Solo trip with no ADRs are you dumb nuts? Pre (maybe) trip report

Just became a DVC member and joined DIS. I looked at your past TR's and hope you do another one. Your New Year's pictures got me excited for when I get to go for New Year's - even though it's not until 2012! Have fun and enjoy yourself. I'm goign with DH this Oct. and can't wait to have a relaxing time and not be running around.

I know you will have a great time. We don't plan anything during our trips as well. You should have no problem at all sitting at the bar at most the restaurants. Heck, I'm sure you'd even be able to squeeze in at CA Grill. Enjoy!

CA Grill was one that I was thinking of. Love that place.

Be sure to eat at Sanaa and ask for a window table. That's what I did when I was solo at AKV last month. Watching the animals really passed the time-I loved it!

Heard others say good things about Sanaa. I will definitely check it out. Maybe lunch on a non park day.

your tr's are so entertaining, so i admit i would love to read another (with scratching edited out, hopefully;))

btw, my 20's dd and i went may 1-10 with literally nothing (nada squat) planned.
no adrs, no tours, no must-sees or dos............

we woke up every morning (no alarm), had coffee on our BWV balcony (of course, BW view:cloud9:).
the rest of our days we wandered......if we were hungry, we ate wherever we were closest to if we felt like it. we rode attractions only if the lines were short, sat on benches and chatted with strangers, took the monorail in a circle just because, had many a leisurely stroll to/fro DHS (sometimes we didn't even enter the park), speed-skipped to EPCOT just for a grey goose slushie and illuminations, laid by the pool drinking margaritas, hung out on the BW watching the street performers and eating ice cream (for dinner!).......
everything was impromptu, and fantastic:) we did get a few FPs if we passed by an attraction we felt like going on - some we used a few hours after their window, most we just gave away.

life is soooo good in the slow lane at wdw - no stress, no frustration, just a deep blissful calm :cloud9:
have a wonderful time!

Sounds like what I hope my trip will be. I never had a Grey Goose slushy thing. Maybe have to try it this time.

Just returned from week in WDW. DW and I just did R&R, ate healthy, saved money (didn't have it to begin with), ate in room or "inexpensive restaurants", only went out one night to Paradiso 37 in Pleasure Island. Tried to be good - the food was excellent. Don't be afraid to eat a little earlier - we had no problem, but number of people in restaurants appear to be down(picked up later in Memorial Day Week). Enjoy your peaceful time - read a book - work out some more - do pool time (remember the sunscreen) - and get ready for DD to show up. They do grow up way too fast!

This is a non splurge trip so there will be plenty of food in the room, just don’t know how healthy it will be. Somewhat limited by staying in a studio on what I can cook. I will be bringing fruit and maybe some salad stuff. The Kindle someone gave me is loaded and I have a few books picked out. There will be reading and sipping cocktails at the pool.

Took DD and her friend to Paradiso 37 and really enjoyed it. I want to go there again but it is unlikely I will be hitting Downtown Disney (I am a lousy shopper). Today I went over the plans for our park day with DD and she is bummed about Wishes being replaced but is excited to see the MSEP. And yes, they do grow up fast.

I am jealous, in a way, I went with 2 friends 2 weeks ago thinking, no alarms, coffe on the balacony in the a.m., wine in the p.m. and to my surprise my friends wanted to go comando to to the parks every day since they have not been there in many years! Had a great time but I was so looking forward to relaxation with no DH or DD's and 6 nights to myself. I brought a book never opened it. I really am looking forward to the day I go to Disney, hang at the resort and not care what time it is, where I eat or if we did not go on "that" ride! Enjoy your time, take in the small pleasures! And do a TR since we are all looking forward to it! lol (no pressure of course) Enjoy!

Darn Commandos. It has been a few trips since I did commando days. We may do one on the Saturday she is with me. With the exception of the meet at the Poly. Next trip promise yourself you will “take in the small pleasures”.

