Does the Heffalumps And Woozles song make anyone else nervous?
Ive been slacking in the PTR department, so Im going to try and shoot out a really fast one here. Ive had good reasons, really. Last week the Blackhawks won the Stanley Cup and I was busy being all YAY. And the week before, my dog had, lets just say gastrointestinal discomfort. I was up all night with him and had to call into work because he had to go out hourly. That episode made me realize Id make a really lousy nurse or parent. Anyway, because parents always take pictures of their sick kids, I took a picture of my sick dog:

Awwwww.
On with the show. Im 65 days out. I think advanced check-in is at 45 days? Airfare for NYE is still awful. Im going to end up paying over $400, which hurts. I can fly back to Costa Rica for that. Oh well, its Disney World. Ill be happy. My ADR window opens on Wednesday. Yay!
When I last left you, I was going all Agent P crazy. Today is much more relaxed, and likely much longer. Today is Hollywood Studios day and Magic Kingdom EMH. Let me just say right now, I have four Agent P/Perry T-shirts. One of them will come out this day for the Phineas & Ferb meet. As you saw in my earlier post, my only really successful meet and greet last trip was with Phineas & Ferb. My friends humored me and we stood in a line with a bunch of children and I had my moment with them. The only problem was that Phineas kept trying to talk through gestures and Ill be darned if I knew what he was saying.
My plan for today is to get to Hollywood Studios super early. I tend to get to everything super early. I can entertain myself in a line. Ill join the massive throng of people that will head to Toy Story Mania and Ill grab a FastPass, and then hop into the line for Woody and Buzz if its not already ridiculous. I like TSM as much as the next person, but dang does my arm hurt afterwards. I really only need to ride it once. After Buzz and Woody, Im off to Phineas & Ferb. And that about describes my plan for the whole day!
No, really. Past that, I have no plan. As far as rides go, I only do Tower of Terror. I physically cannot ride Rock N Roller Coaster, so that eliminates the need to wait for that. Im deaf in my left ear and I had surgery two years ago to have a hearing aid implanted (BAHA if you want to Google). Its basically a titanium screw fused into my skull with a post screwed to it, and a little box clips to the screw. Long story short, the hearing aid does nothing for me. My brain is so wired to process sound from the right that it wont even register that theres sound on the left. So I dont wear the hearing aid. But Im still stuck with this thing sticking out of my head. Its just above and behind my ear. So rides that really bang you around with over the shoulder harnesses are no good for me. I cant risk the chance that I bump my head. The area is numb so if I hit it, I wont reallllly know. Luckily the only ride at Disney that I cant do because of that is the Rock N Roller Coaster. All the other coasters are okay. Oh, story not related to Disney, but related to my head. I was in Mammoth Cave and I banged my head really hard. I couldnt feel it, but I knew I smacked it really good. I spent the rest of the tour feeling my head to make sure I wasnt bleeding. Thats a good reason not to ride a ride.
As for shows, I love the Muppets and Beauty and the Beast. I really enjoy Lights, Motor, Action! even if other people dont. I just hate how long it takes to enter and exit that place. How about some moving sidewalks like its Vegas? If its super hot or Im tired, I would skip it. As much as I love the Indiana Jones movies, Im skipping the stunt show. I saw it last year and it really hasnt changed much since I was a kid. I would love them to take it out and put the Indiana Jones ride that they have at Disneyland. Thats a good ride. I guess Dinosaur is similar, but Id rather have an Indiana Jones version.
I have a 3:15 Sci-Fi Dine-In ADR. Im not sure why I made it. I suppose just to have something that isnt counter service.
Characterpalooza! I have to wait until closer to the trip to know if its going to happen or where. Im really hoping its not on the Streets of America and its back in the Animation Building. Ive never done it before and I feel like itd be more structured indoors. For a solo person, I think itd be easier to find someone to take my picture inside than milling around a street.
Magic Kingdom has EMH and Im really going to try to get there. If that means I need to go back to my hotel for a nap or go relax in the Yacht or Beach Club lobbies, Ill do it. I think I may use EMH as tripod time. Night shots in the Magic Kingdom are so good, but so hard to get. Yep, its official. Tripod Night.
The next day will have a character meal and just one park.
Currently Reading: I finished Inferno by Dan Brown. Wha? Now Im onto A Delicate Truth by John Le Carre.
