. On my first trip even though I'd never eaten anywhere by myself I purposely booked alot of TS just to make myself try them. I was pleasantly surprised at just how easy it was. (The only time I was uncomfortable was at Biergarten when I got seated as the lone female at a table full of men.)

Anyway on this next trip I plan to do more CS, but would like to try a few TS places I've never been to before, ie. Nine Dragons, Tempura Kiku, Chef's de France, Spoodles, Big River Grill, Artists Point, and maybe Jikos. Have you ever eaten solo at any of these places and if so how was it and what did you order? Sometimes I'd rather have two appetizers instead of an entree, so I can have room for dessert. Would they frown on this or consider it being cheap? It just depends on my mood and truthfully some of the appetizers sound better than the entrees (for example Spoodles).

big river grill - and ate outside (?) so I could people watch.

Artist Pointe - I actually got a table with a view to the outside. :thumbsup2

I have food allergies - one of my worst is pepper so lots of time I can't order off the menu.

I love Cape May Cafe - great staff!!!

I've eaten at both Chefs de France and Spoodles. Although I didn't order just 2 appetizers at either place, I have done it at LTT. I told the server I didn't want to fill up on lunch, because I wanted dessert. So I ordered a soup and salad, and then dessert. I've only been to Spoodles once, so far, and I enjoyed it, but I'm getting pretty comfortable with solo dining. If this were about 5 years ago (little experience solo dining then), I'd probably feel pretty uncomfortable. However, Chefs de France, at lunchtime, was one of the first places where I actually enjoyed solo dining. I always asked for, and received, a window table, and at lunch time, there are lots of people going by. So if you're into people watching, it's great. And one time, I got to see a performance of the guy who climbs all the chairs, because they set up right near the window. Service is fine, but I've never had a very personable server there-they seem more uncomfortable about a solo diner than I am! For lunch, I've always had the grilled cheese special. The one time I went there for dinner, I had some skewered seafood that was really good.

I ordered appetizer (fruit and cheese plate), small salad, and dessert at Rose & Crown Dining Room, as I wanted to leave room for dessert. The server was very nice, and I was comfortable not ordering an entree. BTW, their citrus trifle is awesome!
