When we go on our trip next year, my two friends are going off to discovery cove for a day but im really not fussed. I'll be able to get to any Disney park for free and have enough days on my ticket to do a couple of parks that day, or something completely different....what do you suggest?

How about a morning lounging at Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach, take a nap at the resort, then shopping leisurely at World Showcase or Downtown Disney?

Or go do some single-riders lines at popular rides.

I went on a Solo trip and I actually enjoyed it. At first, I was skeptical because Disney is centered for friends and family but I just jumped right in. I did mostly everything I normally do and then some. You will be amazed at how many friends you will meet just by waiting in lines alone. :thumbsup2 I would never pass Disney up for anything - even if I have to spend the day at a park by myself. It sure is worth it to me!

A tour would be a great way to spend the morning with a small group of people who have the same interest as you. I have taken several of them, all good, and the groups are very nice & friendly.
Then you can have the rest of the day to maybe do a leisurely exploration of AK. Without anybody to rush you, you will be able to enjoy the trails, nooks and crannies.
Enjoy! :sunny:

If you have missed a park or if you really liked a park  that you want to go back to then you could go there in the morning :sunny: then return to your hotel to hang out by the pool for the afternoon :beach: . Or maybe you could do one of those tours of the parks that are offered. You get to see behind the scenes kind of stuff :cool2: . DTD is a day in itself (the marketplace, the west side) :sunny: There is a whole board for solo travelers: http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=54 maybe you could get some ideas from the experts!! Good Luck!

thanks for your ideas :thumbsup2

i think the other two are now also staying at seaworld for dinner and the evening show there if its on the day they go so i was thinking a morning at blizzard beach, followed by lunch at dtd (am on DDP) and a bit of shopping, get that sent back to resort then off to epcot to ride soarin' on fastpass (if there's any left), TT and MS as a single rider, maybe grab a counter service at epcot then head over to MGM for fantasmic or just stay put for IllumiNations

That so sounds like something I would do on a SOLO day.... (although I would pick Typhoon Lagoon as the water park)... Yeah I love Illuminations and is the best way to end the day (solo or not)

Enjoy! I know I would

hehe i love BB....it was my v first WDW water park and I LOVE LOVE LOVE teamboat springs and the toboggan slides :)

There wont be much shopping at DTD (although I say that now i'll probs end up spending about $400 there when there's nobody to stop me!)...but it will mainly be pins!

I just wanted to be sure and point out you have to have hopping on your ticket to do more than one park in a day no matter how many days are left on your ticket. You can't use more than one admission in one day for two different parks or at least that is my understanding. You might not have planned that but just in case I thought I would mention it just in case.

Have fun planning!

yeah its cool, we'll be on the UK ultimate tickets which are unlimited admissions to all of the parks, water parks, and disneyquest

I would definately spend some time in EpCot - going back n forth btwn British Invasion and Off Kilter, British Invasion and Off Kilter

Oh yeah Im planning that one of the days DH & DS go to SeaWorld or Universal (I cant see myself going offsite for 3 days like DH has planned)

i really enjoyed my solo day too- was in orlando on business and had a day left on an old hopper, so i used it. i was skeptical that i wouldn't have a good time- since i love sharing the magic and watching others enjoy it (family etc.). but i had a great time- did epcot then MK- watched WISHES. that was fun, but it made me miss my family watching it alone. it was great to go at my own pace and shop and see the things I wanted to see on my own schedule! enjoy!

When the kids and DH want to do a water park I like to take a day to myself and go to EP.. You can also go to the boardwalk and take a stroll..

I like the idea of spending some time in WS in Epcot, just poking thru all the shops at a leisurely pace. I also like to go either to AK or Frontierland in MK (my 2 favorite spots), grab a Mickey bar and a park bench, and people-watch for a while.

i've also just remembered that the others aren't all that keen on the really big thrill rides, so it might be a great time for me to do those too