Woo! I am going solo in2 weeks as well and will also be at the Poly meet. Looking forward to meeting you and also having a relaxing trip. I have no ADR's but I did book the 7 hour Backstage Magic tour. I figure this will be my only chance to do it since I will be by myself.
Nice to have the freedom to do as little or as much as you want.
See you in two weeks!

I will be there. It is my first meet with “Internet friends” so I am a little nervous. Worried about doing something stupid and it will be blasted all over the Boards.

I am thinking about booking a tour when I get there.

Welcome Home! New Year’s was fun. We expected the place to be crowded and it was. Dinner at V&A’s on NYE was a real treat that kept us away from the crowds. Read something last year that they really jacked up the prices for NYE. When we went it was the normal (and still very expensive) price. Have a great time in October.

This almost mirrors exactly how our trips are. As far as I'm concerned, there's no other way.

I'll be down solo in 2 weeks also and booked the Future World, Epcot tour. Same thinking as in when will I have a chance to do it again. As for plans, other than ideas about which park to go to which day, that's about it. Looking forward to some new things and a couple resort visits. I'm meeting up with some friends from another set of Boards. Whose having a Poly meet?

I-want-a-trip-report! Even if it is full of lies. :) Your trip reports entertain me and since I have to work most of the summer I need entertainment!

I also think you need to buy a "MINE" shirt. :rotfl: (And I do use the smiley faces. I even "borrow" them occasionally to post in my online courses.) :ssst: :rolleyes1

Sounds like a perfect trip. :) A group of us from the Dis Podcast boards are meeting. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2411167 Join us!

I have GOT to do this trip!! Sounds perfect.:dance3:

Another member of the DN (Dumb Nuts) Club signing on here for the trip report and the DIS meet at the Tambu Lounge...

Girl's Week Out at Disney starts June 18th and extends through June 28th.

I also don't have one single ADR for ten days at Mickey's House :scared1:

Now you have to understand...I am usually the ultra trip planner, so this is so out of character for me. My DM and DD10 are accustomed to arriving in the villa only to have me get out the Mickey magnet for the fridge and post "The Itinerary" for the week. I even changed resort plans for this trip at the last minute so the two of them are really scratching their heads right now.

Looking forward to your trip report if you choose to write one :)

OK, I will do a trip report if you tell your daughter that you will be taking her and a bunch of friends to WDW. Sorry about work. This is going to be the summer of fun for us. I am taking off the next three weeks and the rest of the summer is going to be a light workload.

Do they make Mine shirts?

Thanks for posting the link. Looking forward to the meet but I am a little nervous. It looks like a good group but this is the first time I met Internet "friends." See you there.

I think I'm going to take you up on that. This'll be a nice break in the trip and a chance to meet some like minded people. I'll check out the other thread. Thanks!

Make sure you say hi. A lot of the Dis Unplugged podcasters should be there also. I think we are going to overwhelm the place.

I have GOT to do this trip!! Sounds perfect.:dance3:

I agree and it is my goal to do the same.

As another uberplanner this trip seems a bit like an out of body experience. WHAT, NO ADRS. I don't even have ticket media yet let alone know what I am going to do. Could be interesting. Probably a lot of time at the pool. Don't know how exciting a TR would be without making fun of teenagers.

I have to laugh that you are describing your lack of planning as an out of body experience...my DM is thinking that I'm really joking about not planning anything and the itinerary is going to appear :lmao:
The only plan I have is to go up to the Top of World Lounge at BLT when I get on property Friday night and unload into that lake view studio and having a couple of recreational beverages...after that, the next ten days are a blank canvas!
Unlike you, I do have ticket media and a newly hormonal pre-teen to make fun of :thumbsup2

I enjoyed a solo trip at Jambo House myself in May. LOVED IT. Being in a deluxe resort, I treated myself to room service once and felt very "fancy".

I'm glad you enjoyed your (first of many) solo trip! :thumbsup2

You have a way with words :thumbsup2 looking forward to reading about your latest adventure !
