First, thanks to all that are willing to help me!

I just planned my FIRST solo trip to my favorite place!:yay: It is a rather impulsive trip, going April 18 - 22 (teacher from the northeast!). Have been to WDW numerous times with my kids and/or ex. It has been almost 3 years since my last trip and I have been going crazy wanting to get back. My kids schedules are just too crazy and money is tight with college tuition to pay!:sad2:

I am staying for the first time at POP and am excited to see it! What I really need help with is a few TS restaurants where I won't feel too uncomfortable...particularly with a bar where I can sit, eat...drink! :woohoo: I figured 50's Prime would be one good stop. I love LeCellier...but not sure about ADR for 1?

Any help, tips, suggestions for dining stops...and even for my trip would be very, very much appreciated!:cheer2:

Hi! I have eaten solo at many of the table service places without a problem. I usually bring something to read or takes notes, but much of the time, I just people watch.

Personally, I normally sit at a table by myself and just read or update my notes. On my December trip, I ate solo at:
Tea at the GF
Bistro De Paris (Dinner)
Chefs De France (Lunch)
Biegarten (Lunch)
Tony's (Dinner)
Hollywood Brown Derby (Lunch)
Yak & Yeti (Lunch)
Kona (Dinner)
Tutto Italia (Dinner)
Artist Point (Dinner)
Beaches & Cream (Lunch & dinner)
Captains Grille (Breakfast)
Teppan Edo (Lunch)

On previous trips, I have also eaten solo at Spoodles, Boma, Jiko, Le Cellier, and the Plaza.

Thanks, neighbor! I would like to try places I haven't been yet, so I appreciate your suggestions!

If you want Le Cellier, go for it. You may be able to get it.
I was able to get a table for 1 for lunch at then end of April. Yum!

Come on...

I have been a viewer of these board for YEARS and finally need contact...ideas....please???!!!!:worship:

Well, all I can really offer is that I always feel more comfortable in a WDW TS restaurant than at "regular" one back in the real world. Really, I even order take-out from Applebee's and stuff, just so I can go back home and eat alone in peace, instead of "sticking out" at the restaurant, that's how much it bothers me normally. But it really doesn't bother me at Disney. So pick what you like and enjoy it!

Well, I havn't been on my solo trip yet but...I have the impression that I will enjoy eating alone there. First of all i love people watching at Disney. Second the food is so good I probably will be "mmm"ing so much I will think I'm in a world of my own anyhow=P At least that's what I'm looking forward to at Jiko. I went there with a large group in December and I swear I don't remember any of the conversation because I was so into the food. i drool whenever I think about it! Oh yeah, and Jiko does have a bar.

I was planning on skipping 50" PT solo. To me it's more like a family meal, I mean that's sort of the premise. I'm planning on skipping any character meals too. But I bet dinner show type restaurants would be fun solo.

Jiko is wonderful solo or with a group. so I second that one..
I have eaten solo at Beaches and Cream, Coral Reef, Wolgang Pucks express, Ghiradelli, Rose and Crown and the beer and burger place on the Broadwalk.

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Here is what I am thinking:

Jiko (never been!)
Coral Reef (been so long, can't remember!)

Skipping 50 PT.

Any other 'must do's' - only there April 18 - 22!

Thanks!

I've done Brown Derby solo and it was great... had a "balcony seat so it was great for people watching;) I also like Sci Fi as a solo... you will probably sit in the back as a hitchhiker :lmao: It's such a wonderful atmosphere and the onion rings are yummy :goodvibes

I've done Coral Reef, Rose and Crown and Le Cellier solo and enjoyed them all.

My next solo is in May and I have ressies for Le Cellier and Sanaa, the new restraurant at Kidani... still thinking about what others I want to make.

Really, I can't think of a place I wouldn't try as a solo... I've never felt uncomfortable... pick a food that appeals to you and go for it! :thumbsup2 BTW, the first solo trip can feel intimidating but if you are like so many of us, you will be completely hooked! :cloud9:

That is the best part about Disney, there really isn't anywhere that they make you feel uncomfortable being solo. Make your ressies and have a great time.

I agree with Debbie. About the only place that I don't think that I would try solo is V&A.

Hi! I just got back from my first solo trip so I am not an expert at this or anything lol. I had a really good time and never felt weird- although I'm independent by nature and not prone to worrying about what people think I suppose LOL.

I ate at 50's PTC for an early lunch ressie and loved it- just as much fun without the whole family. There's a bar in Yak n Yeti but I wasn't really fond of the food there.

I found myself eating more CS than TS this time, especially at Epcot. Did the "eat around the world" thing more than once and had a blast.

One thing I will say is that if you are a texter, having your cell phone or an Ipod or something gives you something to do while waiting and eats into those awkward times... although mostly I was people watching and enjoying the Disney atmosphere

Have fun on your trip!

Thanks for all your suggestions. I am definately going to 'eat around the world' at Epcot...plus a cocktail or two. sounds like a blast!

I may try Brown Derby since I have never been all my times of going to WDW!

Still researching my other options!
