Hi everyone. I'm new to the boards. Long story short. I'm recently divorced and the only thing , besides my wonderful best friend Brandi (my Aussie shepherd), that can mend me is a trip to WDW. I was a little reluctant to go solo but everyone there is there to find magic so even though i may be alone, everyone there will be a friend. Especially the time i'm going, November 25-December 1.

I've already booked the D-lights tour so i also get to see the professional as part of the tour. Awesome! I have also booked a fantastic package and the Mickey Christmas Party. What i guess i need to know is there anything else a solo can do? Has anyone else ever gone solo and if so, how were the nerves? Also is there a place to find other sole-ers? Are there night spots for a nightcap where i won't stand out as a solo-er?

Thanks in advance for any info. I know i have a lot of other questions but i have another 5 months to ask them lol

Welcome to the solo club!! I go solo at least once a year (twice this yr actually) My new fav thing to do solo is the Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom game stop by the firehouse pick up you cards and map and have a blast battling the Disney Villains and collecting spell cards. Take your time and stroll leisurely through the countries in World Showcase talk to the various CM's in each country, try the different foods (love the rice cream in Norway!!!) and even though I'm solo I still have to meet the Princesses on my trips!!! :)

:welcome:

You might find the backstage magic tour interesting as well.

Welcome!!

I have never gone solo but just wanted to tell you there is a solo and adult travelers Forum on here! You may find some good tips there! :goodvibes

Disney is a great place to visit solo! First of all, there are so many solos, from those of us who choose to travel solo, to conventioneers in the parks between meetings (or their SO in the parks while they are in the meetings) that no one gives you a strange look when you ride solo or dine solo. I've found that CM's tend to be more talkative when dealing with a solo guest as well. So don't feel that you will stand out in any way just because you're solo.

If you are comfortable doing things on your own in the real world, then you'll be just fine doing things on your own at Disney World. You can go where you want, when you want, eat when you get hungry wherever you want - there aren't any "committee meetings" to vote on what to do next. It's complete freedom! If you just want to wander the park taking photos - fine. If you want to ride RNRC over and over - go for it. If you want to sleep in or get up and out for rope drop - your choice. The tours are great for solos, and I've been to both MVMCP and MNSSHP solo and had a great time. I dine mostly counter service just because I like to stop when I'm hungry, eat quickly, and get back to the fun. But the times I go to TS restaurants, I've never felt out of place.

You will really enjoy the holiday atmosphere.

hey scott, i've gone solo several times and have had a great time every time. you're gonna love it. i sent you a private message with more info.

I went solo last year...I was very nervous at first, but after getting into the park I was fine. I knew ahead of time what I wanted to do that day and I did it. I never felt like anyone was watching me, nor did I feel that anyone knew I was alone. I had a blast !!!!! And, I would do it again.

Have a great time.

I'm a soloer too. You may want to check out the resort codes and discounts board. There Are a couple of threads for November travellers. I'll be down 11/29-12/2 myself. There's plenty of us adults hanging around.

As for nightcap, you should check out jellyrolls on the boardwalk or some of the bars at the deluxe resort TS restaurants. Going solo can be a ton of fun. I've never felt awkward walking around by myself, though I do get a lot people asking where my parents are. :)
